Hardfacing coatings involve hard carbide/boride phases dispersed in a relatively soft steel *** the hardness measurements of hardfacing coatings,depending on the microstructure,both the hardness test method and the applied load affect the hardness results;therefore,they affect the wear performance predictions of the *** this reason,the proper hardness test method should be determined according to the microstructure of the coating,and the reliability of the obtained hardness data should be *** study aimed to determine the most suitable hardness test method for hypoeutectic and hypereutectic microstructures of hardfacing coatings by analyzing the reliability of Rockwell-C and Vickers hardness test *** analyses showed that Rockwell-C is not a suitable hardness test method for hypereutectic hardfacing *** on the relationship between wear resistance and hardness,Vickers hardness method was found more suitable for the considered materials.

采用绿色合成方法,将鼠尾草提取物用作还原和封端剂合成氧化镍纳米颗粒(NiO NPs)。此外,使用各种前驱体合成了NiO NPs,并使用扫描电子显微镜对其形貌进行了分析。利用傅里叶变换红外光谱和粉末X射线衍射(PXRD)对NiO NPs的结构进行了表征,使用振动样品磁强计测量了它们的磁性。PXRD研究表明,所有合成的NiO NPs都表现出具有高结晶度的面心立方相,并且形成了具有高纯度相的NiO。磁化研究结果表明,3种镍盐(乙酸盐、氯化物和硫酸盐)前驱体合成的NiO NPs分别表现出超顺磁、软铁磁和顺磁行为。

In this study, Al/p-Si and Al/Bi4Ti3O12/p-Si structures are fabricated and their interface states （Nss）, the values of series resistance （Rs）, and AC electrical conductivity （σac） are obtained each as a function of temperature using admit- tance spectroscopy method which includes capacitance-voltage （C-V） and conductance-voltage （G-V） measurements. In addition, the effect of interfacial Bi4Ti3012 （BTO） layer on the performance of the structure is investigated. The voltage- dependent profiles of Nss and Rs are obtained from the high-low frequency capacitance method and the Nicollian method, respectively. Experimental results show that Nss and Rs, as strong functions of temperature and applied bias voltage, each exhibit a peak, whose position shifts towards the reverse bias region, in the depletion region. Such a peak behavior is attributed to the particular distribution of Nss and the reordering and restructuring of Nss under the effect of temperature. The values of activation energy （Ea）, obtained from the slope of the Arrhenius plot, of both structures are obtained to be bias voltage-independent, and the Ea of the metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor （MFS） structure is found to be half that of the metal-semiconductor （MS） structure. Furthermore, other main electrical parameters, such as carrier concentration of acceptor atoms （NA）, built-in potential （Vbi）, Fermi energy （EF）, image force barrier lowering （△φb）, and barrier height （φb）, are extracted using reverse bias C 2-V characteristics as a function of temperature.

This study is a research on the utilization of dairy industry by-products in the practical production and long-term preservation of industrial microbial ***,lyophilized cultures were obtained by freeze-drying of Lactobacillus plantarum bacteria in large quantities and for a constant period of time in skimmed milk-based medium containing 5%acid casein,rennet casein,whey and demineralized *** cryoprotectants did not have significant protection against freeze-drying process,moreover,the use of rennet casein significantly reduced *** efficiency of the preservatives in preserving the viability during storage was very successful compared to the control ***-enriched cultures had high water activity and moisture,but high viability was maintained during *** powder morphologies of the cultures were differentiated by the use of different *** sizes of the cultures were parallel to the moisture *** size and distribution increased with *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)analysis,it was determined that the addition of casein protein increased the degradation temperature of the *** production of freeze-dried cultures became difficult with the use of ***,it was generally concluded that the protective properties of skimmed milk used for the preservation of *** could be improved by the addition of dairy by-products as a protective agent.

Background Vitamin D has been found to have a role in the function of the immune system. There have been a lot of studies investigating a relation between vitamin D and disease activity in ankylosing spondylitis （AS）. However, there have not been any studies arranging AS in groups according to vitamin D levels and determining any differences among these patients in terms of disease activity, functional status, quality of life, and other clinical parameters. The aim of this study is to compare 25-hydroxy-vitamin D3 （25（OH）D3） levels in AS patients with those in normal healthy subjects and to determine the relationship between 25（OH）D3 levels and AS disease activity, functional status, and quality of life. Methods Ninety-nine consecutive patients and 42 healthy volunteers were included in this study. After a comparison between the patient group and the control group, the patient group was divided into normal, insufficient and deficient subgroups according to the plasma 25（OH）D3 levels for another comparison. Results The differences in the 25（OH）D3 level between the patient and the control groups were statistically insignificant. The number of AS patients whose 25（OH）D3 levels were classified as normal, insufficient, and deficient were 34, 29, and 36, respectively. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate （ESR）, C-reactive protein （CRP）, and Bath AS Disease Activity Index （BASDAI） scores were higher in the low （including insufficient and deficient） 25（OH）D3 level subgroups （P 〈0.05）. The Bath AS Functional Index （BASFI） and AS Quality of Life （ASQoL） scores were significantly different between the normal and the deficient subgroups （P 〈0.05）. Pain, BASDAI, ESR, and CRP were inversely correlated to the 25（OH）D3 levels （P 〈0.05）. Conclusions The plasma 25（OH）D3 levels may decrease in AS patients and this may negatively affect disease activity, functional status and quality of life.

The influence of duplex surface treatments consisting of a DC-pulsed plasma nitriding process and subsequent coatings of CrN and TiAlN deposited by physical vapor deposition(PVD)on AISI H13 tool steel was studied in this *** treated samples were characterized using metallographic techniques,SEM,EDS,and microhardness ***-abrasive erosion wear tests were performed in a specifically designed wear tester in which the samples were rotated in a wear tank containing a mixture of distilled water and ceramic abrasive chips with a fixed rotational *** wear rates caused by the abrasive particle impacts were assessed based on accumulated weight loss *** worn surfaces were also characterized using optical microscopy,SEM,and *** measurements indicated a significant increase in the surface hardness of the duplex-treated *** surfaces of the samples with the TiAlN coating were approximately 15 times harder than that of the untreated samples and 3 times that of the plasma nitrided ***-abrasive erosion wear results showed that the duplex surface treatments,especially the CrN coating,displayed the highest erosion wear resistance.

A bibliometric analysis of academic publication on diabetic retinopathy disease trends during 1980-2014:a global and medical view

AIM： To investigate diabetic retinopathy（DR） literature using the Institute for Scientific Information（ISI） Web of Science（Wo S） database and to analyse the correlation results between socio-economic development datas and number of DR ***： The statistical analysis of the documents published during 1980-2014 was analysed. The data of this study were based on the database of Wo S. ＂Diabetic retinopathy＂ was used as the keywords to search the Wo S ***： The United States ranked first in the DR research with 1840 publications and 24.38% of the world production followed by England and Japan. Besides, the most productive country was Iceland. A high correlation was found between number of publications and 2014 gross domestic product（ GDP） values of 81 countries（r =0.800, P 〈0.001）. We found a significant correlation between number of publications and Human Development Index（HDI）（r =0.645, P =0.001）. There is a moderate correlation between people with diabetes and number of DR publications for 81 countries（r =0.514, P 〈0.01）. It could be analysed that estimated publication number with DR title will be 445 according to the regression curve constituted with cubic model in 2015（R2=1.000）.CONCLUSION： More DR studies have been published in developed countries, DR and other complications of diabetes have gradually increased in developing countries over recent decades. It can be expected that the number of DR studies will gradually increase in developing countries.

We present a comparison for the effect of condensation on the morphology and magnetic prop erties of oleic acid modified BaFe_(12)O_(19) *** different samples of BaFe_(12)O_(19) nanoparticles were synthesized by dehydration(Z1) and rotary evaporation(Z2) method,*** acid was used as the surface modification agent to observe the morphological and magnetic *** nanoparticles were analyzed by XRD,FTIR,TGA,SEM,and VSM techniques for structural and physicochemical characteris *** analysis reveals the phase as hexaferrite and the average crystallite size of Z1 and Z2 is 21±3 nm and 17±2 nm,*** evaporator accelerates the condensation process in viscous gel(Z2).Due to the use of rotary evaporator,the coating with oleic acid for Z2 product has been accomplished very well,as compared with *** a result,saturation magnetization of Z2 sample is much lower than that of Z1 sample.

Does the use of recombinant TSH in preparation for I-131 scintigraphy scan affect hearing function?

Objective: The objective of this study was to examine the effect of hypothyroidism on hearing function in patients surgically treated for differentiated thyroid cancer and subsequently experienced hypothyroidism during preparation for follow up I-131 scintigraphy scan by either recombinant human thyroid stimulating hormone(rhTSH) treatment or thyroid hormone withdrawal(THW).Methods: A total of 55 patients undergoing I-131 scintigraphy scan following surgeries for differentiated thyroid cancer were included in the study, including 25 patients prepared by administration of recombinant TSH(rhTSH Group) and 30 patients by thyroid hormone withdrawal(THW Group).Results: Air conduction thresholds at 1, 2 and 4 kHz for both ears were higher during hypothyroid period than during euthyroid period for patients in the THW group(p < 0.05) but not for patients in the rhTSH ***: Sensorineural hearing loss was detected, especially at low frequencies, in patients with DTC after surgical treatment whose hormone replacement therapy was withdrawn but not in those receiving rhTSH. It is therefore preferred to use rhTSH when preparing for I-131 scintigraphy scan in patients at risk for hearing loss.
