In this study, a high-carbon nano-bainitic GCr15Si1Mo bearing steel was investigated. Specifically, the effects of content and size of undissolved carbides on the microstructure and transformation kinetics of nano-bainite were analyzed. The results demonstrated that after prolonged austempering at low temperatures, the mixed microstructure composed of nano-bainite (NB), undissolved carbides (UC), and retained austenite (RA) was obtained in GCr15SiMo steel. When the experimental steel was austenitized at 900 ℃, the undissolved carbides gradually dissolved until reaching a stable state with increasing holding time. Furthermore, at the same austempering temperature, despite different volume fractions of undissolved carbides in the substrate, the volume fractions of nano-bainite in the final microstructures remained essentially the same. Moreover, the higher the content of undissolved carbides in steel, the faster the transformation rate of nano-bainite and the shorter the total transformation time.

Elucidating and manipulating pressure-induced water intrusion–extrusion in tunable hydrophobic Co/Zn bimetallic ZIFs:Roles of pore size and hydrogen bond

Porous heterogeneous lyophobic systems(HLSs)find potential applications in energy restoring,dissipating,and ***,the development of controllable HLSs still lacks rational structure design of nanoporous materials matching the molecular sizes of adopted *** that,thoroughly understanding the underlying transportation mechanism in the confined nano channels is greatly *** this work,a series of Co/Zn bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)with tunable structures were synthesized via regulating the Co to Zn ratios and employed to investigate the intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in confined *** characterizations confirm the heterometallic coordination in the Co/Zn-doped *** intrusion–extrusion experiments unlock the relationship between the intrusion pressure and the nanopore size and realize the evolution of the HLSs between molecular spring and *** addition,cycling tests indicate the reversible structure change of Co/Zn ZIFs encountering pressure-induced water *** combination with molecular dynamics simulations,we present that the water multimers intrude into nanopores of ZIFs in chain-like forms along with dissociation of hydrogen bonds(HBs).Water molecules in the pre-intrusion state exhibit reduced HBs in response to the increase of pressure and linear structure with 1.6–3.0 HBs on *** transition to the post-intrusion situation,the associative configuration of water tends to exhibit the tetrahedral ***,we highlight the roles of pore size and HB in synergically dominating the pressure-induced intrusion–extrusion of liquid water in hydrophobic ***,the present work can also guide the development of functional guest–host systems based on porous architectures.

Quantitatively establishing the correlation between nanoparticle size and fluorescence is essential for understanding the behavior and functionality of fluorescent nanoparticles(FNPs).However,such exploration focusing on organic FNPs has not been achieved to ***,we employ the use of supramolecular polymeric FNPs prepared from tetraphenylethylene-based bis-ureidopyrimidinone monomers(bis-UPys)to relate the size to the fluorescence of organic *** an equal concentration of bis-UPys,a logarithmic relationship between them is built with a correlation coefficient higher than *** calculations indicate that variations in fluorescence intensity among FNPs of different sizes are attributed to the distinct molecular packing environments at the surface and within the interior of the *** leads to different nonradiative decay rates of the embedded and exposed bis-UPys and thereby changes the overall fluorescence quantum yield of nanoparticles due to their different specific surface *** established fluorescence intensity-size correlation possesses fine universality and reliability,and it is successfully utilized to estimate the sizes of other nanoparticles,including those in highly diluted dispersions of *** work paves a new way for the simple and real-time determination of nanoparticle sizes and offers an attractive paradigm to optimize nanoparticle functionalities by the size effect.

Jetting of a near-wall cavitation bubble induced by another tandem bubble

Double bubbles near a rigid wall surface collapse to produce a significant jet impact,with potential applications in surface cleaning and ultrasonic ***,the dynamic behaviors of near-wall bubbles remain *** this study,we investigate the jetting of a near-wall bubble induced by another tandem *** define two dimensionless standoff distances,γ_(1),γ_(2),to represent the distances from the center of the near-wall bubble to the rigid wall and the center of controlling bubble to the center of the near-wall bubble,*** observations reveal three distinct jetting regimes for the near-wall bubble:transferred jetting,double jetting,and directed *** further investigate the jetting mechanism,numerical simulations are conducted using the compressibleInterFoam solver in the open-source framework of OpenFOAM.A detailed analysis shows that the transferred jet flow is caused by the pinch-off resulting from the axial contraction velocity at the lower end of the near-wall bubble being greater than the vertical contraction velocity,leading to a maximum jet velocity of 682.58 m/*** the case of double jetting,intense stretching between the controlling bubble and the wall leads to a pinch-off and a double jetting with a maximum velocity of 1096.29 m/*** directed jet flow is caused by the downward movement of the high-pressure region generated by the premature collapse of the controlling bubble,with the maximum jet velocity reaching 444.62 m/s.

Enhancing thermodynamic stability of single-crystal Ni-rich cathode material via a synergistic dual-substitution strategy

Nickel(Ni)-rich cathode materials have become promising candidates for the next-generation electrical vehicles due to their high specific ***,the poor thermodynamic stability(including cyclic performance and safety performance or thermal stability)will restrain their wide commercial ***,a single-crystal Ni-rich Li Ni_(0.83)Co_(0.12)Mn_(0.05)O_(2) cathode material is synthesized and modified by a dual-substitution strategy in which the high-valence doping element improves the structural stability by forming strong metal–oxygen binding forces,while the low-valence doping element eliminates high Li^(+)/Ni^(2+)*** a result,this synergistic dual substitution can effectively suppress H2-H3 phase transition and generation of microcracks,thereby ultimately improving the thermodynamic stability of Ni-rich cathode ***,the dual-doped Ni-rich cathode delivers an extremely high capacity retention of 81%after 250 cycles(***/Li+)in coin-type half cells and 87%after 1000 cycles(***/Li^(+))in pouch-type full cells at a high temperature of 55℃.More impressively,the dual-doped sample exhibits excellent thermal stability,which demonstrates a higher thermal runaway temperature and a lower calorific *** synergetic effects of this dual-substitution strategy pave a new pathway for addressing the critical challenges of Ni-rich cathode at high temperatures,which will significantly advance the high-energy-density and high-safety cathodes to the subsequent commercialization.

A low-swelling hydrogel as a multirole sealant for efficient dural defect sealing and prevention of postoperative adhesion

Dural defects and subsequent complications, including cerebrospinal fluid（CSF） leakage, are common in both spine surgery and neurosurgery, and existing clinical treatments are still unsatisfactory. In this study, a tissue-adhesive and low-swelling hydrogel sealant comprising gelatin and o-phthalaldehyde（OPA）-terminated 4-armed poly（ethylene glycol）(4aPEG-OPA) is developed via the OPA/amine condensation reaction. The hydrogel shows an adhesive strength of 79.9 ± 12.0 k Pa on porcine casing and a burst pressure of 208.0 ± 38.0 cm H2O. The hydrogel exhibits a low swelling ratio at physiological conditions, avoiding nerve compression in the limited spinal and intracranial spaces. In rat and rabbit models of lumbar and cerebral dural defects, the 4aPEG-OPA/gelatin hydrogel achieves excellent performance in dural defect sealing and preventing CSF leakage. Moreover, local inflammation, epidural fibrosis and postoperative adhesion in the defect areas are markedly reduced. Thus, these findings establish the strong potential of the hydrogel sealant for the effective watertight closure of dural defects.

Renewable conversion of coal gangue to 13-X molecular sieve for Cd^(2+)-containing wastewater adsorption performance

Using coal gangue(CG)as raw material,a new type of all solid-waste-based 13-X molecular sieve material was controllably prepared by alkali fusion-hydrothermal *** synthetic molecular sieve was used as a solid adsorbent to treat Cd^(2+)-containing wastewater,and its adsorption behavior on Cd^(2+)in aqueous solution was studied and *** microstructure and morphology of the molecular sieve were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)and specific surface area *** results show that the synthesized 13-X molecular sieve has higher Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)specific surface area with higher crystallinity and higher adsorption capacity for the heavy metal Cd^(2+).The adsorption process of Cd^(2+)by molecular sieve conforms to the Langmuir isotherm adsorption equation and Lagergren pseudo-second-order rate *** with thermodynamic calculation,it can be concluded that the adsorption process is physically monolayer,spontaneous and *** this study,a low-cost and naturally available synthesis method of 13-X molecular sieve is *** with its adsorption mechanism for Cd^(2+),it provides a feasible and general method for removing heavy metal ions from coal gangue and also provides a new way for the utilization of coal gangue with high added value.

Gas therapy is emerging as a highly promising therapeutic strategy for cancer ***,there are limitations,including the lack of targeted subcellular organelle accuracy and spatiotemporal release precision,associated with gas *** this study,we developed a series of photoactivatable nitric oxide(NO)donors NRh-R-NO(R=Me,Et,Bn,iPr,and Ph)based on an N-nitrosated upconversion luminescent rhodamine *** the irradiation of 808 nm light,only NRh-Ph-NO could effectively release NO and NRh-Ph with a significant turn-on frequency upconversion luminescence(FUCL)signal at 740 nm,ascribed to lower N-N bond dissociation *** also investigated the involved multistage near-infrared-controlled cascade release of gas therapy,including the NO released from NRh-Ph-NO along with one NRh-Ph molecule generation,the superoxide anion O_(2)^(⋅−)produced by the photodynamic therapy(PDT)effect of NRh-Ph,and highly toxic peroxynitrite anion(ONOO‒)generated from the co-existence of NO and O_(2)^(⋅−).After mild nano-modification,the nanogenerator(NRh-Ph-NO NPs)empowered with superior biocompatibility could target *** an 808 nm laser irradiation,NRh-Ph-NO NPs could induce NO/ROS to generate RNS,causing a decrease in the mitochondrial membrane potential and initiating apoptosis by caspase-3 activation,which further induced tumor immunogenic cell death(ICD).In vivo therapeutic results of NRh-Ph-NO NPs showed augmented RNS-potentiated gas therapy,demonstrating excellent biocompatibility and effective tumor inhibition guided by real-time FUCL ***,this versatile strategy defines the targeted RNS-mediated cancer therapy.

Two-dimensional MoSe_(2) is a promising candidate for lithium-ion battery ***,its conductivity and lithium storage volumetric effect still need to be *** this work,W-doped MoSe_(2)/rGO paper-like microspheres are successfully prepared through ultrasonic spray pyrolysis,achieving optimization at both the microstructure and mesostructure to enhance the lithium storage performance of the ***,by utilizing the similar two-dimensional structure between MoSe_(2) and rGO,self-assembly is achieved through spray pyrolysis,resulting in a well-defined van der Waals heterostructure at the interface on the microscale,enhancing the electron and ion transfer capability of the ***,the mesoscale paper-like microsphere morphology provides additional volume expansion buffering ***,W-doping not only increases the interlayer spacing of MoSe_(2)(0.73 nm),thereby reducing the diffusion resistance of Li+,but also allow for the modulation of the energy band structure of the *** functional theory(DFT)calculations confirm that W-doped MoSe_(2)/rGO exhibits the narrowest bandgap(0.892 eV).Therefore,the composite demonstrates excellent lithium storage performance,maintaining a specific capacity of 732.9 mAh·g^(-1)after 300 cycles at a current density of 1 A·g^(-1).
