Modeling the initiation of sediment motion under a wide range of flow conditions using a Geno-Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System method

The current study introduces a novel approach to estimate the incipient motion of sediments under a wide range of flow regimes by developing a fuzzy model with a fuzzy-band that refers to a transition from weak motion to general motion of *** partial sediment entrainment is defined by fuzzy sets considering the uncertainty related to the individual ratio of inertia to viscous forces which is the definition of shear Reynolds *** the current study,the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System（Mamdani FIS） is used to develop a comprehensive fuzzy model of the incipient motion of *** Mamdani FIS has a shortcoming regarding the training of the fuzzy *** estimate the dimensionless shear stress,a new method is developed by combining a genetic algorithm with the fuzzy approach which is named the Geno-Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System（GMFIS） *** performance of the GMFIS model is evaluated using experimental data by considering root mean square error（RMSE）,NashSutcliffe coefficient of efficiency（CE）,degree of robustness（Dr）,and concordance coefficient（CC） as evaluation *** GMFIS model performed very well based on the RMSE,CE,Dr,and CC values and satisfactorily represented the three types of incipient ***,a new range of fuzzy,dimensionless,critical shear stress values is established in all flow conditions from weak to general sediment entrainment.

Quantum key agreement is a promising key establishing protocol that can play a significant role in securing 5G/6G communication ***,Liu et al.(Quantum Information Processing 18(8):1-10,2019)proposed a multi-party quantum key agreement protocol based on four-qubit cluster states was *** aim of their protocol is to agree on a shared secret key among multiple remote *** et *** four-qubit cluster states to be the quantum resources and the X operation to securely share a secret *** addition,Liu et al.’s protocol guarantees that each participant makes an equal contribution to the final *** authors also claimed that the proposed protocol is secure against participant attack and dishonest participants cannot generate the final shared key ***,we show here that Liu et *** is insecure against a collusive attack,where dishonest participants can retrieve the private inputs of a trustworthy participant without being ***,the corresponding modifications are presented to address these security flaws in Liu et al.’s protocol.

Energy consumption has become a key metric for evaluating how good an embedded system is,alongside more performance metrics like respecting operation deadlines and speed of *** improvement is no longer the only metric by which optimality is *** fact,energy efficiency is becoming a preferred choice with a fundamental objective to optimize the system's *** this work,we propose an optimal energy efficient scheduling algorithm for aperiodic real-time jobs to reduce CPU energy ***,we apply the concept of real-time process scheduling to a dynamic voltage and frequency scaling(DVFS)*** address a variant of earliest deadline first(EDF)scheduling algorithm called energy saving-dynamic voltage and frequency scaling(ES-DVFS)algorithm that is suited to unpredictable future energy production and irregular job *** prove that ES-DVFS cannot attain a total value greater than C/ˆSα,whereˆS is the minimum speed of any job and C is the available energy *** also investigate the implications of having in advance,information about the largest job size and the minimum speed used for the competitive factor of *** show that such advance knowledge makes possible the design of semi-on-line algorithm,ES-DVFS∗∗,that achieved a constant competitive factor of 0.5 which is proved as an optimal competitive *** experimental study demonstrates that substantial energy savings and highest percentage of feasible job sets can be obtained through our solution that combines EDF and DVFS optimally under the given aperiodic jobs and energy models.

Transparency is a widely used but poorly defined term within the explainable artificial intelligence *** is due,in part,to the lack of an agreed definition and the overlap between the connected—sometimes used synonymously—concepts of interpretability and *** assert that transparency is the overarching concept,with the tenets of interpretability,explainability,and predictability *** draw on a portfolio of definitions for each of these distinct concepts to propose a human-swarm-teaming transparency and trust architecture(HST3-Architecture).The architecture reinforces transparency as a key contributor towards situation awareness,and consequently as an enabler for effective trustworthy human-swarm teaming(HST).

We evidence and study the differences in turbulence statistics in ocean dynamics carried by wind forcing at the air-sea interface. Surface currents at the air-sea interaction are of crucial importance because they transport heat from low to high latitudes. At first order, oceanic currents are generated by the balance of the Coriolis and pressure gradient forces(geostrophic current) and the balance of the Coriolis and the frictional forces dominated by wind stress(Ekman current) in the surface ocean layers. The study was conducted by computing statistical moments on the shapes of spectra computed within the framework of microcanonical multi-fractal formalism. Remotely sensed daily datasets derived from one year of altimetry and wind data were used in this study, allowing for the computation of two kinds of vector fields: geostrophy with and geostrophy without wind stress forcing. We explore the statistical properties of singularity spectra computed from velocity norms and vorticity data, notably in relation with kurtosis information to underline the differences in the turbulent regimes associated with both kinds of velocity fields.

Model predictive control(MPC)is an optimal control method that predicts the future states of the system being controlled and estimates the optimal control inputs that drive the predicted states to the required *** computations of the MPC are performed at pre-determined sample instances over a finite time *** number of sample instances and the horizon length determine the performance of the MPC and its computational cost.A long horizon with a large sample count allows the MPC to better estimate the inputs when the states have rapid changes over time,which results in better performance but at the expense of high computational ***,this long horizon is not always necessary,especially for slowly-varying *** this case,a short horizon with less sample count is preferable as the same MPC performance can be obtained but at a fraction of the computational *** this paper,we propose an adaptive regression-based MPC that predicts the best minimum horizon length and the sample count from several features extracted from the time-varying changes of the *** proposed technique builds a synthetic dataset using the system model and utilizes the dataset to train a support vector regressor that performs the *** proposed technique is experimentally compared with several state-of-the-art techniques on both linear and non-linear *** proposed technique shows a superior reduction in computational time with a reduction of about 35–65%compared with the other techniques without introducing a noticeable loss in performance.

High-grade pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia is a challenging diagnosis and itdoes not exhibit mass lesions. It is suspected based on changes in the mainpancreatic duct in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography. Sometimesonly an unclear duct shows in magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatographywith no focal strictures and upstream dilatation of the main pancreatic duct. Serialpancreatic juice cytology is valuable in diagnosis of those patients.

The linear, directly proportional, equations between the Arrhenius parameters(E_α, and log A) of the thermal decomposition and the crystal lattice free space per molecule, △V, of 22 nitramines are described. It is shown that, because of a significant limitation by the molecular structural characteristics of such compounds, they are divided into a number of partial relationships. These partial relationships divide the nitramines into a group of substances relating to dimethyl nitramine and a sub-group related to e-HNIW. These directly proportional equations mean that an increase in the △Vvalues is related to an increase in the thermal stability of the corresponding nitramines. A comparison with similar published dependencies for the impact and friction sensitivities, on the one hand, and with the relationship between the E_a values and the sum of the negative and positive extremes of molecular surface electrostatic potentials, on the other, confirms the well-known fact that intermolecular interaction in the nitramines studied plays a decisive role in the thermal reactivity of such compounds. The crystal lattice free space manifests itself here perhaps only in the solid state thermal decomposition of RDX, HMX and DINGU. This study again confirms a level of disorder in the distribution of the forces in the crystal lattice of the"common" quality of e-HNIW,compared with its "reduced sensitivity(RS)" or pure analogues.

Crystal lattice free volumes,△V,of 22 nitramines introduced into relationships of maximal theoretical crystal densities(TMD),detonation velocities(D)and volume heats of explosives(ρ.Q).Values of all these characteristics increase with an increase in the AV ***,more realistic dependencies for the TMD and D values are obtained by using correlations with ratio of the intrinsic molecular volume,Vint,to△V(***/△V),whereby the dependence on the D values reflects their similar relationship to a sum of the positive(VS,max)and negative(VS,min)extremes of the molecular surface electrostatic potentials(VS,∑).Also,directly proportional linear relationships are specified between the VS,∑ values on the one hand,and the △V and Vint/△V values,on the *** is stated that the crystal lattice free volumes might have a similar role in detonation of nitramines as the intermolecular force effect in their molecular crystals(they are as if representative of such forces).
