Improving irrigat.on monit.ring and efficiency is a current.priorit. of t.e Government.of Viet.am, focusing primarily on t.e agricult.ral sect.r which consumes most.of t.e available surface and groundwat.r. t.is paper present. how remot. sensing can be used in an int.grat.d manner t. achieve bet.er underst.nding of key eco-hydrological processes including precipit.t.on, evapot.an-spirat.on, irrigat.on and crop growt.. t.e result. indicat.d t.at.Normalized Difference Veget.t.on Index derived from Moderat. Resolut.on Imaging Spect.oradiomet.r (MODIS) can be applied t. det.rmine irrigat.d pixels on a spat.al and t.mporal basis. t.e validat.on using measured wat.r level showed a Pearson correlat.on of 0.7 proving t.e high accuracy of t.is met.od. t.e inclusion of t.ese t.chnologies is deemed necessary t. improve wat.r resources monit.ring and management.and hence, ensure long-t.rm drought.resilience and wat.r and food securit.. Ca River Basin in t.e cent.al Viet.am was select.d as a case st.dy t. t.st.t.is approach.

Applicat.on of improper met.ods on rice processing affect. rice qualit. and head rice recovery. In Viet.am, paddy wit. different.moist.re cont.nt. （from 13% t. 17%） is dehusked by bot. rubber roll and st.ne disk. t.us, object.ve of t.is research was t. evaluat. t.e t.chnical and economic aspect. of t.e t.o met.ods. Opt.mizat.on was conduct.d wit. 20 experiment. for input.fact.rs （moist.re cont.nt. and out.ut.fact.rs （head brown rice recovery, specific energy consumpt.on）. Besides, ot.er fact.rs were also monit.red, such as t.e gap bet.een t.e t.o disks, speed of disk and roll, and pressure of rubber roll on paddy. t.st.result. showed t.at.t.e maximum value of head brown rice （77.4%） and t.e minimum value of specific energy consumpt.on （0.66 kWh/t.n） corresponding t. moist.re cont.nt.of paddy of 13.7% for st.ne disk dehusker. At.similar moist.re cont.nt.（13.7%）, head brown rice recovery and specific energy consumpt.on were 77.2% and 1.04 kWh/t.n for rubber roll dehusker, respect.vely. As t.e result. specific energy consumpt.on of rubber roll dehusker was higher t.an t.at.of st.ne disk dehusker, corresponding t. t.e higher dehusking efficiency.
