Capturing the non-equilibrium state in light–matter–free-electron interactions through ultrafast transmission electron microscopy

Ultrafast transmission electron microscope(UTEM) with the multimodality of time-resolved diffraction, imaging,and spectroscopy provides a unique platform to reveal the fundamental features associated with the interaction between free electrons and matter. In this review, we summarize the principles, instrumentation, and recent developments of the UTEM and its applications in capturing dynamic processes and non-equilibrium transient states. The combination of the transmission electron microscope with a femtosecond laser via the pump–probe method guarantees the high spatiotemporal resolution, allowing the investigation of the transient process in real, reciprocal and energy spaces. Ultrafast structural dynamics can be studied by diffraction and imaging methods, revealing the coherent acoustic phonon generation and photoinduced phase transition process. In the energy dimension, time-resolved electron energy-loss spectroscopy enables the examination of the intrinsic electronic dynamics of materials, while the photon-induced near-field electron microscopy extends the application of the UTEM to the imaging of optical near fields with high real-space resolution. It is noted that light–free-electron interactions have the ability to shape electron wave packets in both longitudinal and transverse directions, showing the potential application in the generation of attosecond electron pulses and vortex electron beams.

Recent advances in the ultrafast transmission electron microscope （UTEM）, with combined spatial and temporal resolutions, have made it possible to directly visualize the atomic, electronic, and magnetic structural dynamics of materials. In this review, we highlight the recent progress of UTEM techniques and their applications to a variety of material systems. It is emphasized that numerous significant ultrafast dynamic issues in material science can be solved by the integration of the pump-probe approach with the well-developed conventional transmission electron microscopy （TEM） techniques. For instance, UTEM diffraction experiments can be performed to investigate photoinduced atomic-scale dynamics, including the chemical reactions, non-equilibrium phase transition/melting, and lattice phonon coupling. UTEM imaging methods are invaluable for studying, in real space, the elementary processes of structural and morphological changes, as well as magnetic-domain evolution in the Lorentz TEM mode, at a high magnification. UTEM electron energy-loss spectroscopic techniques allow the examination of the ultrafast valence states and electronic structure dynamics, while photoinduced near-field electron microscopy extends the capability of the UTEM to the regime of electromagnetic-field imaging with a high real space resolution.

Superconductivity in an intermetallic oxide Hf_(3)Pt_(4)Ge_(2)O

Discovery of a new superconductor with distinct crystal structure and chemistry often provides great opportunity for further expanding superconductor material base,and also leads to better understanding of superconductivity ***,we report the discovery of superconductivity in a new intermetallic oxide Hf_(3)Pt_Ge_(2)O synthesized through a solid-state *** Hf_(3)Pt_Ge_(2)O crystallizes in a cubic structure(space group Fm-3 m)with a lattice constant of a=1.241 nm,whose stoichiometry and atomic structure are determined by electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction *** superconductivity at 4.1 K and type-II superconducting nature are evidenced by the electrical resistivity,magnetic susceptibility,and specific heat *** intermetallic oxide Hf_(3)Pt_Ge_(2)O system demonstrates an intriguing structural feature that foreign oxygen atoms can be accommodated in the interstitial sites of the ternary intermetallic *** also successfully synthesized a series of Hf_(3)Pt_Ge_(2)O1+δ(-0.25≤δ≤0.5),and found theδ-dependent superconducting transition temperature *** atomic structure and the electronic structure are also substantiated by first-principles *** results present an entirely new family of superconductors with distinct structural and chemical characteristics,and could attract research interest in further finding new superconductors and exploring novel physics pertaining to the 5 d-electron in these intermetallic compound systems.

Investigation of dimensionality in superconducting NbN thin film samples with different thicknesses and NbTiN meander nanowire samples by measuring the upper critical field

We study superconducting properties of NbN thin film samples with different thicknesses and an ultra-thin NbTiN meander nanowire *** the ultra-thin samples,we found that the temperature dependence of upper critical field(Hc2)in parallel to surface orientation shows bending curvature close to critical temperature Tc,suggesting a two-dimensional(2D)nature of the *** 2D behavior is further supported by the angular dependence measurements of Hc2 for the thinnest *** temperature dependence of parallel upper critical field for the thick films could be described by a model based on the anisotropic Ginzburg-Landau ***,the results measured in the field perpendicular to the film surface orientation show a similar bending curvature but in a much narrow temperature region close to Tc for the ultra-thin *** suggest that this feature could be due to suppression of pair-breaking caused by local *** further propose the temperature dependence of perpendicular Hc2 as a measure of uniformity of superconducting ultra-thin *** the thick samples,we find that Hc2 shows maxima for both parallel and perpendicular *** Hc2 peak for the perpendicular orientation is believed to be due to the columnar structure formed during the growth of the thick *** presence of columnar structure is confirmed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).In addition,we have measured the angular dependence of magneto-resistance,and the results are consistent with the Hc2 data.

A Blockchain-Based Access Control Scheme for Reputation Value Attributes of the Internet of Things

The Internet of Things(IoT)access controlmechanism may encounter security issues such as single point of failure and data *** address these issues,a blockchain-based IoT reputation value attribute access control scheme is ***,writing the reputation value as an attribute into the access control policy,and then deploying the access control policy in the smart contract of the blockchain system can enable the system to provide more fine-grained access control;Secondly,storing a large amount of resources fromthe Internet of Things in Inter Planetary File System(IPFS)to improve system throughput;Finally,map resource access operations to qualification tokens to improve the performance of the access control *** simulation experiments based on the Hyperledger Fabric *** simulation experimental results,it can be seen that the access control system can achieve more fine-grained and dynamic access control while maintaining high throughput and low time delay,providing sufficient reliability and security for access control of IoT devices.

Transformer and GAN-Based Super-Resolution Reconstruction Network for Medical Images

Super-resolution reconstruction in medical imaging has become more demanding due to the necessity of obtaining high-quality images with minimal radiation dose,such as in low-field magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).However,image super-resolution reconstruction remains a difficult task because of the complexity and high textual requirements for diagnosis *** this paper,we offer a deep learning based strategy for reconstructing medical images from low resolutions utilizing Transformer and generative adversarial networks(T-GANs).The integrated system can extract more precise texture information and focus more on important locations through global image matching after successfully inserting Transformer into the generative adversarial network for picture ***,we weighted the combination of content loss,adversarial loss,and adversarial feature loss as the final multi-task loss function during the training of our proposed model *** comparison to established measures like peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and structural similarity index measure(SSIM),our suggested T-GAN achieves optimal performance and recovers more texture features in super-resolution reconstruction of MRI scanned images of the knees and belly.

Robust adaptive radar beamforming based on iterative training sample selection using kurtosis of generalized inner product statistics

In engineering application,there is only one adaptive weights estimated by most of traditional early warning radars for adaptive interference suppression in a pulse reputation interval(PRI).Therefore,if the training samples used to calculate the weight vector does not contain the jamming,then the jamming cannot be removed by adaptive spatial *** the weight vector is constantly updated in the range dimension,the training data may contain target echo signals,resulting in signal cancellation *** cope with the situation that the training samples are contaminated by target signal,an iterative training sample selection method based on non-homogeneous detector(NHD)is proposed in this paper for updating the weight vector in entire range *** principle is presented,and the validity is proven by simulation results.

SMAD4 deficiency in colorectal cancer(CRC)is highly correlated with liver metastasis and high mortality,yet there are few effective precision therapies ***,we show that CCR1^(+)-granulocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells(G-MDSCs)are highly infiltrated in SMAD4-deficient CRC via CCL15/CCR1 and CCL9/CCR1 axis in clinical specimens and mouse models,*** excessive TGF-β,secreted by tumor-infiltrated CCR1^(+)-G-MDSCs,suppresses the immune response of cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs),thus facilitating ***,we develop engineered nanovesicles displaying CCR1 and TGFBR2 molecules(C/T-NVs)to chemotactically target the tumor driven by CCL9/CCR1 axis and trap TGF-βthrough TGF-β-TGFBR2 specific *** C/T-NVs counteract CCR1^(+)-G-MDSC infiltration through competitive responding CCL9/CCR1 axis.C/T-NVs-induced intratumoral TGF-βexhaustion alleviates the TGF-β-suppressed immune response of ***,C/T-NVs attenuate liver metastasis of SMAD4-deficient *** further exploration,high expression of programmed cell death ligand-1(PD-L1)is observed in clinical specimens of SMAD4-deficient *** C/T-NVs with anti-PD-L1 antibody(aPD-L1)induces tertiary lymphoid structure formation with sustained activation of CTLs,CXCL13^(+)-CD4^(+)T,CXCR5^(+)-CD20^(+)B cells,and enhanced secretion of cytotoxic cytokine interleukin-21 and IFN-γaround tumors,thus eradicating metastatic *** strategy elicits pleiotropic antimetastatic immunity,paving the way for nanovesicle-mediated precision immunotherapy in SMAD4-deficient CRC.

DeepSI:A Sensitive-Driven Testing Samples Generation Method of Whitebox CNN Model for Edge Computing

Frequency Domain Fatigue Evaluation on SCR Girth-Weld Based on Structural Stress

The Steel Catenary Riser(SCR)is a vital component for transporting oil and gas from the seabed to the floating *** harsh environmental conditions and complex platform motion make the SCR’s girth-weld prone to fatigue *** structural stress fatigue theory and Master S-N curve method provide accurate predictions for the fatigue damage on the welded joints,which demonstrate significant potential and compatibility in multi-axial and random fatigue ***,we propose a new frequency fatigue model subjected to welded joints of SCR under multiaxial stress,which fully integrates the mesh-insensitive structural stress and frequency domain random process and transforms the conventional welding fatigue technique of SCR into a spectrum analysis technique utilizing structural ***,a full-scale FE model of SCR with welds is established to obtain the modal structural stress of the girth weld and the frequency response function(FRF)of modal coordinate,and a biaxial fatigue evaluation about the girth weld of the SCR can be achieved by taking the effects of multi-load correlation and pipe-soil interaction into *** research results indicate that the frequency-domain fatigue results are aligned with the time-domain results,meeting the fatigue evaluation requirements of the SCR.
