Two community types occur in gut microbiota of large-sample wild plateau pikas(Ochotona curzoniae)

Studies on large-sample gut microbial sequencing data indicate that gut microbiota can be divided into multiple community types;different community types may influence the community function and ecosystem service.However,the knowledge on the classification,diversity,interaction,and assembling of microbial community types in the gut of wild animals is still insufficient.Here,we used pika gut microbiota data as an example to study the microbial community types in large-sample sequencing dataset.Cecal microbial communities from 118 wild plateau pika(Ochotona curzoniae)individuals at 5 elevational regions on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau were analyzed.Our results show that pika gut microbiota can be separated into 2 community types(Cluster I and Cluster II).Cluster I was mainly distributed on the high-elevation regions with more than 3694 m and was most dominated by Firmicutes.Cluster II was from the low-elevation areas(lower than 3580 m),and was predominated by Bacteroidetes.Cluster I had a higher community alpha-diversity and predicted functional diversity than Cluster II,and the betadiversity and predicted functional profiles of these 2 clusters were significantly different.Network analysis revealed that there were more complex interactions between Cluster I,which had enhanced influence on the co-occurrences of other microbes in the bacterial community when compared to Cluster II.Phylogenetic analysis found that the environmental filtering in the Cluster I was stronger than Cluster II.The assemblages of pika gut bacterial communities were determined mainly by deterministic processes,while the relative importance of deterministic processes accounted for more percentages in the Cluster I than Cluster II.Our results demonstrated that 2 gut microbial community types in pikas had distinct diversity patterns and ecological functions.Current methods are also helpful for identifying gut community types and the related mechanisms behind gut microbiota types in large-sample sequencing data of wild animals.

Optimization-inspired manual architecture design and neural architecture search

Neural architecture has been a research focus in recent years due to its importance in deciding the performance of deep networks. Representative ones include a residual network(Res Net) with skip connections and a dense network(Dense Net) with dense connections. However, a theoretical guidance for manual architecture design and neural architecture search(NAS) is still lacking. In this paper, we propose a manual architecture design framework, which is inspired by optimization algorithms. It is based on the conjecture that an optimization algorithm with a good convergence rate may imply a neural architecture with good performance. Concretely, we prove under certain conditions that forward propagation in a deep neural network is equivalent to the iterative optimization procedure of the gradient descent algorithm minimizing a cost function. Inspired by this correspondence, we derive neural architectures from fast optimization algorithms,including the heavy ball algorithm and Nesterov’s accelerated gradient descent algorithm. Surprisingly, we find that we can deem the Res Net and Dense Net as special cases of the optimization-inspired architectures.These architectures offer not only theoretical guidance, but also good performances in image recognition on multiple datasets, including CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, and Image Net. Moreover, we show that our method is also useful for NAS by offering a good initial search point or guiding the search space.

Synthesis and insecticidal evaluation of novel sulfide-containing amide derivatives as potential ryanodine receptor modulators

With the aim of discovering new bioactive pesticides for crop protection,a series of novel sulfidecontaining amide derivatives A were efficiently synthesized via a strategy of modifying the“amide”structure of anthranilic diamide insecticides.The single-crystal structures of A2-3 and A4-5 were firstly reported.The bioassay results showed that most of the synthesized compounds display moderate to high insecticidal activities.Particularly,some sulfone-containing compounds,e.g.,A2-3,A3-3 and A6-3,not only possessed favorable lethality rate(50%–100%)against P.xylostella at a concentration of 0.1 mg/L,but also held good activities towards a variety of agricultural pests such as M.separata,C.pipiens pallen,H.armigera and O.nubilalis;the larvicidal activities of A4-1 and A6-1 towards P.xylostella were close to that of chlorantraniliprole at 0.01 mg/L.The calcium imaging experiments revealed that the representative compounds A2-3 and A6-3 are potential ryanodine receptor(RyR)modulators.The structure–activity relationships were discussed in detail.These results provide useful information for further design and development of novel insecticides.

Application of LSTM model optimized by individual-ordering- basedadaptivegeneticalgorithmin stock forecasting

Purpose-To improve the accuracy of stock price trend prediction in the field of quantitative financial trading,this paper takes the prediction accuracy as the goal and avoid the enormous number of network structures and hyperparameter adjustments of long-short-term memory(LSTM).Design/methodology/approach-In this paper,an adaptive genetic algorithm based on individual ordering is used to optimize the network structure and hyperparameters of the LSTM neural network automatically.Findings-The simulation results show that the accuracy of the rise and fall of the stock outperform than the model with LSTM only as well as other machine learning models.Furthermore,the efficiency of parameter adjustment is greatly higher than other hyperparameter optimization methods.Originality/value-(1)The AGA-LSTM algorithm is used to input various hyperparameter combinations into genetic algorithm to find the best hyperparameter combination.Compared with other models,it has higher accuracy in predicting the up and down trend of stock prices in the next day.(2)Adopting real coding,elitist preservation and self-adaptive adjustment of crossover and mutation probability based on individual ordering in the part of genetic algorithm,the algorithm is computationally efficient and the results are more likely to converge to the global optimum.

A review of intelligent optimization for group scheduling problems in cellular manufacturing

Given that group technology can reduce the changeover time of equipment,broaden the productivity,and enhance the flexibility of manufacturing,especially cellular manufacturing,group scheduling problems(GSPs)have elicited considerable attention in the academic and industry practical literature.There are two issues to be solved in GSPs:One is how to allocate groups into the production cells in view of major setup times between groups and the other is how to schedule jobs in each group.Although a number of studies on GSPs have been published,few integrated reviews have been conducted so far on considered problems with different constraints and their optimization methods.To this end,this study hopes to shorten the gap by reviewing the development of research and analyzing these problems.All literature is classified according to the number of objective functions,number of machines,and optimization algorithms.The classical mathematical models of single-machine,permutation,and distributed flowshop GSPs based on adjacent and position-based modeling methods,respectively,are also formulated.Last but not least,outlooks are given for outspread problems and problem algorithms for future research in the fields of group scheduling.

Genesis and magma fertility of gold associated high-K granites:LA-ICP-MS zircon trace element and REEs constraint from Bakoshi–Gadanya granites in NW Nigeria

High-K granites dominate the rock units in the Bakoshi and Gadanya areas located in the northwestern Nigerian subshield,part of the Trans-Saharan Belt,West Africa.In this contribution,the LA-ICP-MS zircon trace element revealed the fertility of magma responsible for the high-K granites that hosts the Bakoshi–Gadanya gold mineralization.Two likely metallogenic granites types are 1)Gadanya alkali granite,with high Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)(mean 1485)and limited range of Eu anomalies may likely be associated with the gold mineralization,and 2)Bakoshi porphyritic granite,Jaulere biotite granite,Shanono coarsegrained granite,and Yettiti granite,all have low Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+) ratios(mean\100,except second Bakoshi granite D2-1)with wider ranges of Eu/Eu^(*) values,thus are considered reduced granites.These reduced granites have oxygen fugacity values and Eu anomalies comparable to reduced granites associated with tin belts in Myanmar and Zaaiplaats granites in Bushveld Complex,South Africa.Ti-inZircon thermometric study revealed two thermal regimes during the crystallization of the Bakoshi–Gadanya granites:the high temperature(746–724℃):Shanono coarsegrained granite,Bakoshi granite D2-1,and Jaulere biotite granite;and relatively low temperature(705–653℃):Bakoshi porphyritic granite D1-1,Yettiti medium-grained granite,and Gadanya alkali granite.Zircon trace elements including U,Yb,Y,Nb,and Sc ratios constraint the magma source of Bakoshi–Gadanya granites to an enriched mantle metasomatized during the subduction process before its melting.Except for Gadanya alkali granite,fractionation of titanite and apatite dominate the magma evolution with limited amphibole fractionation.Melt that crystallized Gadanya alkali granite is rather saturated in zircon without accessory titanite or apatite.

Analysis on Local and Concurrent Commutation Failure of Multi-infeed HVDC Considering Inter-converter Interaction

This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of local and concurrent commutation failure(CF)of multi-infeed high-voltage direct current(HVDC)system considering multi-infeed interaction factor(MIIF).The literature indicates that the local CF is not influenced by MIIF,whereas this paper concludes that both the local CF and concurrent CF are influenced by MIIF.The ability of remote converter to work under reduced reactive power enables its feature to support local converter via inter-connection link.The MIIF measures the strength of electrical connectivity between converters.Higher MIIF gives a clearer path to remote converter to support local converter,but at the same time,it provides an easy path to local converter to disturb remote converter under local fault.The presence of nearby converter increases the local commutation failure immunity index(CFII)while reducing concurrent CFII.Higher MIIF causes reactive power support to flow from remote converter to local converter,which reduces the chances of CF.A mathematical approximation to calculate the increase in local CFII for multi-infeed HVDC configurations is also proposed.A power flow approach is used to model the relation between MIIF and reactive power support from remote end.The local and concurrent CFIIs are found to be inverse to each other over MIIF;therefore,it is recommended that there is an optimal value of MIIF for all converters in close electric proximity to maintain CFII at a certain level.The numerical results of established model are compared with PSCAD/EMTDC simulations.The simulation results show the details of the influence of MIIF on local CF and concurrent CF of multi-infeed HVDC,which validates the analysis presented.

Spatially continuous transformer online temperature monitoring based on distributed optical fibre sensing technology

Transformer internal thermal monitoring exists huge blind areas,and it is difficult for traditional methods to get fully distributed temperature in real time.In this contri-bution,the distributed optical fibre sensor was creatively applied inside an operating 35 kV oil‐immersed transformer which is also qualified for actual power grid oper-ation through the ex‐factory tests.Furthermore,the full‐region temperature along the windings and iron limbs were firstly monitored in a spatiotemporally continuous manner and the hotspots were also closely traced,fluctuating at 90%of the high‐voltage winding height(80%for low‐voltage winding)during the whole process of the heat‐run test.Corresponding Finite Element Method(FEM)for thermo‐fluid field calculation was then utilized for deeper analysis.On the former basis,the actual detected temperature distributions(both spatial and temporal)were compared with the International Electrotechnical Commission traditional model and some modifi-cations were suggested based on the real time measured data.This novel online monitoring application and the detailed internal thermal information may provide a solid reference for the delicate management of power transformers,which also offers a new horizon for the online monitoring in electrical apparatus industry.

Fine-Tuning Pre-Trained CodeBERT for Code Search in Smart Contract

Smart contracts,which automatically execute on decentralized platforms like Ethereum,require high security and low gas consumption.As a result,developers have a strong demand for semantic code search tools that utilize natural language queries to efficiently search for existing code snippets.However,existing code search models face a semantic gap between code and queries,which requires a large amount of training data.In this paper,we propose a fine-tuning approach to bridge the semantic gap in code search and improve the search accuracy.We collect 80723 different pairs offrom Etherscan.io and use these pairs to fine-tune,validate,and test the pre-trained CodeBERT model.Using the fine-tuned model,we develop a code search engine specifically for smart contracts.We evaluate the Recall@k and Mean Reciprocal Rank(MRR)of the fine-tuned CodeBERT model using different proportions of the finetuned data.It is encouraging that even a small amount of fine-tuned data can produce satisfactory results.In addition,we perform a comparative analysis between the fine-tuned CodeBERT model and the two state-of-the-art models.The experimental results show that the finetuned CodeBERT model has superior performance in terms of Recall@k and MRR.These findings highlight the effectiveness of our finetuning approach and its potential to significantly improve the code search accuracy.

Petrogenesis and tectonic implications of Late Triassic granitoids in the Alananshan,East Kunlun belt:evidence from geochemistry,geochronology,and zircon Hf isotopic compositions

The Qimantag in the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt has widespread Triassic magmatic rocks that have received scant attention,with an unresolved issue relating to its petrogenesis and geodynamics.In this paper,we used zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry to trace the petrogenesis and tectonic settings of the moyite and monzogranite from the Qimantag Alananshan,East Kunlun.The moyite and monzogranite are silicic(SiO_(2-)~69.9-76.41%),highly alkali(Na_(2)O+K_(2)O~7.29 to8.96 wt.%),with Mg^(#)about 10.4-30.34,indicative of a high-K calc-alkaline rock series.The rare earth element patterns diagram is right-leaning,with a negative Eu anomaly(δEu=0.31-0.68).They are enriched in Rb,K,and light rare earth elements but depleted in Nb,Ta,and Ti,with abundant amphibole,typical of I-type granites.U-Pb on zircon constrained the emplacement of the moyite at 223.9±2.6 Ma and monzogranite at 226.9±2.9 Ma.TheεHf(t)values range from-2.8 to+0.1 except for one outlier value of-7.0,corresponding two-stage model age of 1249-1437 Ma.Our combined geochemical and isotopic results indicate that the moyite and monzogranite were derived from partial melting of the lower thicken crust with the contribution from the older basement materials.These rocks formed in a post-collision setting that is transitional between compressive collision and extension orogeny.
