This report presents the case of a 59-year-old man with severe COVID-19 that gradually progressed to cytokine release syndrome and then acute respiratory distress syndrome;he was successfully treated via integration of therapeutic plasma exchange and traditional Chinese *** patient initially presented with a sore throat,severe muscle aches,productive cough and *** the worsening of symptoms,remdesivir was ***,as the symptoms continued to worsen and a cytokine release syndrome was suspected,oxygen was provided through a high-flow nasal cannula(50 L/min)and therapeutic plasma exchange was performed to prevent worsening of the acute respiratory distress *** the same day,a course of traditional Chinese medicine was introduced in consultation with the infectious house *** patient’s symptoms gradually improved;the levels of C-reactive protein and D-dimers reduced,and the patient was weaned to a simple oxygen mask and eventually to room *** is the first reported case of the integration of these ***,they prevented the patient from requiring intubation,played a role in cytokine management,and also improved the clinical symptoms,including productive purulent sputum,cough,frequent stool passage and intermittent fever,with no adverse *** a result,the patient was discharged within two weeks of the integration of these ***,the integration of therapeutic plasma exchange and traditional Chinese medicine is an effective therapy for patients with severe COVID-19.

Methamphetamine(Meth)abuse can cause serious mental disorders,including anxiety and *** gut microbiota is a crucial contributor to maintaining host mental ***,we aim to investigate if microbiota participate in Meth-induced mental disorders,and the potential mechanisms ***,15 mg/kg Meth resulted in anxiety-and depression-like behaviors of mice successfully and suppressed the Sigma-1 receptor(SIGMAR1)/BDNF/TRKB pathway in the ***-while,Meth impaired gut homeostasis by arousing the Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)-related colonic inflammation,disturbing the gut microbiome and reducing the microbiota-derived short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs).Moreover,fecal microbiota from Meth-administrated mice mediated the colonic inflam-mation and reproduced anxiety-and depression-like behaviors in ***,SCFAs supple-mentation optimized Meth-induced microbial dysbiosis,ameliorated colonic inflammation,and repressed anxiety-and depression-like ***,Sigmarl knockout(Sigmar1^(-/-))repressed the BDNF/TRKB pathway and produced similar behavioral phenotypes with Meth exposure,and elim-inated the anti-anxiety and-depression effects of *** activation of SIGMAR1 with fluvoxamine attenuated Meth-induced anxiety-and depression-like *** findings indicated that gut microbiota-derived SCFAs could optimize gut homeostasis,and ameliorate Meth-induced mental disorders in a SIGMAR1-dependent *** study confirms the crucial role of microbiota in Methrelated mental disorders and provides a potential preemptive therapy.

Despite extensive eforts,COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is still at *** is an eftive approach to curb virus spread,but several variants(***,delta plus,omicron,and IHU)appear to weaken or possibly escape immune ***,novel and quickly scalable approaches to restrain SARS-CoV-2 are urgently *** evidences showed thermal sensitivity of SARS-CoV-2 and negative correlation between environmental temperature and COVID-19 transmission with unknown *** reveal a potential mechanism by which mild heat treatment destabilizes the wild-type RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(also known a nonstructural protein 12(NSP12))of SARS-CoV-2 as well as the P323L mutant commonly found in SARS-CoV-2 variants,including omicron and ***,heat treatment promotes E3 ubiquitin ligase ZNF598-dependent NSP12 ubiquitination leading to proteasomal degradation and significantly decreases SARS-CoV-2 RNA copy number and viral titer.A mild daily heat Ireatment maintains low levels of both wild-type and P323L mutant of NSP12,sugesting clinical ***',this novel mechanism,heat-induced NSP12 degradation,suggests a prospective heat-based intervention against SARS-CoV-2.

Recent progresses in three-dimensional （3D） bioprinting technology accelerate the coming of the era of personalized medicine. With vari- ous printing approaches and materials developed, 3D bioprinting may have a broad range of medical applications, including the fabrication of delicate tissues/organs/or the clinical use in the future or for the es- tablishment of tissues in disease models. The principal advantages of 3D bioprinting are personalized design and precise fabrication, which are of critical importance for tissue engineering. To date, several types of biomimetic tissues, such as cartilage, skin, and vascular tissues have been fabricated by 3D bioprinting （Liaw and Guvendiren, 2017）.
