A new family of dibenzoullazine derivatives was synthesized through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of polycyclic aromatic azomethine ylides with alkynylbenziodoxoles followed by oxidation.The benziodoxole moiety in the resulting products was used as a versatile linchpin for the synthesis of structurally diverse functional dibenzoullazines that are difficult to access by other synthetic methods.

Liquid hydrogen storage and transportation is an effective method for large-scale transportation and utilization of hydrogen energy. Revealing the flow mechanism of cryogenic working fluid is the key to optimize heat exchanger structure and hydrogen liquefaction process(LH2). The methods of cryogenic visualization experiment, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are conducted to study the falling film flow characteristics with the effect of co-current gas flow in LH2spiral wound heat exchanger.The results show that the flow rate of mixed refrigerant has a great influence on liquid film spreading process, falling film flow pattern and heat transfer performance. The liquid film of LH2mixed refrigerant with column flow pattern can not uniformly and completely cover the tube wall surface. As liquid flow rate increases, the falling film flow pattern evolves into sheet-column flow and sheet flow, and liquid film completely covers the surface of tube wall. With the increase of shear effect of gas-phase mixed refrigerant in the same direction, the liquid film gradually becomes unstable, and the flow pattern eventually evolves into a mist flow.

Objective:Hepatolenticular degeneration (HLD) is an autosomal recessive disorder that manifests as multiorgan damage due to impaired copper (Cu) metabolism. Female patients with HLD often experience reproductive impairments. This study investigated the protective effect of berberine against ovarian damage in toxic-milk (TX) mice, a murine model for HLD.Methods:Mice were categorized into control group, HLD TX group (HLD group), penicillamine (Cu chelator)-treated TX group and berberine-treated TX group. Body weight, ovary weight and the number of ovulated eggs were recorded. Follicular morphology and cellular ultrastructure were examined. Total iron, ferrous iron (Fe2+) and trivalent iron (Fe3+) levels, as well as malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione(GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG), were measured in the ovaries. Western blot analysis was used to analyze the expression of proteins related to ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.Results:Ovarian tissue damage was evident in the HLD group, with a significant increase in ferroptosis and ER stress compared to the control group. This damage was inhibited by treatment with penicillamine,a Cu chelator. Compared with the HLD group, berberine increased the number of ovulations, and improved ovarian morphology and ultrastructure. Further, we found that berberine reduced total iron,Fe2+, MDA and GSSG levels, elevated GSH levels, decreased the expression of the ferroptosis marker protein prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), and increased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4)expression. Furthermore, berberine inhibited the expression of ER stress-associated proteins mediated by the protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase (PERK) pathway.Conclusion:Ferroptosis and ER stress are involved in Cu-induced ovarian damage in TX mice. Berberine ameliorates ovarian damage in HLD TX mice by inhibiting ferroptosis and ER stress.

Polyhedral boranes are a class of well-known boron molecular clusters with unique physical and chemical properties,and great efforts have been made in the past decades to find more effective synthetic methods.However,the established synthetic methods suffer from low efficiency and low selectivity because the mechanism of the B-H bond condensation reaction,critical for the synthesis of the polyhedral boranes,is not well understood.Here we report highly selective and efficient synthetic methods of the salts of the tetradecahydridoundecaborate(1-)(B_(11)H^(-)_(14)) and dodecahydrido-dodecaborates(2-)(B_(12)H_(12)^(2-)) anions by employing commercially available and inexpensive starting materials.Both theoretical and experimental investigations are carried out to elucidate the reaction mechanisms.We have found that the nature of the B-H bond condensation is the dihydrogen bonding interaction in which the positively charged hydrogens(bridged hydrogens) play a crucial role.The current study has not only led to more effective and selective synthetic methods for B_(11)H^(-)_(14) and B_(12)H_(12)^(2-) but also unveiled the nature of the B-H bond condensation and the general formation mechanisms of polyhedral boranes.This finding will facilitate the development of more effective synthetic methods for polyhedral boranes and spur their wide application.

BACKGROUND In this randomized controlled trial(RCT)comparing current acupuncture with carbamazepine for trigeminal neuralgia,meta-and sequential analyses were utilized.AIM To guide clinical decision making regarding the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia with carbamazepine.METHODS The RCT literature on needle comparison was searched in various Chinese biomedical databases including Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Wanfang Data,VIP Database,as well as international databases such as Excerpt Medica Database,Cochrane Library,PubMed,and Web of Science,along with related clinical registration platforms such as World Health Organization International Clinical Trial Registry Platform,ChiCTR,and Clinical Trials up to 1 April 2020.Risk of bias was evaluated using the Cochrane Collaborative Risk Bias tool,primary outcome measures(pain reduction)were analyzed using STATA metaanalysis,outcome measures were analyzed using trial sequential analysis 0.***.5.10 Beta sequential analysis,GRADE was used to assess the evidence,and adverse reactions were documented.RESULTS This study analyzed 16 RCTs with a total of 1231 participants.The meta-analysis revealed a statistically significant difference in pain reduction between acupuncture and carbamazepine[standardized mean difference(SMD)=1.47;95%confidence interval(CI):0.99-1.95],although the quality of evidence was deemed to be of extremely low quality.Cumulative meta-analysis based on the year of publication indicated that carbamazepine treatment first demonstrated a statistically significant difference in pain reduction in 2014 and remained relatively stable over time[SMD=1.84;95%CI:0.22-3.47].Additionally,the number of adverse events associated with acupuncture was significantly lower compared to carbamazepine.CONCLUSION Acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia is better than analgesia and safer than carbamazepine;however,firm conclusions still require a high-quality,multicenter,large-sample RCT to confirm these findings.

Growing evidence supports that cancer progression is closely associated with the tumor microenvironment and immune evasion.Importantly,recent studies have revealed the crucial roles of epigenetic regulators in shaping the tumor microenvironment and restoring immune recognition.N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)modification,the most prevalent epigenetic modification of mammalian mRNAs,has essential functions in regulating the processing and metabolism of its targeted RNAs,and therefore affects various biological processes including tumorigenesis and progression.Recent studies have demonstrated the critical functions and molecular mechanisms underlying abnormal m^(6)A modification in the regulation of tumor immunity.In this review,we summarize recent research progress in the potential roles of m^(6)A modification in tumor immunoregulation,with a special focus on the anti-tumor processes of immune cells and involvement in immune-associated molecules and pathways.Furthermore,we review current knowledge regarding the close correlation between m6A-related risk signatures and the tumor immune microenvironment landscape,and we discuss the prognostic value and therapeutic efficacy of m^(6)A regulators in a variety of cancer types.

Voltage regulation based upon cyber systems has been extensively used with the development of cyber-physical systems.Still,cyber failure may result in controlling failure,which inevitably has an effect on the overall voltage performance of distribution networks.In order to access the influence of a cyber fault on voltage regulation,a cyber system validity model considering cyber soft failure is proposed.The analytical approach of voltage fluctuation and measurement indices of voltage fluctuation are also developed.Based on a simulation of a IEEE 33-bus system,the proposed model is proved to simulate the voltage regulation process taking cyber soft failure into consideration.Each influence of different fault factors is analyzed,which provides practical technical support for the planning and operation of the distribution system.This paper provides strategies for the research into cyber fault of distribution networks,which has critical significance along with follow-up value.

What is already known about this topic?As population aging becomes serious in China,the elderly health problems stand out prominently.The 2-week prevalence of the elderly is rising year by year,but it has been rarely studied for the rural seniors in the central and western China.What is added by this report?The 2-week prevalence rate of rural elderly in the central and western China is 28.5%,and it varies among different ethnic groups.The top prevalence is chronic diseases,and the severity of diseases is higher in female and high age group(80-year-old and over)people.What are the implications for public health practice?Considering the health status,health awareness and ethnic differences of the elderly in the central and western China,medical and health resources should be rationally allocated to prevent and treat chronic diseases and support differentiated health services.This is of great significance for the development of health service plan.
