we discuss the crystal,electronic,and magnetic structures of La_(2−x)Sr_(x)CuO_(4)(LSCO)for x=0.0 and x=0.25 employing 13 density functional approximations,representing the local,semi-local,and hybrid exchange-correlation approximations within the Perdew–Schmidt *** meta-generalized gradient approximation(meta-GGA)class of functionals is found to perform well in capturing the key properties of LSCO,a prototypical high-temperature cuprate *** contrast,the localspin-density approximation,GGA,and the hybrid density functional fail to capture the metal-insulator transition under doping.

Optical and magnetic properties of GaN epilayers implanted with ytterbium

Shock compression experiments were conducted on melanterite samples with an initial density of 1,714g/cm3 up to 100GPa. The experimental data can be divided into a low-pressure region consisting of a partially molten state, and a completely liquid state at high-pressure. The shock velocity us is a linear function of the particle velocity uP in these two regimes: us=0.59+2.06uP for uP us =3.18+1.23 Up for uP≥3.12km/s.

we have studied the optical and magnetic properties of ytterbium implanted GaN epilayer grown on (0001) sapphire by metalorganic chemical vapor by deposition (MOCVD). Samples were implanted at room temperature with Yb ions at dose 4 1015 cm-2 and energy of 150 keV. The implanted samples were annealed at 1000 C in N2 at atmospheric pressure to recover implantation damages. The photoluminescence (PL), PL excitation (PLE), and PL kinetics have been studied with continuous and pulse photo-excitations in 360-1100 nm spectral range at different temperatures. The characteristic Yb3+ ion emission spectra were observed in the spectral range between 970-1050 nm. Theoretical fittings of the experimental PL temperature and PL kinetics data suggest that Yb3+ ions are involved in at least two major luminescence centers. The PLE spectra indicate that excitation of the Yb3+ ion occurs via electron-hole pair generation and complex processes. Magnetization versus magnetic field curves shows an enhancement of magnetic order for Yb-implanted samples in 5 K to 300 K temperature range. The Yb-implanted GaN sample showing weak ferromagnetic behavior was compared with the ferromagnetic in situ doped GaYbN material.

The internal structure of the proton is chaotic according to the Standard Model. This paper explores several possibilities, based on us9-1, for producing an internal structure of the proton which is orderly. The hypothesis that quantized distance determination via particle to particle communication is required for force application eliminates E & M in the proton interior enabling a structure consisting of gravitational orbits. Communication velocities much greater than the velocity of light are required to enable the fundamental particles to generate the accepted laws of physics. In order to generate increasing complexity in Nature, the Uncertainty Principle must become the Organizational Principle. The Hydrogen atom is the source of evolution.

The fundamental constants of Physics can be related via a numerical equivalence. This equivalence leads to a unitless transformation which reduces the number of fundamental constants and provides a simple relationship between E&M, gravitation and quantum mechanics. Unitless relationships in this paper are considered a representation associated with information processing internal to fundamental particles. The application of the unitless transformation (us9) to fundamental particle masses and lifetimes clearly demonstrates the applicability of this method to high energy physics.

The use of sanctions to coerce Pyongyang into abandoning its nuclear weapons and related programs is not working. North Korea continues to survive and expands its nuclear and missile capabilities. It is time for the us to construct a more successful North Korea strategy by applying a smart power strategy before the North Koreans can operationalize their nuclear ICBMs within the next several years. If and when that occurs, the us will inevitably consider the use of force to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue, but that will be too costly for the us and its allies. washington must do all it can to avoid another war on the Asian mainland. The only practical uses of force are as defensive and enhanced deterrence measures to protect the us and its allies against North Korean nuclear and conventional provocations. Instead, the us should call for an immediate freeze of North Korea＇s nuclear and missile programs and demonstrate its willingness to co-exist with Pyongyang, Only by accepting co-existence with Pyongyang, washington has an opportunity to persuade Beijing and Moscow to join its efforts with Seoul and Tokyo to denuclearize North Korea. It is time to engage North Korea by accepting it as it is and exercising strategic patience of a different kind to achieve us aims.

Brucella spp. are zoonotic, facultative intracellular pathogens, which cause animal and human disease. Animal disease results in abortion of fetuses; in humans, it manifests flu-like symptoms with an undulant fever, with osteoarthritis as a common complication of infection. Antibiotic regimens for human brucellosis patients may last several months and are not always completely effective. while there are no vaccines for humans, several licensed live Brucella vaccines are available for use in livestock. The performance of these animal vaccines is dependent upon the host species, dose, and route of immunization. Newly engineered live vaccines, lacking well-defined virulence factors, retain low residual virulence, are highly protective, and may someday replace currently used animal vaccines. These also have possible human applications. Moreover, due to their enhanced safety and efficacy in animal models, subunit vaccines for brucellosis show great promise for their application in livestock and humans. This review summarizes the progress of brucellosis vaccine development and presents an overview of candidate vaccines.

On the Origin of Mass and Angular Momentum of Stellar Objects

The consequence of the 5D projection theory [1] is extended beyond the Gell-Mann Standard Model for hadrons to cover astronomical objects and galaxies. The proof of Poincare conjecture by Pe-relman’s differential geometrical techniques led us to the consequence that charged massless spinors reside in a 5D void of a galactic core, represented by either an open 5D core or a closed, time frozen, 3D × 1D space structure, embedded in massive structural stellar objects such as stars and planets. The open galactic core is obtained from Ricci Flow mapping. There exist in phase, in plane rotating massless spinors within these void cores, and are responsible for 1) the outward spiral motion of stars in the galaxy in the open core, and 2) self rotations of the massive stellar objects. It is noted that another set of eigen states pertaining to the massless charged spinor pairs rotating out of phase in 1D (out of the 5D manifold) also exist and will generate a relatively weak magnetic field out of the void core. For stars and planets, it forms the intrinsic dipole field. Due to the existence of a homogeneous 5D manifold from which we believe the universe evolves, the angular momentum arising from the rotation of the in-phase spinor pairs is proposed to be counter-balanced by the rotation of the matter in the surrounding Lorentz domain, so as to conserve net zero angular momentum. Explicit expression for this total angular momentum in terms of a number of convergent series is derived for the totally enclosed void case/core, forming in general the structure of a star or a planet. It is shown that the variables/parameters in the Lorentz space-time domain for these stellar objects involve the object’s mass M, the object’s Radius R, period of rotation P, and the 5D void radius Ro, together with the Fermi energy Ef and temperature T of the massless charged spinors residing in the void. we discovered three laws governing the relationships between Ro/R, T, Ef and the angular momentum Iω
