An Enhanced Ensemble-Based Long Short-Term Memory Approach for Traffic Volume Prediction

With the advancement of artificial intelligence,traffic forecasting is gaining more and more interest in optimizing route planning and enhancing service *** volume is an influential parameter for planning and operating traffic *** study proposed an improved ensemble-based deep learning method to solve traffic volume prediction problems.A set of optimal hyperparameters is also applied for the suggested approach to improve the performance of the learning *** fusion of these methodologies aims to harness ensemble empirical mode decomposition’s capacity to discern complex traffic patterns and long short-term memory’s proficiency in learning temporal ***,a dataset for automatic vehicle identification is obtained and utilized in the preprocessing stage of the ensemble empirical mode decomposition *** second aspect involves predicting traffic volume using the long short-term memory ***,the study employs a trial-and-error approach to select a set of optimal hyperparameters,including the lookback window,the number of neurons in the hidden layers,and the gradient descent ***,the fusion of the obtained results leads to a final traffic volume *** experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms other benchmarks regarding various evaluation measures,including mean absolute error,root mean squared error,mean absolute percentage error,and *** achieved R-squared value reaches an impressive 98%,while the other evaluation indices surpass the *** findings highlight the accuracy of traffic pattern ***,this offers promising prospects for enhancing transportation management systems and urban infrastructure planning.

Single-Layer Wideband Circularly Polarized Antenna Using Non-Uniform Metasurface for C-band Applications

A single-layer design of non-uniform metasurface(MS)based circularly polarized(CP)antenna with wideband operation characteristic is proposed and investigated in this *** antenna is excited by a truncated corner squared patch as a primary radiating CP ***,a non-uniform MS is placed in the same layer with the driven *** increasing the impedance bandwidth,the non-uniform MS also generates two additional CP bands in the high frequency band,leading to significantly increase the antenna’s overall *** use of non-uniform MS distinguishes our design from the other CP MS based antennas in literature,in which the MS is formed by multiple uniform unit cells and placed in different layer with the radiating *** validation,an antenna prototype,whose overall dimensions of 0.94λ_(o)×0.94λ_(o)×0.06λ_(o) at the center operating frequency,is fabricated and experimentally *** measured operating bandwidth with|S11|≤−10 dB and AR≤3 dB is 27.1%(5.1–6.7 GHz)and the broadside gain within this band is from 5.7 to 7.2 *** to the other related works,the proposed antenna has advantage of very wideband operation with single-layer design.

Facile synthesis of FeFe2O4 magnetic nanomaterial for removing methylene blue from aqueous solution

A facile and simple chemical precipitation method was utilized to synthesize FeFe2O4magnetic nanomaterial for removing methylene blue（MB） from aqueous solution. Characterizations of this material were examined by using XRD, SEM, FT-IR, TGA-DTG and BET methods. Factors affecting the uptake of methylene blue, including p H, adsorption time, and MB initial concentration were also studied. The measured data were fitted by using four isotherm models including Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips and Temkin. Results showed that the Sips model offers the best fit to the data. In addition, the monolayer MB adsorption capacity obtained from the Langmuir model was 42.35 mg g-1under the optimal conditions of p H = 10 and adsorption time = 80 min. In particular, the uptake of MB onto FeFe2O4magnetic nanomaterial obtained from the kinetic and mechanism studies of the adsorption was in good agreement with prediction of the pseudo-first-order model, whereas the electrostatic interaction was found to play a primary mechanism.

Electro-hydraulic actuators(EHA)have recently played a signiﬁcant role in modern industrial applications,especially in systems requiring extremely high *** can be explained by EHA’s ability to precisely control the position and force through advanced sensors and innovative control *** of the promising approaches to improve control accuracy for EHA systems is applying classical to modern control algorithms,in which the proportional–inte-gral–derivative(PID)algorithm,fuzzy logic controller,and a hybrid of these methods are popular *** this paper,we developed a novel version of the fuzzy control algorithm and linear feedback control method,namely fuzzy lin-ear feedback control,to improve the control *** achieve the highest performance,weﬁrst designed a mathematical EHA model based on the Matlab/Simulink software packages thanks to the selected parameters,which are similar to a real EHA ***,we respectively applied PID,fuzzy PID(FPID),and fuzzy linear feedback control(FLFC)before comparing them to have a full view of the outstanding advantages of the proposed *** simulation results showed that the proposed FLFC algorithm is approximately 99%and 77%super-ior in performance to the PID and feedback control algorithms,respectively.

Prevalence of metabolic syndrome in adults in Khanh Hoa,Viet Nam

Background The metabolic syndrome (MS) is characterized by a specific clustering of risk factors, including dyslipidemia, central adiposity, systemic hypertension, insulin resistance, and dysglycemia. It is associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). Accurate data on prevalence and characteristics of MS will facilitate the development of preventive strategies for CVD. Objective To estimate accurately the prevalence of MS among Vietnamese adults with the usual criteria or with the criteria modified for Asian populations. Design and methods We studied a representative, cross-sectional, population-based sample of 856 subjects (mean age 52.82 ± 16.36) classified in three age groups from 15-34 years, 35-54 years and ＞ 54 years of age, living in Khanh Hoa Province, Viet Nam. MS was diagnosed according to the criteria defined by the Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program Expect Panel on Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ) (NCEP-ATP Ⅲ) and by the modified criteria for some Asian populations in which the waist circumference (WC) is considered abnormal if it is ＞ 90 cm for males and ＞ 80 cm for *** Using the NCEP-ATP Ⅲ criteria, the prevalence of MS in the studied population was 10.0％ (CI 95 ％:8.1-12.3). It was 2.4 ％ in the 15-34 age group (men 4.5％ and women 1.2％),5.2％ (men 6.3％,women 4.5％ ) in 35-54 age group and 15.8％ (men 9.7％, women 21.7％) in over 54 age group, respectively. And it was more common in women than in men (11.7％ vs 8.0％, P ＜0.001). Using 2001 population census data of the whole province over 15 years (695 218 habitants) we estimated that about 35 193 people suffered from the *** WC was the least common feature of MS (2.1％ for men and in 6.1％ for women).Overall,45.2 ％ of the studied population had one feature of MS, 23.1％ had two features, 8.2％ had three features, 1.6％ had four features, and 0.2％ had all five features. Real-time in situ three-dimensional integral videography and surgical navigation using augmented reality: a pilot study

To evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of a three-dimensional augmented reality system incorporating integral videography for imaging oral and maxillofacial regions, based on preoperative computed tomography data. Three-dimensional surface models of the jawbones, based on the computed tomography data, were used to create the integral videography images of a subject＇s maxillofacial area. The three-dimensional augmented reality system （integral videography display, computed tomography, a position tracker and a computer） was used to generate a three-dimensional overlay that was projected on the surgical site via a half-silvered mirror. Thereafter, a feasibility study was performed on a volunteer. The accuracy of this system was verified on a solid model while simulating bone resection. Positional registration was attained by identifying and tracking the patient/surgical instrument＇s position. Thus, integral videography images of jawbones, teeth and the surgical tool were superimposed in the correct position. Stereoscopic images viewed from various angles were accurately displayed. Change in the viewing angle did not negatively affect the surgeon＇s ability to simultaneously observe the three-dimensional images and the patient, without special glasses. The difference in three-dimensional position of each measuring point on the solid model and augmented reality navigation was almost negligible （〈1 mm）; this indicates that the system was highly accurate. This augmented reality system was highly accurate and effective for surgical navigation and for overlaying a three-dimensional computed tomography image on a patient＇s surgical area, enabling the surgeon to understand the positional relationship between the preoperative image and the actual surgical site, with the naked eye.

A Tool for Public PM<sub>2.5</sub>-Concentration Advisory Based on Mobile Measurements

A tool was developed that interpolates mobile measurements of PM2.5-concentrations into unmonitored areas of the Fairbanksnonattainment area for public air-quality advisory. The tool uses simulations with theAlaskaadapted version of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) and the Community Modeling and Analysis Quality (CMAQ) modeling system as a database. The tool uses the GPS-data of the vehicle’s route, and the database to determine linear regression equations for the relationships between the PM2.5-concentrations at the locations on the route and those outside the route. Once the interpolation equations are determined, the tool uses the mobile measurements as input into these equations that interpolate the measurements into the unmonitored neighborhoods. An episode of winter 2009/10 served as database for the tool’s interpolation algorithm. An independent episode of winter 2010/11 served to demonstrate and evaluate the performance of the tool. The evaluation showed that the tool well reproduced the spatial distribution of the observed as well as simulated concentrations. It is demonstrated that the tool does not require a database that contains data of the episode for which the interpolation is to be made. Potential challenges in applying this tools and its transferability are discussed critically.

We present one-loop contributions for h→ℓℓγ with ℓ=νe,μ,τ,e,μ and e−e+→hγ in the U(1)_(B−L) extension of the standard model. In the phenomenological results, the signal strengths for h→ℓℓγ at the Large Hadron Collider and for e−e+→hγ at future lepton colliders are analyzed in the physical parameter space for both the vector and chiral B−L models. We found that the contributions from the neutral gauge boson Z′ to the signal strengths are rather small. Consequently, the effects will be difficult to probe at future colliders. However, the impacts of charged Higgs and CP-odd Higgs in the chiral B−L model on the signal strengths are significant and can be measured with the help of the initial polarization beams at future lepton colliders.
