Triclosan(TCS)is widely used in personal-care products because of its bactericidal and antibacterial ***,TCS and its toxic byproducts have been detected in aquatic environments,animals,and plants *** is a common phenolic environmental endocrine disruptor,and TCS in the environment enters the body mainly through diet and *** of the absorbed TCS is metabolized by the human kidneys and is eliminated in the urine[1].Some epidemiological studies have suggested a positive correlation between the TCS exposure level in urine and albumin(a biomarker of renal function),which could cause renal dysfunction[2].However,the potential effects of TCS on the mammalian kidney and its mechanisms are currently ***,we initiated an in vitro trial to study the molecular mechanism of cytotoxicity of TCS to glomeruli.

Despite the fact that numerous infection-resistant surfaces have been developed to prevent bacterial colonization and biofilm formation, developing a stable, highly antibacterial and easily produced surface remains a technical challenge. As a crucial structural component of biofilm, extracellular DNA（eDNA） can facilitate initial bacterial adhesion, subsequent development, and final maturation. Inspired by the mechanistic pathways of natural enzymes（deoxyribonuclease）, here we report a novel antibacterial surface by employing cerium（Ce（Ⅳ）） ion to mimic theDNA-cleavage ability of natural enzymes. In this process, the coordination chemistry of plant polyphenols and metal ions was exploited to create an in situ metal-phenolic film on substrate surfaces. Tannic acid（TA） works as an essential scaffold and Ce（Ⅳ） ion acts as both a cross-linker and a destructor of eDNA. The Ce（Ⅳ）-TA modified surface exhibited highly enhanced bacteria repellency and biofilm inhibition when compared with those of pristine or Fe（Ⅲ）-TA modified samples. Moreover, the easily produced coatings showed high stability under physiological conditions and had nontoxicity to cells for prolonged periods of time. This as-prepared DNA-cleavage surface presents versatile and promising performances to combat biomaterial-associated infections.

Microglia are the main non-neuronal cells in the central nervous system that have important roles in brain development and functional connectivity of neural *** brain physiology,highly dynamic microglial processes are facilitated to sense the surrounding environment and *** the brain switches its functional states,microglia are recruited to specific sites to exert their immune functions,including the release of cytokines and phagocytosis of cellular *** crosstalk of microglia between neurons,neural stem cells,endothelial cells,oligodendrocytes,and astrocytes contributes to their functions in synapse pruning,neurogenesis,vascularization,myelination,and blood-brain barrier *** this review,we highlight the neuron-derived“find-me,”“eat-me,”and“don't eat-me”molecular signals that drive microglia in response to changes in neuronal activity for synapse refinement during brain *** review reveals the molecular mechanism of neuron-microglia interaction in synaptic pruning and presents novel ideas for the synaptic pruning of microglia in disease,thereby providing important clues for discovery of target drugs and development of nervous system disease treatment methods targeting synaptic dysfunction.

Chiral luminescence materials have potential applications in the field of three-dimensional displays due to their circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)***,the further development of circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs)needs to meet the requirements of high efficiency,high color purity,low cost,and high dissymmetry factor(gPLor gEL),chiral multiple resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence(MR-TADF)materials are considered as candidates in these ***,based on a pair of chiral spirofluorene precursors,two pairs of high-performance chiral MR-TADF emitters((R/S)-p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and(R/S)-m-Spiro-DtBuCzB)are developed,which exhibit strong emissions peaking at 491 and 502 nm in toluene with full-width at half-maximum values of 25 and 33 nm,*** addition,small singlet–triplet energy gaps of 0.15 and 0.10 eV with high absolute photoluminescence efficiencies of 95.0%and 96.7%are observed for p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and m-Spiro-DtBuCzB molecules,*** based on p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and m-Spiro-DtBuCzB display high maximum external quantum efficiencies of 29.6%and 33.8%,*** importantly,CP-OLEDs present symmetric circularly polarized electroluminescence spectra with|gEL|factors of 3.36×10^(-4)and 7.66×10^(-4)for devices based on(R/S)-p-Spiro-DtBuCzB and(R/S)-m-Spiro-DtBuCzB enantiomers,respectively.

Background:Soil seed banks may offer great potential for maintaining and restoring desert ecosystems that have been degraded by climate change and anthropogenic ***,few studies have explored the year‑to‑year dynamics in the species composition(richness and abundance)of these desert soil seed ***,we conducted a 4‑year study to assess the effects of environmental factors(meteorology and microtopography)and aboveground vegetation on the soil seed bank of the Tengger Desert,***:We found the seed bank was dominated by annual herb species both in species richness and *** rainfall in the growing season increased the number of seeds in the soil seed bank,and quadrat micro‑elevation had a negative effect on soil seed bank *** species composition in the seed bank had significantly larger between‑year similarity than that in the aboveground vegetation due to the dominance of annual herb *** different life forms,the species composition of annual herbs showed distinctly larger temporal similarity between the aboveground vegetation and the seed bank compared with perennial herbs and ***:Our findings highlight that the combined effects of environmental factors and plant life forms deter‑mine the species composition(especially the abundance)of soil seed banks in ***,if degraded desert ecosystems are left to regenerate naturally,the lack of shrub and perennial herb seeds could crucially limit their *** intervention and management may have to be applied to enhance the seed abundance of perennial lifeforms in degraded deserts.

Stability of perfect and imperfect cylindrical shells under axial compression and torsion

Stability analyses of perfect and imperfect cylindrical shells under axial compression and torsion were presented. Finite element method for the stability analysis of perfect cylindrical shells was put forward through comparing critical loads and the first buckling modes with those obtained through theoretical analysis. Two typical initial defects, non-circularity and uneven thickness distribution, were studied. Critical loads decline with the increase of non-circularity, which exist in imperfect cylindrical shells under both axial compression and torsion. Non-circularity defect has no effect on the first buckling mode when cylindrical shell is under torsion. Unfortunately, it has a completely different buckling mode when cylindrical shell is under axial compression. Critical loads decline with the increase of thickness defect amplitude, which exist in imperfect cylindrical shells under both axial compression and torsion, too. A greater wave number is conducive to the stability of cylindrical shells. The first buckling mode of imperfect cylindrical shells under torsion maintains its original shape, but it changes with wave number when the cylindrical shell is under axial compression.

The corrosion behaviors of X65 steel in the artificial seawater at different hydrostatic pressures are investigated by potentiodynamic polarization measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements and weight loss *** corroded morphologies and the corrosion products are also investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis and Raman *** results show that the corrosion current increases as the hydrostatic pressure *** charge transfer resistance decreases as the hydrostatic pressure *** corrosion products are mainly composed of γ-FeOOH and Fe3O4 at the atmospheric pressure, while the main components are γ-FeOOH, Fe3O4, and γ-Fe2O3 at the high *** hydrostatic pressure accelerates the corrosion of X65 steel due to its effect on the chemical and physical properties of corrosion products, including the promoted reduction of γ-FeOOH and the wider and deeper cracks on the corrosion products layer.

Features of soil redistribution and major element migration in a karst hillslope of Southwest China

In this study, we investigated the spatial characteristics of the rate of soil distribution and the mechanism of major element migration in a typical karst hillslope in Guangxi Province, Southwestern China. Soil redistribution was examined using (137~)Cs technique under different hillslope components. With the combination of geochemical methods, the migration characteristics of major elements in soils of three hillslope components in both the horizontal and vertical directions were determined. Thirty-seven soil samples were collected and analyzed for 137 Cs and the major elements were determined. By using the profile distribution model the mean soil redistribution rates were found to be-17.01, 0.40 and-23.30t ha-1 yr-1 in the summit(BYSD), shoulder(BYSY) and toeslope(BYSJ) components of the studied hillslope, respectively. In comparison to BYSD, the sesquioxides of Fe_2O_3 and TiO_2 tend to be enriched, whereas the alkalis(CaO, MgO, Na_2O and K_2O) tend to be depleted, both in the shoulder and toeslope components. Due to human and animal activities, the contents of CaO, MgO, K_2O and Na_2O have somewhat increased within the topsoil. The results indicated that (137~)Cs activities are significantly correlated with clay particles and organic matter, and are affected by the pedogenic process and vegatation. Overall, it maybe necessary to use techniques such as (137~)Cs to investigate soil erosion with the combination of geochemical methods.
