This study aims to investigate the significance and biodegradation pathways of PHB-based bioplastic in anaerobic digesters treating food waste,where the reactor performance of changed methane generation,bioplastic biodegradation efficiency,and bioinformatic analysis of functional microbes were *** results showed that PHB-based plastic film could be partially biodegraded in the food waste digester,and a bioaugmentation use of Alcaligenes Faecalis(AF)and Bacillus Megaterium(BM)was beneficial to largely accelerate the degradation process through a beneficial shift of both the functional bacterial and archaeal *** community analysis indicated that the major bacterial species belonged to genera Candidatus_Cloacimonas,Rikenellaceae,and Defluviitoga,while the dominant methanogenic archaeal species belonged to genera Methanomassiliicoccus,Methanosarcina,and *** biodegradation analysis suggested that the optimal fractions of AF and BM for PHB-based plastic degradation were 50% AF and 75% BM,respectively,which deserves further optimization and scale-up *** finding of this study would contribute to the combined management of PHB-based bioplastic with food waste for clean energy recovery and a greener environment.

本文探討訊息傳播與政治操作之間的密切關係,考察其所牽涉之不同層面與内容。一般認爲,明朝特務政治乃受寵宦官藉以整肅異己之惡政。然而,這一情報系統如何在政治場域生根、發展與發揮作用,以及如何因應現實而調整,則多不甚了了。今由訊息掌控角度切入,考察情報與政治之關係。明朝自正統以來,政治情勢與訊息掌控關係密切,尤其成化朝之後,訊息的流動與掌控異常敏感,直接牽動政局。皇帝委任親信建立情報偵察系統,並刻意强化對訊息流通的控制;而儒臣群體則傾向於傳播訊息,公開討論,藉以製造輿論。訊息的傳播與控制成爲不同權位者角力、鬥争的攻防要地,甚至可以説政治操作的重要戰場就在訊息的掌控上。自此政治操作愈發複雜,除了表面的政見闡述與職權分配外,訊息掌控更屬要義。在政治場合中,訊息的搜集、利用、詮釋,乃至編造,已成爲重要的政治技藝。

Prophylactic treatment of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei K56 ameliorates asthma by regulating short-chain fatty acid production and Treg differentiation

Many studies have shown that the development of allergic asthma is associated with intestinal microbiota dysbiosis. Based on the gut-lung axis theory， probiotic intervention may be a potential strategy for respiratory diseases. Lacticaseibacillus paracasei K56 was reported to regulate gut microbiota in mice. However， its effect on allergic asthma has not been reported. In this study， we investigated the effect of the K56 on ovalbumin-induced asthma and its possible mechanisms. Our results showed that K56 reduced asthma symptoms and inflammatory cell infiltration in the lung of asthmatic mice. And K56 regulated the differentiation of helper T cells in the lung and intestine. Results from 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that K56 prophylaxis significantly elevated the richness of Akkermansia and Burkholderia. Meanwhile， K56 abrogated the decrease in the levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the feces. In addition， a rebound in the mRNA expression of the SCFA receptors was observed after K56 prophylaxis. Notably， the regulatory T cell (Treg) frequencies and the FFAR3 levels were positively correlated. These results suggest that K56 could attenuate asthma， possibly by modulating the intestinal microbiota and regulating Treg differentiation through SCFA metabolized. Our study showed that K56 may be used as a probiotic to prevent pulmonary inflammation and dysbiosis of the intestinal microbiota in allergic asthma.

Background Clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis, caused by the liver flukesClonorchis sinensis andOpisthorchis viverrini respectively, represent significant neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Asia. The co-existence of these pathogens in overlapping regions complicates effective disease control strategies. This study aimed to clarify the distribution and interaction of these diseases within Southeast *** We systematically collated occurrence records of human clonorchiasis (n = 1809) and opisthorchiasis (n = 731) across the Southeast Asia countries. Utilizing species distribution models incorporating environmental and climatic data, coupled machine learning algorithms with boosted regression trees, we predicted and distinguished endemic areas for each fluke species. Machine learning techniques, including geospatial analysis, were employed to delineate the boundaries between these *** Our analysis revealed that the endemic range ofC. sinensis andO. viverrini in Southeast Asia primarily spans across part of China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. During the period from 2000 to 2018, we identifiedC. sinensis infections in 84 distinct locations, predominantly in southern China (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) and northern Vietnam. In a stark contrast,O. viverrini was more widely distributed, with infections documented in 721 locations across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Critical environmental determinants were quantitatively analyzed, revealing annual mean temperatures ranging between 14 and 20 °C in clonorchiasis-endemic areas and 24–30 °C in opisthorchiasis regions (P < 0.05). The machine learning model effectively mapped a distinct demarcation zone, demonstrating a clear separation between the endemic areas of these two liver flukes with AUC from 0.9 to1. Observer Design —— A Survey

This paper surveys the results of observer design for linear time-invariant(L-T-I) deterministic irreducible open-loop systems(OLS), the most basic type of OLS. An observer estimates Kxx(t) signal where K is a constant and x(t) is the state vector of the OLS. Thus, an observer can be used as a feedback controller that implements state feedback control(SFC) or Kxx(t)-control,and observer design is therefore utterly important in all feedback control designs of state space theory. In this survey, the observer design results are divided into three categories and for three respective main purposes. The first category of observers estimate signal Kxx(t) only with a given K, and this survey has four conclusions: 1) Function observer that estimates Kxx(t) directly is more general than state observer that estimates x(t), and may be designed with order lower than that of state observer, and the additional design objective is to minimize observer order; 2) The function observer design problem has already been simplified to the solving of a single set of linear equations only while seeking the lowest possible number of rows of the solution matrix, and an apparently most effective and general algorithm of solving such a problem can guarantee unified upper and lower bounds of the observer order; 3) Because such a single set of linear equations is the simplest possible theoretical formulation of the design problem and such theoretical observer order bounds are the lowest possible, and because the general, simple, and explicit theoretical formula for the function observer order itself do not exist, the theoretical part of this design problem is solved; 4) Because the function observer order is generically near its upper bound, further improvement on the computational design algorithm so that the corresponding observer order can be further reduced,is generically not worthwhile. DYNAMIC RESOURCE ALLOCATION FOR EFFICIENT PATIENT SCHEDULING： A DATA-DRIVEN APPROACH

Efficient staff rostering and patient scheduling to meet outpatient demand is a very complex and dynamic task. Due to fluctuations in demand and specialist availability, specialist allocation must be very flexible and non-myopic. Medical specialists are typically restricted in sub-specialization, serve several patient groups and are the key resource in a chain of patient visits to the clinic and operating room （OR）. To overcome a myopic view of once-off appointment scheduling, we address the patient flow through a chain of patient appointments when allocating key resources to different patient groups. We present a new, data-driven algorithmic approach to automatic allocation of specialists to roster activities and patient groups. By their very nature, simplified mathematical models cannot capture the complexity that is characteristic to the system being modeled. In our approach, the allocation of specialists to their day-to-day activities is flexible and responsive to past and present key resource availability, as well as to past resource allocation. Variability in roster activities is actively minimized, in order to enhance the supply chain flow. With discrete-event simulation of the application case using empirical data, we illustrate how our approach improves patient Service Level （SL, percentage of patients served on-time） as well as Wait Time （days）, without change in resource capacity.
