An 85 year male patient complaining epigastric discomfort was *** the esophagogastroduodenoscopy,three early gastric cancer(EGCa)lesions had been identified and these were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma with poorly differentiated cell *** patient underwent *** the post-operative mapping,however,additional 4 EGCa lesions were found,and the patient was diagnosed with 7 synchronous *** of the 7 EGCa lesions,6 had shown invasion only to the mucosal layer and one had shown invasion into the 1/3layer of *** spite of such superficial invasions,28 of 48 lymph nodes had been identified as *** multiple lesions of EGCa do not increase the risk of lymph node metastasis,but if their differentiations are poor or if they have lympho-vascular invasion,multiple lymph node metastases could incur even if the depth of invasion is limited to the mucosal layer or the upper portion of the submucosal layer.

In this paper,the effects of foundation damage and water-level change on vibration characteristics of gravity-type caisson structure are examined by analyzing modal parameters extracted from output-only *** achieve the objective,the following approaches are ***,vibration response analysis methods are selected to estimate power spectral density and modal parameters such as natural frequency,damping ratio and mode shape of a lab-scale caisson structural ***,vibration tests on the lab-scale caisson system are performed under a series of test scenarios which include three water-level changes and three damage ***,experimental modal parameters corresponding to the damaging cases as well as the water level cases are extracted by frequency domain decomposition method and stochastic subspace identification ***,the effects of the water-level variation and foundation damage on the extracted modal parameters are examined to assess the feasibility of the vibration-based damage detection in gravity-type caisson structures under water-level uncertainty.

This study proposed a strategy for effectively diminishing the carrier concentration in Cu_(2)Te by introducing graphene sheets,Based on thermoelectric property measurements and single parabolic band modeling,the incorporated graphene effectively reduced the carrier concentration,not only enhancing the thermoelectric performance of the Cu_(2)Te/graphene composite but also substantially improving its figure of merit up to ~1.47 at 1000 K,which is 268% higher than that of pristine Cu_(2)Te,This study gives an insight into the control of carrier concentration and thermoelectric properties in Cu_(2)Te,and it could be extended to other copper chalcogenides for excellent thermoelectrics.

Recent epidemiological studies,basic research and clinical trials on colorectal cancer(CRC)prevention have helped identify candidates for effective chemopreventive ***,because of the conflicting results of clinical trials or side effects,the effective use of chemopreventive drugs has not been generalized,except for patients with a high-risk for developing hereditary *** in genetic and molecular technologies have highlighted the greater complexity of carcinogenesis,especially the heterogeneity of *** need to target cells and processes that are critical to carcinogenesis for chemoprevention and treatment of advanced *** research has shown that intestinal stem cells may serve an important role in tumor initiation and formation of cancer stem ***,studies have shown that the tumor microenvironment may play additional roles in dedifferentiation,to enable tumor cells to take on stem cell features and promote the formation of tumorigenic stem ***,early tumorigenic changes of stem cells and signals for dedifferentiation may be good targets for *** this review,I focus on cancer stem cells in colorectal carcinogenesis and the effect of major chemopreventive drugs on stem cell-related pathways.

Heat and drought are prominent abiotic stressors that limit crop productivity and yield,particularly concerning climate change;therefore,understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying plant stress responses is crucial for stress-tolerant crop *** study conducted a transcriptomic analysis to elucidate how garlic(Allium sativum L.)responds to drought and heat stress *** libraries were generated to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)induced by drought and heat *** classification and clustering analysis of DEGs revealed stress-specific gene expression ***,cell wall-related genes were implicated in the drought response,whereas heat stress was associated with heat stress transcription factors and heat shock *** results provide essential information for future studies on stress tolerances in garlic.

Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) pancreatitis(PEP) is not an uncommon adverse event but may be an avoidable complication. Although pancreatitis of severe grade is reported in 0.1%-0.5% of ERCP patients, a serious clinical course may be lethal. For prevention of severe PEP, patient risk stratification, appropriate selection of patients using noninvasive diagnostic imaging methods such as magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography or endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS), and avoidance of unnecessary invasive procedures, are important measures to be taken before any procedure. Pharmacological prevention is also commonly attempted but is usually ineffective. No ideal agent has not yet been found and the available data conflict. Currently, rectal non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are used to prevent PEP in high-risk patients, but additional studies using larger numbers of subjects are necessary to confirm any prophylactic effect. In this review, we focus on endoscopic procedures seeking to prevent or decrease the severity of PEP. Among various cannulation methods, wire-guided cannulation,precut fistulotomy,and transpancreatic septostomy are *** pancreatic stent placement,which is the best-known prophylactic method,is reviewed with reference to the ideal stent type,adequate duration of stent placement,and stentrelated ***,we comment on other treatment alternatives,and make the point that further advances in EUS-guided techniques may afford useful PEP prophylaxis.

Biodegradable stents made of magnesium(Mg)and its alloys have been developed to minimize persistent inflammation or in-stent restenosis,which are the main problems for permanent ***,their rapid corrosion behavior under physiological conditions leads to poor vascular compatibility and premature structural failure,which remains an important unsolved clinical ***,we demonstrate a new strategy for solving this problem by combining poly(ether imide)(PEI)coating and subsequent tantalum(Ta)ion *** PEI coating covers the whole surface of the Mg stent uniformly via a spray coating technique and provides Mg with superior corrosion resistance and stable sirolimus-carrying *** ion implantation is conducted by a sputtering-based plasma immersion ion implantation technique only onto the luminal surface of the PEI-coated Mg *** extremely short processing time(<30 s)permits preservation of the PEI coating’s corrosion protection ability and sirolimus loading *** addition,a Ta-implanted skin layer that forms on the topmost surface of the PEI coating plays an effective role in not only preventing a rapid release of sirolimus from the surface but also improving the PEI coating’s surface *** on in vitro cellular response and blood compatibility tests,Ta ion implantation leads to the improvement of endothelial cell adhesion/proliferation and suppression of platelet adhesion/activation regardless of sirolimus *** results indicate that the combination of PEI coating and Ta ion implantation has significant innovative potential to provide excellent vascular compatibility and prevent in-stent restenosis and thrombosis.

This paper is focused on the structural behavior of the single shear bolted connections with thin-walled ferritic stainless *** purpose of this study is to investigate the ultimate behaviors,such as ultimate strength and fracture mode of the single shear bolted connections of thin-walled ferritic stainless steel(low cost steel) rather than austenitic stainless steel(high cost steel).Bolt arrangement and end distance parallel to the direction of applied load are considered as main variables of the test specimens for bolted *** have a constant dimension of edge distance perpendicular to the loading direction,bolt diameter,pitch,and gauge.A monotonic tensile test for specimens has been carried out and some bolted connections with long end distance showed curling(out of plane deformation) occurrence which led to strength *** ultimate behaviors such as fracture mode,ultimate strength are compared with those predicted by current design ***,conditions of curling occurrence and the strength reduction due to curling are investigated and modified strength equations are suggested considering the curling effect.
