Fermented chili products are popular traditional fermented foods around the world. However， differences in microbial communities in fermented chilies from different regions and how they affect the flavor compounds in chili fermentation have not been reported. In this study， the dynamics of flavor compounds and microbial communities in fermented chilies from Sichuan， Guizhou， and Hunan were systematically investigated by macro-genome sequencing， solid phase microextraction-gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (SPME-GC-MS)， electronic nose， and electronic tongue techniques. Simultaneously， the microbial metabolic mechanisms and the relationship between flavor compounds and microbiome were unraveled through staged and simulated fermentation analysis. The results showed that 53 chemical odorants， including alcohols， esters， aldehydes， and acids， were identified as chemical markers to differentiate the regional samples. Twelve microbial species， including Staphylococcus xylosus， Unclassified staphylococcus species， Weissella confusus， Lactococcus cremoris， Lactococcus garvieae， Lactiplantibacillus sakei， Pediciococcus propionicigenes， Pediciococcus idahonensis， Pediciococcus aciditolerans， Nocardioides antri， Debaryomyces hansenii， and Colletotrichum scovillei， were identified as microbial markers to differentiate the regional samples. Correlation analysis showed that Lactobacillaceae was associated with fruity， floral， spicy， and fatty aromas. The electronic nose and tongue analysis results showed that 9 flavor and 8 taste indicators significantly differed between regional samples (P < 0.05). Additionally， flavor compounds and microbial diversity were robust under initial selection stress and showed higher diversity under metabolome-microbiome interactions. Importantly， simulated fermentation confirmed that metabolome-microbiome interactions drove the shift in microbial structure， metabolism， and flavor in regionally fermented chilies. This paper presents a performance analysis of novel doubledampedtuned alternating current (AC) filters in high voltage direct current(HVDC) systems. The proposed double-damped tuned AC filters offer theadvantages of improved performance of HVDC systems in terms of betterpower quality, high power factor, and lower total harmonic distortion (THD).The system under analysis consists of an 878 km long HVDC transmissionline connecting converter stations at Matiari and Lahore, two major cities inPakistan. The main focus of this research is to design a novel AC filter usingthe equivalent impedance method of two single-tuned and double-dampedtuned AC filters. Additionally, the impact of the damping resistor on the ACchannel is examined. TheTHDof theHVDCsystem with and without currentAC filters was also compared in this research and a double-damped tuned ACfilter was proposed. The results of the simulation represent that the proposeddouble-damped tuned AC filter is far smaller in size, offers better powerquality, and has a much lower THD compared to the AC filters currently inplace in the converter station. The simulation analysis was carried out utilizingpower systems computer-aided design (PSCAD) software.

Pretreatment of cyanided tailings by catalytic ozonation with Mn^(2+)/O^3

The increasing amount of cyanided tailings produced as a by-product has gained significant attention in recent years because of the rapid development of the gold industry and extensive exploitation of gold mineral resources. The effective use of these secondary resources is becoming an important and urgent problem for all environmental protection staff. Manganese-catalyzed ozonation for the pre-oxidation of cyanided tailings was studied and the effects of Mn2＋dosage, initial sulfuric acid concentration, ozone volume flow, temperature and agitation speed on pretreatment were examined. The optimum reaction conditions were observed to be： ore pulp density 2.5%, agitation speed 700 r/min,temperature 60°C, Mn2＋dosage 40 g/L, ozone volume flow 80 L/hr, initial sulfuric acid concentration 1 mol/L, and reaction time 6 hr. Under these conditions, the leaching rate of Fe and weight loss could reach 94.85% and 48.89% respectively. The leaching process of cyanided tailings by Mn2＋/O3 was analyzed, and it was found that the leaching of pyrite depends on synergetic oxidation by high-valent manganese and O3, in which the former played an important part.

In this study,a series of Co_3O_4/ mildly oxidized graphite oxide(mGO) nanocatalysts(Co_3O_4/ mGO-l,Co_3O_4/ mGO-2 and Co_3O_4/mGO-3) were synthesized through solvothermal method and used as a mediator for the heterogeneous peroxymonosulfate(PMS)*** performance of CO_3O_4 / mGO/PMS system was investigated using acid orange 7(AO7).Results showed that Co_3O_4/mGO-3 had the best degradation efficiency of AO7 and the removal rate was above 90%in about 6 *** phenomenon indicated the catalytic activity of Co_3O_4/mGO composites was related to the oxidation degree of graphite oxide(GO).In addition,experiments showed the content of Co_3O_4 had an effect on the catalytic *** composites were characterized with X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),FTIR,Raman,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).According to the charactrization and synergistic catalytic mechanism,the generation of Co—OH complexes found to be the initial step to activate PMS in the heterogeneous system of Co_3O_4/mGO hybrid.

Herein,we report the synthesis of interconnected hierarchical pore biochar(HTB)via an ice-templating strategy using bio-waste(tofukasu).The abundance of N-and O-containing functional groups in tofukasu makes it easy to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules and water clusters,resulting in nano-micro structures like ice clusters and snow crystals during freezing *** importantly,tofukasu will be squeezed by micron-scale snow crystals to form coiled sheet-like structures,and its surface and interior will be affected by needle-like ice nanocrystals from several nanometers to tens of nanometers to form transverse groove needles and *** ice crystals are then removed by sublimation with tofukasu,leaving the interconnected pore structure ***,the ice template synthesis strategy endowed the interconnected hierarchical pore structure of HTB with a large specific surface area(SBET,733 m^(2)⋅g^(−1))and hierarchical porosity(30.30%for mesopores/total pore volume ratio),which is significantly higher than the normal dry treated tofukasu biochar(TB),which had a SBET of 436 m^(2)⋅g^(−1) and contained 1.53%*** addition,the sheet-like structure with interconnected pores of HTB favors high exposure of active sites(N-and O-containing functional groups),and a fast electron transport *** a result,HTB had an excellent adsorption capacity of 159.65 mg⋅g^(−1),which is 4.7 times that of typical block biochar of TB(33.89 mg⋅g^(−1))according to Langmuir *** characterization,FTIR and XPS analysis showed that the mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)removal by HTB included electrostatic attraction,pore filling,reduction and surface complexation.

Mechanical properties of CNT reinforced hybrid functionally graded materials for bioimplants

The hybrid functionally graded materials(FGM) of hydroxyapatite(HA), stainless steel 316L(SS316L) and carbon nanotubes(CNT) were synthesized for biomedical implants. Three different types of FGM were produced by the combination of SS316 L and CNT to reinforce HA in discrete layers of FGM. In the first type of FGM, concentration of SS316 L was varied from 10% to 40%(mass fraction) with an increment of 10% to reinforce micro HA. In the second type of FGM, 0.5%(mass fraction) functionalized CNT was added by maintaining the rest of composition as that of the first type of FGM. In the third type of FGM, mixture of micro and nano HA(mass ratio1:1) was used, keeping rest of composition similar to the second type of FGM. All types of FGM were subjected to uniaxial compaction and sintered by pressureless sintering technique at similar compaction and sintering parameters. The results show that the densification is enhanced with the addition of CNT and nanocrystalline HA in the FGM. Hardness and fracture toughness increase in both FGM reinforced with CNT, but the increase of the hardness and fracture toughness are more pronounced in FGM with micro and nanocrystalline HA.

Self-developed Pneumatic Spraying Scrubber for Recovering NO_x from Metallurgical Exhaust

NOx is generally composed of NO,NO2,N2O,N2O4,and N2O5,which may form photochemical smoke and may lead to acid rain,greenhouse effect and destruction of the ozone layer in the *** this paper,a new pneumatic spraying scrubber was developed for recovering NOx from metallurgical *** this device,NOx was converted into nitric acid,which was then recycled in the oxidization *** with conventional pneumatic spraying scrubbers,the self-developed pneumatic spraying scrubber had significant advantages,such as the simple structure without liquid circulation pump,easy operation,energy conservation,and the high recovery *** influences of various parameters,such as the spray tube height,the spray nozzle diameter,the concentration and temperature of the absorbent,and the operating pressure,on the recovery of NOx were also *** best NOx removal efficiency was 76.08%.When the spray tube height was 0.74 m,the nozzle diameter was 0.5 mm,the absorbent content was 5%at 30℃,and the operating pressure was 0.15-0.17 *** invented pneumatic spraying scrubber successfully solves the problems of high-concentration NOx absorption and regeneration of nitric *** addition,the device can also absorb other harmful gases and provide a possible new treatment process for air pollution control.

The study of buoyancy driven flow within bottom-heated vertical concentric cylindrical enclosure was important with respect to the processes in chemical and nuclear industries. In this research paper, experimental and numerical study of the axial temperature gradient and the heat transfer mechanism within the enclosure were performed. The numerical simulations were validated by comparing the numerical results with experimentally measured axial temperature. The numerical results of the streamlines within the enclosure depicted the real picture of the buoyancy effects. Eighteen different experiments were performed by using inner cylinder of different materials and outer cylinder of different diameters within the bottom disc temperature range of 353 - 433 K. The CFD simulations were performed to study the buoyancy effects within the enclosure. At the bottom disc with temperature up to 393 K, the streamlines within the inner cylinder were almost the same for both con- figurations being independent of outer cylinder diameter, while at 433 K streamlines within the inner cylinders varied. With larger diameter outer cylinder configuration, the buoyancy effects in the outer annulus were stronger as compared to smaller one.

用一步合成自组装法制备出了氢氧化钴与还原氧化石墨烯(Co(OH)2/rGO)的复合催化剂,并将其用于水中染料的催化降解实验.通过X射线衍射(XRD),激光拉曼(Raman)光谱,透射电镜(TEM),X射线能量色散谱(EDS)以及X射线光电子能谱(XPS)等一系列分析手段对催化剂的结构形貌进行了详细的表征,表征结果证实氢氧化钴很好地附着在还原石墨烯的表面.最后初步考察了催化剂催化单过硫酸钾(PMS)降解酸性橙(AO7)的性能.结果表明,催化剂显示出了高效的催化性能,酸性橙的色度可在12 min内完全去除,总有机碳(TOC)实验也表明染料降解的同时也可获得较高的矿化度.循环稳定性实验表明在进行到第三次实验时,催化剂仍能保持高的催化活性,将酸性橙在16 min内降解完毕.
