The Cp;Rh(Ⅲ)-catalyzed asymmetric cascade C-H coupling/intramolecular cyclization of azomethine imines with propargyl carbonates has been developed, affording a variety of chiral tetracyclic indenopyrazolopyrazolone frameworks with good substrate/functional group tolerance and enantioselectivity(up to 97:3 er). Combined experimental studies and DFT calculations revealed the Rh(Ⅲ)-catalyzed stepwise annulation process and clarified the synergy coordination mode of dual directing groups in tuning the selectivity.

Mid-infrared(MIR)fiber pulsed lasers are of tremendous application interest in eye-safe LIDAR,spectroscopy,chemical detection and medicine.So far,these MIR lasers largely required bulk optical elements,complex free-space light alignment and large footprint,precluding compact all-fiber structure.Here,we proposed and demonstrated an all-fiberized structured gain-switched Ho3+-doped ZBLAN fiber laser operating around 2.9μm.A home-made 1146 nm Raman fiber pulsed laser was utilized to pump highly concentrated single-cladding Ho3+-doped ZBLAN fiber with different lengths of 2 m or 0.25 m.A home-made MIR fiber mirror and a perpendicular-polished ZBLAN fiber end construct the all-fiberized MIR cavity.Stable gain-switched multiple states with a sub-pulse number tuned from 1 to 8 were observed.The effects of gain fiber length,pump power,pump repetition rate and output coupling ratio on performance of gain-switched pulses were further investigated in detail.The shortest pulse duration of 283 ns was attained with 10 kHz repetition rate.The pulsed laser,centered at 2.92μm,had a maximum average output power of 54.2 mW and a slope efficiency of 10.12%.It is,to the best of our knowledge,the first time to demonstrate a mid-infrared gain-switched Ho3+:ZBLAN fiber laser with compact all-fiber structure.

C-C bond activation has emerged as a powerful tool for the construction of complex molecules.Herein,we report a dual ligands relay-promoted transformation of unstrained aryl,alkenyl and alkynyl ketones to the corresponding polyfluoroarenes and nitriles via C-C(=O)bond cleavage and subsequent decarboxylative arylation process.Various polyfluoroarene and nitrile products are obtained in one pot under cyanide-free conditions.The protocol features high atom economy,broad functional group tolerance and excellent heterocyclic compatibility.The late-stage functionalization of the drug and natural product demonstrated the synthetic utility of our protocol.Furthermore,the decisive role of the dual ligands was clarified and the mechanistic rationale including theβ-C elimination as the rate-limiting step was supported by detailed density functional theory(DFT)studies.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by bacterial infection directly, and the dysregulation of host immune-inflammatory response finally destroys periodontal tissues. Current treatment strategies for periodontitis mainly involve mechanical scaling/root planing(SRP), surgical procedures,and systemic or localized delivery of antimicrobial agents. However, SRP or surgical treatment alone has unsatisfactory long-term effects and is easy to relapse. In addition, the existing drugs for local periodontal therapy do not stay in the periodontal pocket long enough and have difficulties in maintaining a steady, effective concentration to obtain a therapeutic effect, and continuous administration always causes drug resistance. Many recent studies have shown that adding bio-functional materials and drug delivery systems upregulates the therapeutic effectiveness of periodontitis. This review focuses on the role of biomaterials in periodontitis treatment and presents an overview of antibacterial therapy, host modulatory therapy, periodontal regeneration, and multifunctional regulation of periodontitis therapy. Biomaterials provide advanced approaches for periodontal therapy, and it is foreseeable that further understanding and applications of biomaterials will promote the development of periodontal therapy.

Here we developed a novel wavelength-switchable visible continuous-wave(CW)Pr^(3+):YLF laser around 670 nm.In single-wavelength laser operations,the maximum output powers of 2.60 W,1.26 W,and 0.21 W,the maximum slope efficiencies of 34.7%,27.3%,and 12.3%were achieved with good beam qualities(M^(2)<1.6)at 670.4 nm,674.2 nm,and 678.9 nm,respectively.Record-high output power(2.6 W)and record-high slope efficiency(34.7%)were achieved for the Pr^(3+):YLF laser operation at 670.4 nm.This is also the first demonstration of longer-wavelength peaks beyond 670 nm in the^(3)P_(1)→^(3)F_(3)transition of Pr^(3+):YLF.In multi-wavelength laser operations,the dual-wavelength lasings,including 670.1/674.8 nm,670.1/679.1 nm,and 675.0/679.4 nm,were obtained by fine adjustment of one/two etalons within the cavity.Furthermore,the triple-wavelength lasings,e.g.672.2/674.2/678.6 nm and 670.4/674.8/679.4 nm,were successfully demonstrated.Moreover,both the first-order vortex lasers(LG_(0)^(+1)and LG_(0)^(-1)modes)at 670.4 nm were obtained by off-axis pumping.

High-power continuous-wave ultraviolet lasers are useful for many applications.As ultraviolet laser sources,the wavelength switching capability and compact structure are very important to extend the applicability and improve the flexibility in practical applications.In this work,we present two simple and relatively compact schemes by laser diode pumping to obtain a watt-level single-wavelength 348.7-nm laser and discrete wavelength tunable ultraviolet lasers around 349 nm(from 334.7 to 364.5 nm)by intracavity frequency doubling based on Pr^(3+):YLF andβ-BBO crystals.The maximum output power of the single-wavelength 348.7-nm laser is 1.033 W.The output powers of the discrete wavelength tunable lasers are at the level of tens of milliwatts,except for two peaks at 348.7 and 360.3 nm with output powers of approximately 500 mW.In addition,simulations are carried out to explain the experimental results and clarify the tuning mechanisms.

Phosphate starvation leads to a strong reduction in shoot growth and yield in crops.The reduced shoot growth is caused by extensive gene expression reprogram-ming triggered by phosphate deficiency,which is not itself a direct consequence of low levels of shoot phosphorus.However,how phosphate starvation inhibits shoot growth in rice is still unclear.In this study,we determined the role of OsCYCP4s in the regulation of shoot growth in response to phosphate starvation in rice.We demonstrate that the ex-pression levels of OsCYCP4s,except OsCYCP4;3,were induced by phosphate starvation.Overexpression of the phosphate starvation induced OsCYCP4s could compete with the other cyclins for the binding with cyclin-dependent kinases,therefore suppressing growth by reducing cell proliferation.The phosphate starvation induced growth inhibition in the loss-of-function mutants cycp4;1,cycp4;2,and cycp4;4 is par-tially compromised.Furthermore,the expression of some phosphate starvation inducible genes is negatively modu-lated by these cyclins,which indicates that these OsCYCP4s may also be involved in phosphate starvation signaling.We conclude that phosphate starvation induced OsCYCP4s might coordinate phosphate starvation signaling and cell cycle progression under phosphate starvation stress.

Heart failure(HF) is a major clinical concern owing to its high prevalence and high mortality.Metabolomics,an effective approach to predict diagnostic biomarkers and to explore the altered metabolic pathways in pathogenesis,has been extensively applied in evaluating the course of diseases.In this study,we used this approach to analyse the abundance of metabolites,with liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer,in plasma samples from rats with transverse aortic constriction(TAC) and patients at different stages of HF.We compared the metabolic parameters within and between TAC rats and patients.An apparent metabolic shift was observed in rats,from compensated hypertrophy stage to decompensated hypertrophy stage,and in patients with HF,from stage A to stage B and subsequently stage C.Diagnostic biomarkers were predicted by comparing the variable importance in the projection scores and fold change analysis within and between rats and patients.Enrichment pathway analysis and network analysis provided an overview of the largely disturbed metabolic pathways,and those interfered at different stages and across species were confirmed.The significantly changed metabolites and pathways revealed the underlying mechanisms of HF pathogenesis,hinted at novel potential biomarkers,and provided potential therapeutic intervention targets for HF.

In the international community,the internal ethnic issues of one country can easily spread out of its borders through the impact of internal and external factors to affect the national security of other countries,known as the spillover effect.Presently,the ethnic issues of China's neighboring countries that have real consequences on the country's national security break down mainly into four types:the internal ethnic conflict,the transnational ethnic issue,the issues related with immigrants and the collaboration of the Three Forces.The risk of spillover can be summed up according to the intensity of its effect in five categories:infiltration,springboard,spillover,immigration and harassment.As diverse ethnic issues of the neighboring countries have different effects on China's national security,the Chinese government must grasp the core element of each issue to formulate specific policies.

目的探讨慢性根尖周炎患者使用iRoot SP单尖法充填治疗对远期预后的影响。方法前瞻性研究菏泽市中医医院口腔科于2019年6月至2022年6月收治的80例慢性根尖周炎患者,采用随机数表法分为观察组和对照组,每组各40例。对照组接受AH-Plus热牙胶垂直加压法充填,观察组以iRoot SP单尖法充填,两组患者术后均观察6个月。比较两组术后根管充填效果、根管数、充填时间,术前及术后24、48、72 h的疼痛评分,术前及术后3、6个月旧根尖周指数(O-PAI)评分,术后3、6个月根尖暗影情况,术后半年内肿胀、感染情况。结果对照组中有2例超填,4例欠填,其余均为恰填,观察组患者中有1例超填,2例欠填,其余均为恰填;观察组术后24、48、72 h疼痛评分低于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论iRoot SP单尖法充填法有助于改善慢性根尖周炎患者临床症状,缓解机体疼痛,可以提高治疗效果,且术中充填时间更短。
