A rapidly growing number of successful genome sequencing projects in plant pathogenic fungi greatly increase the demands for tools and methodologies to study fungal pathogenicity at genomic scale. Magnaporthe oryzae is an economically important plant pathogenic fungus whose genome is fully sequenced. Recently we have reported the development and application of functional genomics platform technologies in M. oryzae. This model approach would have many practical ramifications in design and implementation of upcoming functional genomics studies of filamentous fungi aimed at understanding fungal pathogenicity.

Numerical study was performed to evaluate the characteristics of combined heat transfer of radiation, conduction and convection in indirect near infrared ray （N/R） heating chamber. The effects of important design parameters such as the shape of heat absorbing cylinder and heat releasing fin on the pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient were analyzed with different Reynolds numbers. The Reynolds numbers were varied from 103 to 3x106, which was defined based on the hydraulic diameter of the heat absorbing cylinder. Analyses were performed to obtain the inner and outer flow and the temperature distributions in the heat absorbing cylinder and the rates of radiation heat transfer and convection heat transfer. As the Reynolds number increases, the convection heat transfer rate is increased while the radiation heat transfer rate is decreased. The average convection heat transfer rate follows a power rule of the Reynolds number. Addition of three-dimensional heat releasing fin to the outside of the heat absorbing cylinder enhances the convection heat transfer.

Objective:To evaluate possible lipid catabolism and body fat regulation effects of 3-caffeoylquinic acid in Green coffee bean extract(GCBE) in high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obese ***:Obesity was induced in mice using a HFD for four ***,mice were fed only HFD or HFD with GCBE at 50,100,and 200 mg/*** acid synthesis mechanism regulation of body fat was investigated through real-time PCR and Western blot *** fat reduction was measured through dual-energy X-ray ***:In HFD-induced obese mice,GCBE treatment significantly decreased body weight gain,liver weight and white adipose tissue weights with regulation of adipose tissue lipolysis hormones,like adiponectin and *** treatment decreased mR NA expression levels of adipogenesis and adipocyte metabolism related genes in adipose tissues and the liver,and decreased the corresponding protein *** energy X-ray absorptiometry measurements were used to compare body fat between mice on high-fat and those treated with *** treated mice had a lower fat mass compared to HFD alone fed mice and relative body weight and fat mass were markedly ***:GCBE has a potential anti-obesity effect with lowering body fat accumulation by regulating adipogenesis and lipid metabolism-related genes and proteins in WAT and liver.

We evaluated thirteen eyes of twelve patients diagnosed clinically and serologically with Toxocara optic neuropathy. Eleven patients had unilateral involvement and one patient had bilateral optic neuropathy. Eight patients （66.7%） had a possible infection source to Toxocara. Six patients （50%） had painless acute optic neuropathy. Ten eyes had asymmetric, sectorial optic disc edema with peripapillary infiltration and three eyes had diffuse optic disc edema. Eosinophilia was noted in five patients （41.7%） and optic nerve enhancement was observed in eight of eleven eyes （72.7%） with available orbit magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）. Mean visual acuity significantly improved following treatment [mean logarithmic of the minimum angle of resolution （IogMAR） 0.94±0.56 at baseline and 0.47±0.59 at the final （P=0.02）]. Asymmetric optic disc edema with a peripapillary lesion and a history of raw meat ingestion were important clues for diagnosing Toxocara optic neuropathy. Additionally, Toxocara IgG enzymelinked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） test and evaluating eosinophil may be helpful for diagnosis.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) is the most advanced and representative technique in the field of therapeutic endoscopy and has been used for the treatment of gastrointestinal neoplasms,including early gastric *** major difference and advantage of ESD compared to existing endoscopic resection techniques,such as endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR) and polypectomy,are the width and depth of the *** developed cutting devices,distal attachable endoscopic accessories,and an advanced electrosurgical unit have helped to overcome the limitations of therapeutic endoscopy in terms of lesion size,location,presence of fibrotic scarring,and accompanying *** a result,the indications for ESD have been expanded from the classical indication for EMR and polypectomy,and there is now support for a further expansion of ESD *** present,the most critical factor to consider in the decision of whether to perform ESD is the probability of unexpected lymph node *** guidelines for ESD are continually being updated and *** this review,we discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the expanded guidelines,based on evidence found in the literature.

We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 32 patients with medically intractable idiopathic Parkinson＇s disease who had undergone staged bilateral deep brain stimulation of the subtha-lamic nuclei from January 2007 to May 2011. The vascularture of the patients who received two deep brain stimulations was detected using double-dose gadolinium-enhanced brain MRI. The dimensions of straight sinus, superior sagittal sinus, ipsilateral internal cerebral vein in the tha- lamic branch and ipsilateral anterior caudate vein were reduced. These findings demonstrate that bilateral deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nuclei affects cerebral venous blood flow.

Advantage of endoscopic mucosal resection with a cap for rectal neuroendocrine tumors

AIM: To compare the outcomes of endoscopic mucosal resection with a cap(EMR-C) with those of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) for the resection of rectal neuroendocrine ***: One hundred and sixteen lesions in 114 patients with rectal neuroendocrine tumor(NET) resected with EMR-C or ESD were included in the study. This study was performed at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital between July 2009 and August 2014. We analyzed endoscopic complete resection rate,pathologic complete resection rate,procedure time,and adverse events in the EMR-C(n = 65) and ESD(n = 51) groups. We also performed a subgroup analysis by tumor ***: Mean tumor size was 4.62 ± 1.66 mm in the EMR-C group and 7.73 ± 3.14 mm in the ESD group(P < 0.001). Endoscopic complete resection rate was 100% in both groups. Histologic complete resection rate was significantly greater in the EMR-C group(92.3%) than in the ESD group(78.4%)(P = 0.042). Mean procedure time was significantly longer in the ESD group(14.43 ± 7.26 min) than in the EMR-C group(3.83 ± 1.17 min)(P < 0.001). Rates of histologic complete resection without complication were similar for tumor diameter ≤ 5 mm(EMR-C,96%; ESD,100%,P = 0.472) as well as in cases of 5 mm < tumor diameter ≤ 10 mm(EMR-C,80%; ESD,71.0%,P = 0.524).CONCLUSION: EMR-C may be simple,faster,and more effective than ESD in removing rectal NETs and may be preferable for resection of small rectal NETs.

Herein,the purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of kaempferol on bioavailability and pharmacokinetics of nifedipine and its metabolite dehydronifedipine in *** experimental design is based on with or without kaempferol in the oral and intravenous administration of nifedipine in ***,the pharmacokinetic parameters including nifedipine and dehydronifedipine were evaluated in *** in vitro studies of kaempferol were investigated on P-glycoprotein(P-gp)and cytochrome P450(CYP)3A4 *** reduced a 50%inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 8.6μmol·L-1 on CYP3A4 enzyme ***,kaempferol clearly improved the cell internalization of rhodamine-123 in MCF-7/ADR cells overexpressing *** on increased concentrations of kaempferol,the areas under the plasma concentration–time curve(AUC0-∞)and the peak concentration(Cmax)of nifedipine were increased after oral and intravenous ***,the absolute bioavailability(AB)and relative bioavailability(RB)of nifedipine in the presence of kaempferol was significantly higher than those of the control group after oral and intravenous *** of bioavailability of nifedipine by kaempferol may be mainly because of the inhibition of the P-gp-mediated efflux transporter in the small intestine and CYP3A4-mediated metabolism in the small intestine or liver,or both.
