Bone destruction induced by breast cancer metastasis causes severe complications,including death,in breast cancer *** between cancer cells and skeletal cells in metastatic bone microenvironments is a principal element that drives tumor progression and ***-derived factors play fundamental roles in this form of *** identify soluble factors released from cancer cells in bone metastasis,we established a highly bone-metastatic subline of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer *** subline(mtMDA)showed a markedly elevated ability to secrete S100A4 protein,which directly stimulated osteoclast formation via surface receptor *** S100A4 stimulated osteoclastogenesis in vitro and bone loss in *** medium from mtMDA cells in which S100A4 was knocked down had a reduced ability to stimulate ***,the S100A4 knockdown cells elicited less bone destruction in mice than the control knockdown *** addition,administration of an anti-S100A4 monoclonal antibody(mAb)that we developed attenuated the stimulation of osteoclastogenesis and bone loss by mtMDA in *** together,our results suggest that S100A4 released from breast cancer cells is an important player in the osteolysis caused by breast cancer bone metastasis.

BACKGROUND Transcutaneous oxygen pressure(TcpO2)is a precise method for determining oxygen perfusion in wounded *** device uses either electrochemical or optical *** To evaluate the usefulness of TcpO2 measurements on free flaps(FFs)in diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs).METHODS TcpO2 was measured in 17 patients with DFUs who underwent anterolateral thigh(ALT)-FF surgery and compared with 30 patients with DFU without FF *** Significant differences were observed in the ankle-brachial index;duration of diabetes;and haemoglobin,creatinine,and C-reactive protein levels between the two ***2 values were similar between two groups except on postoperative days 30 and 60 when the values in the ALT-FF group remained50 *** Even if the flap is clinically stable,sympathectomy due to adventitia stripping during anastomosis and arteriovenous shunt progression due to diabetic polyneuropathy could lead to low TcpO2 values in the ALT-FF owing to its thick fat tissues,which is supported by the slow recovery of the sympathetic tone following ***,TcpO2 measurements in patients with DFU who underwent FF reconstruction may be less accurate than in those who did not.

Investigation of Stresses on Tie Band Used to Wrap and Fasten Rolled Coils

The research was motivated to establish a scientific basis for the required number of steel tie bands used in wrapping and fastening hot rolled coils produced in steel manufacture lines for safe delivery and storage. Strain gages were installed on the tie bands and stress was recorded during the banding and delivery procedure of rolls in the field. The stress developing in the bands due to fastening of the roll and that due to springback of the coil were clearly distinguishable from the strain gage signals. Twelve hot rolled coils having different yield strength, thickness, width, and weight were tested in the recoiling field. The results showed the average tensile stress developing in the bands due to the fastening of the roll to be 151.7 ± 53.8MPa, which corresponded to one fourth of the failure strength of the steel band in the buckle region. In addition to the stress caused by fastening, average tensile stress caused by springback of the rolled coils was estimated to be 33 MPa. It increased to 79 MPa when one of the tie bands was removed from the roll. Comparing the measured stress due to springback with the theoretical stress formula yielded a proportional constant value of 0.219, and a correlation coefficient of 0.914, which demonstrate the formula to be useful in predicting springback stress. The average safety factor of the tie band was found to be 3.26 and it decreased to 2.60 when one of the bands was removed from the roll. The safety factor of the band was found to decrease with increased coil thickness because the current factory standard on the number of bands does not significantly take into account of increase in the springback force with increased coil thickness.

Germinal centres are the engines of antibody evolution. Here, using human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) Env protein immunogen priming in rhesus monkeys followed by a long period without further immunization, we demonstrate germinal centre B (BGC) cells that last for at least 6 months. A 186-fold increase in BGC cells was present by week 10 compared with conventional immunization. Single-cell transcriptional profiling showed that both light- and dark-zone germinal centre states were sustained. Antibody somatic hypermutation of BGC cells continued to accumulate throughout the 29-week priming period, with evidence of selective pressure. Env-binding BGC cells were still 49-fold above baseline at 29 weeks, which suggests that they could remain active for even longer periods of time. High titres of HIV-neutralizing antibodies were generated after a single booster immunization. Fully glycosylated HIV trimer protein is a complex antigen, posing considerable immunodominance challenges for B cells1,2. Memory B cells generated under these long priming conditions had higher levels of antibody somatic hypermutation, and both memory B cells and antibodies were more likely to recognize non-immunodominant epitopes. Numerous BGC cell lineage phylogenies spanning more than the 6-month germinal centre period were identified, demonstrating continuous germinal centre activity and selection for at least 191 days with no further antigen exposure. A long-prime, slow-delivery (12 days) immunization approach holds promise for difficult vaccine targets and suggests that patience can have great value for tuning of germinal centres to maximize antibody responses.

Currency exposures of the oil and natural gas stock prices in the Hushen-300 stock market： A nonlinear model approach

The paper embarks to investigate the relationship between currency risk and stock prices of the oil and natural gas exploitation industry in the value-weighted Hushen-300 stock market, by applying the standard Capital Asset Pricing Model （CAPM） and nonlinear exchange rate exposure model to the Renminbi against US dollar. The results show that the currency exposure does vary in the oil-gas stock prices throughout the bull and bear market. The study suggests that the models of the equilibrium exchange rate exposure must be extended to considering the nonlinear exchange rate exposure, the regime periods of bull and bear market, and the industry types that is sensitive to the currency exposures. The nonlinear dynamic relationship between the exchange rate changes and the Chinese energy stock prices throughout the bull and bear market add to the recent empirical evidences that foreign exchange markets and stock markets are closely correlated.

An Efficient Memory Management for Mobile Operating Systems Based on Prediction of Relaunch Distance

Recently,various mobile apps have included more features to improve user *** operating systems load as many apps into memory for faster app launching and *** least recently used(LRU)-based termination of cached apps is a widely adopted approach when free space of the main memory is running ***,the LRUbased cached app termination does not distinguish between frequently or infrequently used *** app launch performance degrades if LRU terminates frequently used *** studies have suggested the potential of using users’app usage patterns to predict the next app launch and address the limitations of the current least recently used(LRU)***,existing methods only focus on predicting the probability of the next launch and do not consider how soon the app will launch *** this paper,we present a new approach for predicting future app launches by utilizing the relaunch *** define the relaunch distance as the interval between two consecutive launches of an app and propose a memory management based on app relaunch prediction(M2ARP).M2ARP utilizes past app usage patterns to predict the relaunch *** uses the predicted relaunch distance to determine which apps are least likely to be launched soon and terminate them to improve the efficiency of the main memory.

Vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs)are mobile networks that use and transfer data with vehicles as the network ***,VANETs are essentially mobile ad-hoc networks(MANETs).They allow all the nodes to communicate and connect with one *** of the main requirements in a VANET is to provide self-decision capability to the *** memory,which stores all the previous routes,is used by the vehicles to choose the optimal *** networks,communication is *** cellular-based vehicle-to-everything(CV2X)communication,vital information is shared using the cooperative awareness message(CAM)that is broadcast by each *** are allocated in a distributed manner,which is known as Mode 4 *** support vector machine(SVM)algorithm is used in the SVM-CV2X-M4 system proposed in this *** k-fold model with different values of k is used to evaluate the accuracy of the SVM-CV2XM4 *** results show that the proposed system achieves an accuracy of 99.6%.Thus,the proposed system allows vehicles to choose the optimal route and is highly convenient for users.
