Our previous study evaluated the in vitro and in vivo antioxidant activities of sulfated polysaccharides from a Celluclastassistedextract of Hizikia fusiforme (HFPS). The results indicate that HFPS possesses potent antioxidant activity and suggestthe potential use of HFPS to combat photoaging. In this study, we investigated the ultraviolet (UV) protective effect of HFPSin vitro in keratinocytes (HaCaT cells) and in vivo in zebrafish. The results indicate that HFPS significantly reduced thelevel of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and improved the viability of UVB-irradiated HaCaT cells. In addition,HFPS remarkably decreased apoptosis formation in UVB-irradiated HaCaT cells in a dose-dependent manner. The in vivotest results also demonstrate that HFPS significantly reduced intracellular ROS levels, cell death, NO production, and lipidperoxidation levels in UVB-irradiated zebrafish in a dose-dependent manner. These results suggest that HFPS possessesstrong in vitro and in vivo UV-protective effects, making it a potential ingredient in the cosmeceutical industry.

In this study,the effects of different salinity gradients and addition of compatible solutes on anaerobic treated effluent water qualities,sludge characteristics and microbial communities were *** increase in salinity resulted in a decrease in particle size of the granular sludge,which was concentrated in the range of 0.5-1.0 *** content of EPS(extracellular polymeric substances)in the granular sludge gradually increased with increasing salinity and the addition of betaine(a typical compatible solute).Meanwhile,the microbial community structure was significantly affected by salinity,with high salinity reducing the diversity of *** higher salinity,Patescibacteria and Proteobacteria gradually became the dominant phylum,with relative abundance increasing to 13.53%and 12.16%at 20 g/L *** and its subordinate Desulfovibrio,which secrete EPS in large quantities,dominated significantly after betaine *** relative abundance reached 13.65%and 7.86%at phylum level and genus *** effect of these changes on the treated effluent was shown as the average chemical oxygen demand(COD)removal rate decreased from 82.10%to 79.71%,78.01%,68.51%and 64.55%when the salinity gradually increased from 2 g/L to 6,10,16 and 20 g/*** the salinity of 20 g/L,average COD removal increased to 71.65%by the addition of 2 mmol/L *** gradient elevated salinity and the exogenous addition of betaine played an important role in achieving stability of the anaerobic system in a highly saline environment,which provided a feasible strategy for anaerobic treatment of organic saline wastewater.

Silk damping is well known in the study of cosmic microwave background(CMB)and accounts for suppression of the angular power spectrum of CMB on large angular *** this article,we study the effect of Silk damping on the scalar-induced gravitational waves(SIGWs).Resulting from the dissipation of cosmic fluid,the Silk damping notably suppresses the energy-density spectrum of SIGWs on scales comparable to a diffusion scale at the decoupling time of weakly-interacting *** effect offers a novel observable for probing the underlying particle interaction,especially for those mediated by heavy gauge bosons beyond the standard model of *** anticipate that pulsar timing arrays are sensitive to gauge bosons with mass∼10^(3)-10^(4)GeV,while space-and ground-based interferometers to those with mass∼10^(7)-10^(12)GeV,leading to essential comple-ments to on-going and future experiments of high-energy physics.

Solar cycles are fundamental to astrophysics,space exploration,technological infrastructure,and Earth's climate.A better understanding of these cycles and their history can aid in risk mitigation on Earth,while also deepening our knowledge of stellar physics and solar system *** the solar cycles between 1600 and 1700-especially the post-1645 Maunder Minimum,characterized by significantly reduced solar activity-poses challenges to existing solar activity *** study utilizes a new red equatorial auroral catalog from ancient Korean texts to establish solar cycle patterns from 1623 to ***,a further reevaluation of the solar cycles between 1610 and 1755 identified a total of 13 cycles,diverging from the widely accepted record of 12 cycles during that *** research enhances our understanding of historical solar activity,and underscores the importance of integrating diverse historical sources into modern analyses.

We consider the moment map m:PV_(n)→iu(n)for the action of GL(n)on V_(n)=■^(2)(C^(n))^(∗)■C^(n),and study the critical points of the functional Fn=||m||2:PV_(n)→***,we prove that[μ]∈PV_(n) is a critical point if and only if Mμ=cμI+Dμfor some cμ∈R and Dμ∈Der(μ),where m([μ])=Mμ||μ||*** we show that any algebraμadmits a Nikolayevsky derivationϕμwhich is unique up to automorphism,and if moreover,[μ]is a critical point of Fn,thenϕμ=−1 cμDμ.Secondly,we characterize the maxima and minima of the functional Fn:A_(n)→R,where A_(n) denotes the projectivization of the algebraic varieties of all the n-dimensional associative ***,for an arbitrary critical point[μ]of Fn:A_(n)→R,we obtain a description of the algebraic structure ofμ.Finally,we classify the critical points of Fn:A_(n)→R for n=2 and n=3,respectively.

Both acceleration and pseudo-acceleration response spectra play important roles in structural seismic ***,only one of them is generally provided in most seismic ***,many studies have attempted to develop conversion models between the acceleration response spectrum(SA)and the pseudo-acceleration response spectrum(PSA).Our previous studies found that the relationship between SA and PSA is affected by magnitude,distance,and site ***,we developed an SA/PSA model incorporating these ***,this model is suitable for cases with small and moderate magnitudes and its accuracy is not good enough for cases with large *** paper aims to develop an efficient SA/PSA model by considering influences of magnitude,distance,and site class,which can be applied to cases not only with small or moderate magnitudes but also with large *** this purpose,regression analyses were conducted using 16,660 horizontal seismic records with a wider range of *** magnitude of these seismic records varies from 4 to 9 and the distances vary from 10 to 200 *** ground motions were recorded at 338 stations covering four site *** comparing them with existing models,it was found that the proposed model shows better accuracy for cases with any magnitudes,distances,and site classes considered in this study.

The complex wiring,bulky data collection devices,and difficulty in fast and on-site data interpretation significantly limit the practical application of flexible strain sensors as wearable *** tackle these challenges,this work develops an artificial intelligenceassisted,wireless,flexible,and wearable mechanoluminescent strain sensor system(AIFWMLS)by integration of deep learning neural network-based color data processing system(CDPS)with a sandwich-structured flexible mechanoluminescent sensor(SFLC)*** SFLC film shows remarkable and robust mechanoluminescent performance with a simple structure for easy *** CDPS system can rapidly and accurately extract and interpret the color of the SFLC film to strain values with auto-correction of errors caused by the varying color temperature,which significantly improves the accuracy of the predicted strain.A smart glove mechanoluminescent sensor system demonstrates the great potential of the AIFWMLS system in human gesture ***,the versatile SFLC film can also serve as a encryption *** integration of deep learning neural network-based artificial intelligence and SFLC film provides a promising strategy to break the“color to strain value”bottleneck that hinders the practical application of flexible colorimetric strain sensors,which could promote the development of wearable and flexible strain sensors from laboratory research to consumer markets.

High-energy-density（HED） fuel（*** used JP-10 and RJ-4）,featuring compact 3D polycyclic structure with high strain,is of critical importance for volume-limited military aircraft,since their high density and combustion heat can provide more propulsion *** reduce the reliance on petroleum source,it is highly desirable to develop renewable alternatives for the production of strained polycyclic HED fuel,but which remains a big challenge because of the inaccessibility caused by the high strain,We herein demonstrate a three-step catalytic route towards highly strained C17and C18spirofuel with biomass *** process includes catalytic aldol condensation of renewable cyclohexanone/cyclopentanone with benzaldehyde,catalytic spiro Diels-Alder（D-A） reaction of aldol adduct with isoprene,and catalytic *** key spiro D-A reaction is enabled by the catalysis of heterogeneous Lewis acidic ionic *** chloroaluminate IL,formed by benign urea and AICl3,exhibits good catalytic performance and reusability for this *** eventual hydrodeoxygenation（HDO）over Pd/C and H-Y produces strained tricyclic spirofuel with density>0.93 g/mL,combustion heat>41 MJ/L and freezing point <-40℃,which are better than the properties of tactical fuel ***,it is anticipated that the as-prepared renewable fuels have the potential to replace traditional petroleum-derived HED fuels.

A supramolecular assembly composed of perylene diimide derivative(PDI-nm)and nor-secocucurbit[10]uril(ns-Q[10])was *** excellent host-guest interaction between PDI-nm and nsQ[10]prevented the aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ)effect of PDI-nm,resulting in a luminescent *** addition of spermine to the PDI-nm/ns-Q[10]assembly restored the ACQ of PDI-nm due to the competitive binding of spermine to ns-Q[10],which released *** assembly based on this principle showed ultra-high sensitivity for the detection of spermine with a detection limit as low as7.84×10^(-7)mol/L in aqueous solution and 3.69×10^(-7)mol/L in plasma ***,an artificial light-harvesting system based on this assembly was proposed,benefiting from its good luminescent *** red(Ni R)functioned as an acceptor loaded into assembly,and a highly efficient energy transfer process occurred from PDI-nm/ns-Q[10]to Ni R,with an efficiency up to 87%.
