The fluorescence of terbium （Ⅲ） was enhanced by about three orders of magnitude in the presence of trimellitic acid （benzene-1, 2, 4-tricarboxylic acid （TLA）） in aqueous solution at pH 6. The fluorescence intensity could be greatly increased when the system of Tb^3＋-TLA was treated with La^3＋（or Gd^3＋） and TritonX- 100. The addition of La^3＋（or Gd^3＋） enhanees the fluorescence of the system by about two orders of magnitude due to cofluorescenee, and the TritonX-100 micellar medium plays an important role for stabilization of the system. Both the intermolecular energy transfer mode and intramolecular energy transfer mode are responsible for the mechanism of fluorescence enhancement. In the optimum condi- tions, the fluorescence intensity is a linear function of Tb3~ concentration in the range of 7.8 × 10^-9-3.6 × 10^4 mol/L for the system Tb^3＋-La^3＋-TLA and 1.0 × 10^-8-4.7 × 10^-5 mol/L for the system Tb^3＋-Gd^3＋-TLA, and the limits of detection are 4.6 × 10^-10 mol/L and 6.0 × 10^-10 mol/L, respectively.

Enantiomer separation is one of the most important prerequisites for the investigation of environmental enantioselective behavior for chiral *** enantiomeric separation of three chiral pesticides,indoxacarb,lambda-cyhalothrin,and simeconazole,were studied on cellulose tris-(3,5-dimethylphenyl-carbamate)-coated chiral stationary phase(CDMPC-CSP) using high-performance liquid chromatography under normal phase *** effects of chromatographic conditions,such as the mobile phase composition including the concentration and type of alcohol modifiers in hexane,flow rate and column temperature,on enantiomer separation were *** thermodynamical mechanism of enantioseparation and chiral recognition mechanism were *** separation were achieved using 20% n-propanol for indoxacarb,2% iso-butanol for lambda-cyhalothrin,and 20% iso-propanol for simeconazole as modifiers in hexane at 25℃ with the selectivity factor(a) of 1.69,1.82 and 1.70,*** resolution factor(Rs) decreased as the flow rate increased from 0.4 to 1.1 ml·*** retention factor(k') and selectivity factor for the enantiomers of analytes decreased as temperature *** lna-1/T plots for racemic chiral pesticides were linear in the range of 15-35℃ in hexane/iso-propanol and the chiral separation was controlled by *** bonding,π-π and dipole-dipole interactions between enantiomers and CDMPC-CSP play an important role in chiral identification,and the fitting of the asymmetric portion of solutes in a chiral cavity or channel of the CSP is also important.

MgTixNi （x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2） alloys were successfully prepared by mechanical alloying （MA）, and the influence of milling time on the electrochemical characteristics of the electrodes was discussed. MgTixNi alloys after 90 h milling displayed the best electrochemical performance The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the alloy ball-milled for 90 h was amorphous with a widened diffraction peak. The charge-discharge tests indicated that these alloys had good electrochemical activation properties, and the MgTi0.2Ni alloy electrode exhibited the best cycle performance. The initial discharge capacity of the MgTi0.2Ni alloy reached up to 401.1 mAh·g^-1, and the retention rate of capacity was 31.0% after 30 cycles, much higher than that of MgNi （17.3%）. The Tafel polarization curves revealed that Ti addition could enhance the anticorrosion performance of these alloys in alkali solution, which was responsible for the ameliorated cyclic stability of these alloy electrodes.

MgNi-based hydrogen storage alloys Mg1–xTixNi （x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3） were prepared by means of mechanical alloying. Mg in the alloy was partially substituted by Ti to improve the cycle stability of the alloys. The effects of the substitution of Ti for Mg on the microstructure and electrochemical performances of the alloys were investigated in detail. The results indicate that the substitution of Ti for Mg obviously decreases the discharge capacity, but it significantly improves their cycle stabilities. The microstructure of the alloys analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） shows that the alloys have a dominatingly amorphous structure. The substitution of Ti for Mg helps to improve the anti-oxidation/corrosion ability of the MgNi alloy but demolishes the electrochemical kinetics of hydrogenation/dehydrogenation. The Mg0.9Ti0.1Ni alloy electrode milled for 80 h exhibits the best integrative capability, which has the maximal discharge capacity of 331.66 mAh/g and the C30/Cmax of 63.65%.

A An analytical method using high resolution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry （HR-ICP-MS） for rapid simultaneous determination of 24 elements （Be, Mg, A1, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Se, Mo, Ag, Cd, Sn Sb, Ba, Pt, Au, and Pb） in high purity cobalt was described. Sample digestions were performed in closed microwave vessels using HNO3 and HCI. The matrix effects because of the presence of excess HCI and Co were evaluated. The usefulness of high mass resolution for overcoming some spectral interference was demonstrated. The optimum conditions for the determination were tested and discussed. The standard addition method was employed for quantitative analysis. The detection limits were 0.016-1.50 ].tg·g^-1, the recovery ratios were 92.2%-111.2%, and the RSD was less than 3.6%. The method was accurate, quick, and convenient. It was applied to the determination of trace impurities in high purity cobalt with satisfactory results.

Preparation and electrochemical performance of spherical Fe_3O_4 as anode materials for Li-ion batteries

Fe3O4 nano-powder was prepared by the hydrothermal method. The structure and morphology of the product were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The as-prepared powder has regularly spherical morphology, and the average size of product is about 25 nm. The possible application use of this material as the active mass of anode for rechargeable Li batteries was examined by cyclic voltammeter (CV), galvanostatic charge/*** experimental results showed that this material exhibited large specific capacity at the first cycle, and the discharge and charge capacity retention of this electrode are 37.04% and 48.76%, respectively. Furthermore, the impedance change of Fe3O4 electrode under different cycle number and potential was examined.

Antimony mercaplde heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chlorideis synthesized from antimony trioxide and mercaptocarboxylic acid esters, HS(CH2).COoi-C8H17 (n=1～2) at 100～115 C In the presence of 0. 5%～1 % an organic acid catalyst. Some physicochemicalconstants of the compounds, such as density and refractive index, aredetermined. The complexes are hydrolabll in aqueous solutions andthe bond of Sb-S is weaker than that of Sb-o. The forming bondproperty of antimony tris (mercaptoacid ester ) has been elucidatedby measurement of infrared spectra in comparison with mercaptocarboxylic acid esters. The polyvinyl chloride resins containing antimony mercaptide heat stabilizers, do not darken at elevated temperatures and exhibit a high degree of stability. It is proposed that mercaptocarboxylic acid ester freeradicals can esterify PVC microradicals at carbon atoms with upaired electrons.

In order to clarify the mechanism and the complex formed in the extraction of divalent Mn by alkylphosphonic acid monoester, the solid complex has been prepared by mono (2-ethylhexyl)-2-ethylhexyl phosphate, HEH(EH)P, HA with divalent Mn. The elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility and thermogravimetry have been determined for the solid complex of HEH(EH)P-Mn(II) and the infrared spectrum has been carried out in comparison to the extractant HEH(EH)P. The extracted compound has also been studied by electronic and electron spin resonance spectroscopy in octane solvent and solid state at room temperature. On the basis of the measurements, it is concluded that the structure of the solid polymeric species MnA_2 is in a tetrahedral arrangement.
