Lithofacies modeling by multipoint statistics and economic evaluation by NPV volume for the early Cretaceous Wabiskaw Member in Athabasca oilsands area, Canada

The static modeling and dynamic simulation are essential and critical processes in petroleum exploration and development. In this study, lithofacies models for Wabiskaw Member in Athabasca, Canada are generated by multipoint statistics(MPS) and then compared with the models built by sequential indicator simulation(SIS). Three training images(Tls) are selected from modern depositional environments;the Orinoco River Delta estuary, Cobequid bay-Salmon River estuary, and Danube River delta environment. In order to validate lithofacies models, average and variance of similarity in lithofacies are calculated through random and zonal blind-well *** random six-blind-well test, similarity average of MPS models is higher than that of SIS model. The Salmon MPS model closely resembles facies pattern of Wabiskaw Member in subsurface. Zonal blind-well tests show that successful lithofacies modeling for transitional depositional setting requires additional or proper zonation information on horizontal variation, vertical proportion, and secondary *** Wabiskaw Member is frontier oilsands lease, it is impossible to evaluate the economics from production data or dynamic simulation. In this study, a dynamic steam assisted gravity drainage(SAGD)performance indicator(SPIDER) on the basis of reservoir characteristics is calculated to build 3 D reservoir model for the evaluation of the SAGD feasibility in Wabiskaw Member. SPIDER depends on reservoir properties, economic limit of steam-oil ratio, and bitumen price. Reservoir properties like porosity,permeability, and water saturation are measured from 13 cores and calculated from 201 well-logs. Three dimensional volumes of reservoir properties are constructed mostly based on relationships among properties. Finally, net present value(NPV) volume can be built by equation relating NPV and SPIDER. Stability of PAC(Psy-2A-Crt I) gene and agronomic traits in the F_(2:3) of IR36/PAC transgenic plants

This study was carried out to evaluate the expression of yellow endosperm color in the progeny of Psy-2A-Crt I（β-carotene gene, PAC） transgenic plants crossed with IR36. The selected 25 lines of F2 progeny exhibited stable expression of yellow endosperm color and high agronomic characteristics. IR36 and PAC transgenic plant of the grain length, width and ratio showed the same tendency of normal distribution. For progeny selection, colorimeters were as employed to distinguish differing visible colors. Correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between b＊ value and the expression of specific genes. b＊ value was associated with the relative expression of the PAC-Rev and MAR product by real-time PCR and t-test revealed significant difference. Based on this study, correlation between colorimetric values and real-time PCR was effective to detect gene expression. Yellow endosperm progenies represent a new genetic pool that might be useful to increase the genetic diversity of yellow endosperm rice.

Iterative static modeling of channelized reservoirs using history-matched facies probability data and rejection of training image

Most inverse reservoir modeling techniques require many forward simulations, and the posterior models cannot preserve geological features of prior models. This study proposes an iterative static modeling approach that utilizes dynamic data for rejecting an unsuitable training image(TI) among a set of TI candidates and for synthesizing history-matched pseudo-soft data. The proposed method is applied to two cases of channelized reservoirs, which have uncertainty in channel geometry such as direction, amplitude, and width. Distance-based clustering is applied to the initial models in total to select the qualified models efficiently. The mean of the qualified models is employed as a history-matched facies probability map in the next iteration of static models. Also, the most plausible TI is determined among TI candidates by rejecting other TIs during the iteration. The posterior models of the proposed method outperform updated models of ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF) and ensemble smoother(ES) because they describe the true facies connectivity with bimodal distribution and predict oil and water production with a reasonable range of uncertainty. In terms of simulation time, it requires 30 times of forward simulation in history matching, while the EnKF and ES need 9000 times and 200 times, respectively.

Comparison and Analysis of QTLs, Epistatic Effects and QTLx Environment Interactions for Yield Traits Using DH and RILs Populations in Rice

Two genetic linkage maps, constructed by DH and RILs populations derived from the same parents, were carried out for the identification and comparison of QTLs controlling yield traits across different years in rice （Oryza sativa L.）. A total of 194 SSR and STS markers were used in two maps, of which 114 markers were same. The distribution of Samgang allele was higher in RILs population than it in DH population. Comparing with DH population, RILs population has more lines with higher yield and wider phenotypic transgressive segression for yield traits. Although most of QTLs for the same trait were different in two populations across different years, 8 QTLs （including gwp 11.1, spp5.1, spp 10.1, spp 11.2, ssrl. 1, ssrl 1.1, tgw9.1 and tgwl 1.1） were detected over 2 yr. It is important to note that pppl0.1, sppl0.1 and tgw9.1 were identified in two populations, while sppl 0.1 and tgw9.1 were simultaneity observed across different years. Epistatic effects were more important than additive effects for PPP, SPP, yield in DH population and TGW, yield in R/Ls population. Epistatic effects of DH and RILs populations were different on the same genetic background in the present study, which illuminated the QE interaction played an important role on epistatic effect. Identification and comparison of QTLs for yield traits in DH and RILs populations should provide various and more precise information. The QTLs identified in present study would be valuable in marker-assisted selection program for improving rice yield.

Analysis of High-Resolution QTL Markers Associated with Rice Yields Using Data for Two Consecutive Years in Different Environmental Conditions

Previously we reported the identification of seven quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with the rice yield measuring five parameters including panicles per plant (PPP), spikelets per panicle (SPP), seed set percentage (SSP), 1000-grain weight (TGW) and yield in 2012. Here we report the analysis of QTLs using the same trait parameters data of the mapping population in 2013 for detecting highly conserved QTL markers. A total of 6 QTLs were identified from chromosomes 1, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, which were contrasted with our previous results (chromosomes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 11). In this comparison, three QTLs from chromosome 1, 8, and 11 were only found to be associated with the components of yield over two consecutive years indicating high sensitivity of QTL markers to the environment. Of those three QTLs, SPP-associated marker RM12285 was found to be dominantly expressed by real-time PCR (qPCR). In addition, compared to our previous report the numbers of mapping population and markers were significantly increased for higher resolution markers from 70 to 120, and from 143 to 217, respectively. We also found that the parameter SPP was dominantly correlated with the rice yield. Furthermore, the double haploid (DH) population facilitated to analyze the epistatic effects for yield and yield components in rice. Taken together, combining multiple mapping population data over years possibly enables narrowing down to the highly conserved QTL markers against diverse environmental fluctuation caused by such as drought and high temperature. Thus, these data would be critically exploited to improve for the crop breeding strategy.

Functional Analysis for Rolling Leaf of Somaclonal Mutants in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

This study was carried out to facilitate the functional analysis of rice genes. Some 297 insertion plants (1.7%) of the entire lines with the endogenous retrotransposon Tos17 were produced. Phenotypes of these plants in the S2 genera-tion were observed in the field according to different leaf types. Rolling leaf mutants showed thinner sclerenchyma-tous cells, defective arrangement of vascular bundles, and well-formed bulliform cells as compared to the parental cultivar. Two new copies of Tos17 were detected in the rolling leaf type. In the new leaf type, the copy number and activation of Tos12, 15 did not appear as ‘Ilpum’. Flanking sequence tag (FST) analysis of Tos17 in the rolling leaf mutant indicated that new copies of Tos17 were transposed on chromosomes 11 and 12. Annotated homologues of the tagging genes on chromosome 11 were arabinoxylan rabinofuranohydrolase isoenzyme AXAH-I and II. The tagging gene in chromosome 12 was highly correlated with 6 kinds of genes including a transcript regulated factor and a rough sheath 2-like protein. This rolling leaf and flanking sequence data will stimulate the functional analysis of rice genes.

High-temperature thermal oxidation of an Fe foil produces a high-quality,crystalline hematite nanoflake suitable as a photoanode for the photoelectrochemical(PEC)water *** pre-polishing of the foil surface has a profound effect in the formation of a vertically-aligned nanoflakes of hematite phase with extended(110)planes by removing the loosely-bonded oxide *** the surface of the photoanode is modified with a ZrO_(2) passivation layer and a cobalt phosphate co-catalyst,the charge recombination at the photoanode-electrolyte interface is greatly suppressed to improve its overall PEC *** a result,the photocurrent density at 1.10 VRHE under 1 sun condition is enhanced from 0.22 mA cm^(-2) for an unmodified photoanode to 0.59 mA cm^(-2) for the fully modified photoanode,and the photocurrent onset potential is shifted cathodically by 400 ***,the photoanode demonstrates outstanding stability by showing steady production of H_(2) and O_(2) gases in the stoichiometric ratio of 2:1 in a continuous PEC operation for 10 h.

目的特发性肺纤维化(IPF)患者的肺癌发生率高,患者肺功能差,易发生气胸,因此对CT发现的孤立性肺结节(SPN)不宜采用侵入性诊断方法,否则可能导致严重的不良后果。^18F-脱氧葡萄糖(FDG)PET/CT可用于非IPF患者SPN的良恶性鉴别,但在IPF患者中的诊断准确性尚无研究。因此该研究拟调查^18F-FDGPET/CT是否能鉴别诊断IPF患者的SPN。方法回顾性分析来自该院的55例IPF患者[男54例、女1例,年龄(67.8±7.6)岁],患者SPN大小为8~30(18.5±5.7)mm,所有患者在2004年4月至2016年3月间行胸部CT和^18F-FDGPET/CT显像。对SPN的^18F-FDG摄取行视觉分析和半定量分析,图像结果与最终病理诊断(n=52)或影像学随访(n=3)结果进行比较。结果最终诊断结果表明,41个(75%)SPNs为恶性(21个鳞状细胞癌、9个腺癌、5个小细胞癌、4个混合类型癌、1个大细胞神经内分泌癌和1个肉瘤样癌),14个(25%)为良性。视觉分析PET/CT图像诊断SPN为恶性病变的灵敏度、特异性、阳性预测值(PPV)和阴性预测值(NPV)分别为98%、86%、95%和92%。使用最大标准摄取值(SUVmax)为2.0行半定量分析诊断的灵敏度、特异性、PPV和NPV分别为95%、93%、98%和87%。结论^18F-FDGPET/CT可用于IPF患者SPN的良恶性鉴别,如其用于非IPF患者一样。
