Gut microbial characteristics of the damp-heat constitution:a population-based multicenter cross-sectional study

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the difference in gut microbiota between population with damp-heat constitution(DHC) and balanced constitution(BC). METHODS: A multi-centered cross-sectional casecontrol study was conducted, which included 249 participants with damp-heat constitution or balanced constitution. Baseline information of participants was collected, and stool samples were collected for gut microbiota analysis. Principal coordinate analysis, linear discriminant analysis effect size analysis, receiver operating characteristic, random forest model, and phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states methods were used to reveal the relationship between gut microbiota and the damp-heat constitution. RESULTS: Compared to those in the BC group, the richness and diversity of the microbiota, specifically those of several short-chain fatty acid producing genera such as Barnesiella, Coprobacter, and Butyricimonas, were significantly decreased in the DHC group. Regarding biological functions, flavonoid biosynthesis, propanoate metabolism, and nucleotide sugar metabolism were suppressed, while arachidonic acid metabolism and glutathione metabolism were enriched in the DHC group. Finally, a classifier based on the microbiota was constructed to discriminate between the DHC and BC populations. CONCLUSION: The gut microbiota of the DHC population exhibits significantly reduced diversity and is closely related to inflammation, metabolic disorders, and liver steatosis, which is consistent with clinical observations, thus serving as a potential diagnostic tool for traditional Chinese medicine constitution discrimination.

The Tungsten-Rhenium(W-Re) alloys,celebrated for their high melting point,strength at elevated temperatures,electrical resistivity,and radiation resistance,have been widely utilized in high-temperature components,aerospace,electronics,and nuclear *** constituents of the topologically close-packed(TCP) phases,the sigma phase(σ) and chi phase(χ) formed within W-Re alloys wield considerable influence on the mechanical properties and the stability of the *** calculations were utilized in the present work to explore the structural,thermodynamic,and electronic properties of both ordered and disordered configurations within the σ and χ phases,culminating in a systematic elucidation of the higher phase stability exhibited by the ordered *** is found that the bulk modulus of these two phases is directly proportional to the concentration of Re in the alloy,while the equilibrium volume is inversely *** thermodynamic parameters of the σ and χ phases are calculated via the mean-field potential *** similar trends observed in the isobaric heat capacity,enthalpy increment,and entropy change curves for these two phases suggest they possess comparable thermodynamic *** is noteworthy that the contribution of ionic vibrations predominantly affects the isobaric heat capacity,while the contribution of thermal electronic excitations increases linearly with *** the structure and thermodynamic properties of TCP phases in W-Re alloys at low temperatures has profound significance for optimizing material performance,microstructures features,establishing theoretical foundations,and predicting material behavior.

AIM:To investigate the potential mechanisms of A-V pattern and evaluate the surgical outcomes used in the treatment of sensory ***:The medical records of patients with sensory A-V pattern exotropia who underwent strabismus surgery between May 2014 to June 2019 was retrospectively *** control group included sensory exotropia patients without A-V pattern and concomitant A-V pattern exotropia patients with normal vision who undergone strabismus surgery over this same time *** alignment,best corrected visual acuity,oblique muscle function,and stereopsis records were ***:Among the 843 eligible patients,91(10.79%;39 males and 52 females)had A-pattern(54,6.4%)or V-pattern(37,4.4%).Age at onset of vision impairment was 4±5y and at the time of surgery was 25±*** significant negative correlations were present between impaired visual acuity and the pre-operative exodeviation(r=-0.198,P=0.016)and patterns(r=-0.207,P=0.015).Age at surgery and exodeviation in patients with concomitant A-V pattern exotropia was significantly earlier as compared with that of sensory A-V pattern exotropia and sensory exotropia(both P<0.0001).There were no significant differences in these clinical variables between sensory exotropia with or without A-V *** and pattern were significantly reduced in patients receiving horizontal rectus surgery with or without oblique muscle surgery(both P<0.0001).CONCLUSION:The prevalence of sensory A-V pattern exotropia in our study is 10.79%.Visual acuity represents an important factor contributing to the occurrence and development of A-V *** horizontal rectus surgery can provide a good option for the correction of sensory A-V pattern exotropia.

Thermodynamic modeling is still themostwidely usedmethod to characterize aerosol acidity,a critical physicochemical property of atmospheric ***,it remains unclear whether gas-aerosol partitioning should be incorporated when thermodynamicmodels are employed to estimate the acidity of coarse *** this work,field measurements were conducted at a coastal city in northern China across three seasons,and covered wide ranges of temperature,relative humidity and NH_(3) *** examined the performance of different modes of ISORROPIA-II(a widely used aerosol thermodynamic model)in estimating aerosol acidity of coarse and fine *** M0 mode,which incorporates gas-phase data and runs the model in the forward mode,provided reasonable estimation of aerosol acidity for coarse and fine *** to M0,the M1 mode,which runs the model in the forward mode but does not include gas-phase data,may capture the general trend of aerosol acidity but underestimates pH for both coarse and fine particles;M2,which runs the model in the reverse mode,results in large errors in estimated aerosol pH for both coarse and fine particles and should not be used for aerosol acidity ***,M1 significantly underestimates liquid water contents for both fine and coarse particles,while M2 provides reliable estimation of liquid water *** summary,our work highlights the importance of incorporating gas-aerosol partitioning when estimating coarse particle acidity,and thus may help improve our understanding of acidity of coarse particles.

OBJECTIVE: To screen the target population with symptomatic bradyarrhythmia for pharmacotherapy. METHODS: This study use database from clinical trial that use Yuanjiang decoction(元姜方), a traditional Chinese medicinal prescription. Eligible participants were recruited and treated with Yuanjiang decoction(composed of 6 Chinese herbal medicines), 200 m L twice daily. Cross-contingency analysis, logistic regression analysis, interaction analysis, discriminant analysis and 10-fold cross validation methods were used to establish discriminant model. RESULTS: This study concluded that the clinical treatment of bradyarrhythmia has a clear effect. Low minimum heart rate, high maximum heart rate are risk factors that affect the efficacy. Patients with only one comorbid disease did not significantly affect the efficacy, but patient with two or more diseases of coronary heart disease, hypertension, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, premature ventricular contraction and premature atrial contraction at the same time did not have a good effect. Using the discriminant analysis method to establish a efficacy prediction model, y = 0.07X1 + 0.16X2-0.65X3-1.12X4-0.71X5-0.75X6-0.91X7(X1 = 24 h mean heart rate, X2 = minimum heart rate, X3 = coronary heart disease, X4 = paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, X5 = premature ventricular contraction, X6= sinus block, X7 = atrioventricular block). CONCLUSION: Our model based on the clinical features of patients with bradyarrhythmia. Should be useful aid for predicting pharmacotherapy response and could screen the optimal pharmacotherapy target.

溃疡性结肠炎(ulcerative colitis,UC)是一种慢性炎症性肠道疾病,其病因和发病机制尚未完全明确.随着社会的发展和压力的增加,UC患者数量持续增加,尤其是在亚洲,且与健康个体相比,UC患者患结直肠癌的风险大大增加.虽然目前其具体发病机制尚不清楚,但研究表明与免疫系统、环境、肠道微生态平衡、遗传等多种因素密切相关.UC患者体内与UC模型会发生铁死亡损伤,且在运用铁死亡抑制剂后可有效缓解症状.铁死亡是一种新形式的调节性细胞死亡,是由铁过度积累和脂质过氧化引起的,其特征是铁沉积、脂质过氧化异常和氨基酸代谢异常.本文就铁死亡的三大特征探讨基于铁死亡防治UC的机制及治疗策略作一综述.

Black-phosphorus-structured nitrogen(BP-N)is an attractive high-energy-density ***,high-pressure-synthesized BP-N will decompose at low pressure and cannot be quenched to ambient *** a method to stabilize it at 0 GPa is of great significance for its practical ***,unlike cubic gauche,layered polymeric,and hexagonal layered polymeric nitrogen(cg-N,LP-N,and HLP-N),it is always a metastable phase at high pressures up to 260 GPa,and decomposes into chains at 23 ***,on the basis of firstprinciples simulations,we find that P-atom doping can effectively reduce the synthesis pressure of BP-N and maintain its stability at 0 *** distribution of P-atom dopants within BP-N layers helps maintain the structural stability of these layers at 0 GPa,while interlayer electrostatic interaction induced by N-P dipoles enhances dynamic stability by eliminating interlayer ***,pressure is conducive to enhancing the stability of BP-N and its doped forms by suppressing N-chain *** a configuration with 12.5%doping concentration,a gravimetric energy density of 8.07 kJ/g can be realized,which is nearly twice that of trinitrotoluene.

Poplar plantations are often established on nitrogen-poor land, and poplar growth and wood formation are constrained by low nitrogen(LN)availability. However, the molecular mechanisms by which specific genes regulate wood formation in acclimation to LN availability remain unclear. Here,we report a previously unrecognized module, basic region/leucine zipper 55(PtobZIP55)–PtoMYB170,which regulates the wood formation of Populus tomentosa in acclimation to LN ***55 was highly expressed in poplar wood and induced by LN. Altered wood anatomical properties and increased lignification were detected in PtobZIP55-overexpressing poplars,whereas the opposite results were detected in PtobZIP55-knockout poplars. Molecular and transgenic analyses revealed that PtobZIP55 directly binds to the promoter sequence of PtoMYB170to activate its transcription. The phenotypes of PtoMYB170 transgenic poplars were similar to those of PtobZIP55 transgenic poplars under LN conditions. Further molecular analyses revealed that PtoMYB170 directly bound the promoter sequences of lignin biosynthetic genes to activate their transcription to increase lignin concentrations in LN-treated poplar wood. These results suggest that PtobZIP55 activates PtoMYB170 transcription,which in turn positively regulates lignin biosynthetic genes, increasing lignin deposition in the wood of P. tomentosa in the context of acclimation to LN availability.
