This la.d use/la.d cover cha.ge study wa. conducted in a.a.fa.district of Ba.e zone, Oromia.Regiona. Sta.e, Southea.tern Ethiopia. The objectives of this study were to eva.ua.e the trends, drivers a.d its socio-economic a.d environmenta. implica.ion in study a.ea. a.descriptive resea.ch method wa. employed to a.hieve the intended objectives of the study. In the three yea.s (1976, 1995, a.d 2014) La.dsa. Sa.ellite ima.es a.d socio-economic survey were the ma.n da.a.sources for this study. ERDa. Ima.ine a.d a.ch-GIS tools were used to cla.sify a.d genera.e la.d use/la.d cover ma.s of the study a.ea. Survey questionna.res, key informa.t interviews, a.d field observa.ion were employed to obta.n informa.ion on drivers a.d its socio-economic a.d environmenta. implica.ion in the district. The results show tha. the la.d use/la.d cover of the study a.ea.ha. cha.ged dra.a.ica.ly during the period of 38 yea.s. a.ra.id loss of forest la.d a.d shrub la.d cover in the la.dsca.e took pla.e between 1976 a.d 2014. Conversely, a.riculture a.d gra.ing la.ds were increa.ed by 30% a.d 42% respectively a. the expense of the lost la.d use/la.d cover types. Forest la.d is the most converted cover type during the entire study period. In the 38 yea.s, forest la.ds diminished by over 65% of the origina. forest cover tha. wa. existed a. the ba.e yea. (1976). Objective: To present the molecula. cha.a.teriza.ion of Cysticercus tenuicollis(C. tenuicollis) of Ta.nia.hyda.igena.T. hyda.igena. from livestock isola.es in Egypt, a.d to introduce a.deta.led ima.e of C. tenuicollis infection in rumina.t a.ima.s in Upper ***: The preva.ence ra.es of C. tenuicollis infections a.ong the sla.ghtered a.ima.s from different orga.s were determined using the a.plifica.ion of sequencing of the MT-CO1 ***: In the present study the infection ra.es of C. tenuicollis were found to be 16%a.d 19% in sheep a.d goa. sa.ples respectively. Firstly we report one la.va. sta.e of T. hyda.igena.detected in the ca.el liver in Egypt. C. tenuicollis infection ma.ifested a.higher preva.ence in fema.es tha. in ma.es. Those a.ove two yea.s of a.e ma.ifested a.higher infection ra.e tha. younger a.ima.s. The preferred site for the infection wa. the omentum: a.70% preference in sheep a.d a.68% preference in goa.s. The molecula. cha.a.teriza.ion using the MT-CO1 gene of isola.es from sheep, goa.s a.d ca.els corresponded to T. hyda.igena. For this study, molecula. cha.a.teriza.ions of T. hyda.igena.were done for the first time in Egypt. Molecula. tools a.e of grea. a.sista.ce in cha.a.terizing the C. tenuicollis pa.a.ite especia.ly when the morphologica. cha.a.ter ca.not be detected, beca.se the meta.estodes a.e frequently confused with infection by the hyda.id cyst, especia.ly when these occur in the viscera. orga.s. In the present study,C. tenuicollis ma.ifested high identity in the goa. a.d sheep sa.ples, while differences were found more frequently in the ca.el sa.ples(10 ba.e pa.r).Conclusions: Clea.ly molecula. dia.nosis for C. tenuicollis infection significa.tly helps to differentia.e it from such other meta.estodes a. hyda.idosis, which ma.ifests a.completely different pa.hogenicity a.d requires different control progra.s.

The results which were a.hieved from the field mea.urements a.e correla.ed with the ma.n hydrogeologic control points such a. stora.e a.d tra.smissivity coefficients, groundwa.er depths, a.uifers thickness, la.era. extensions a.d groundwa.er recha.ge to cla.sify the hydrogeologic districts for development a.d exploita.ion. Ba.kground a.d goa.s Sexua. dysfunction is a.well-documented complica.ion of recta. ca.cer surgery, with a.reported incidence of 18% - 59%. The objective of this study is to eva.ua.e the incidence of sexua. dysfunction (SD) in ma.es a.ter ra.ica. resection for recta. ca.cer a.d to compa.e the outcome of open versus la.a.oscopic recta. resection for different a.e groups. Pa.ients a.d methods This prospective ra.domized study a.sessed outcomes in ma.e pa.ients tha. underwent recta. resection for recta. ca.cer from Ja.ua.y 2012 until Ma.ch 2015 a. two la.ge tertia.y hospita.s in Ca.ro, Egypt. The pa.ients were ra.domly a.loca.ed into two groups (la.a.oscopic a.d open technique) of 40 pa.ients ea.h using the odd number policy for pa.ient a.loca.ion. Pa.ients included in ea.h group were further subdivided into two groups a.cording to the type of recta. resection either a.terior resection (a.) or a.dominoperinea. resection (a.R). Erectile function wa. eva.ua.ed preopera.ively a.d postopera.ively a. 3 a.d 6 months using the Interna.iona. Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionna.re. Results There wa. no significa.t difference between the la.a.oscopic a.d open tota. mesorecta. excision (TME) groups when compa.ing IIEF score preopera.ively. a. 3 months postopera.ively, the la.a.oscopic a.m showed better results over the open a.m (a.norma. IIEF in 57.5% vs. 67.5%). The study demonstra.ed dra.a.ic improvement in SD in both groups a. 6 months postopera.ively (a.norma. IIEF score of 40% in the la.a.oscopic vs. 42.5% in the open a.m) with no significa.t difference in IIEF score between the two groups (p-va.ue 0.876). a. 3 a.d 6 months postopera.ively, younger pa.ients showed significa.t improvement in SD compa.ed to older pa.ients in both groups with more significa.t improvement in the la.a.oscopic group (16.7% vs. 40%). Purpose: Injury continues to be a. importa.t ca.se of morbidity a.d morta.ity in both developed a.d developing countries. Globa.ly, it is responsible for a.proxima.ely 5.8 million dea.hs per yea. a.d 91% of these dea.hs occur in developing countries. Roa. tra.fic collision, suicides a.d homicides a.e the lea.ing ca.se of tra.ma.ic dea.hs. Despite the fa.t tha. tra.ma.ic chest injury is being responsible for 10% of a.l tra.ma.rela.ed hospita. a.missions a.d 25% of tra.ma.rela.ed dea.hs a.ross the world including in Ethiopia. only few published studies showed the burden of tra.ma.ic chest injury in Ethiopia. So, this study a.ms a. a.sessing the cha.a.teristics a.d outcome of tra.ma.ic chest injury pa.ients visited Tikur a.besa.Specia.ized Hospita. (Ta.H) over one yea. ***: a.single center ba.ed retrospective study wa. done. We collected da.a.from pa.ients’ records to a.sess cha.a.teristics a.d outcome of tra.ma.ic chest injury a. Ta.H over one yea. period. a.l pa.ients dia.nosed with tra.ma.ic chest injury a.d received trea.ment a. the hospita. from Ja.ua.y 1 to December 31, 2016 rega.dless of its types a.d severity levels were included in the study. Pa.ients with incomplete medica. records for a. lea.t 20% of the study va.ia.les a.d without deta.led medica. history, or pa.ients died before receiving a.y hea.th ca.e were excluded from the study.
