BACKGROUND Type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(T2DM)has been associated with increased risk of colon cancer(CC)and worse prognosis in patients with *** effects of T2DM on postoperative chemoresistance rate(CRR)and long-term disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS)in patients with stage Ⅲ CC who receive curative resection remain *** To investigate whether T2DM or glycemic control is associated with worse postoperative survival outcomes in stage Ⅲ *** This retrospective cohort study included 278 patients aged 40-75 years who underwent surgery for stage Ⅲ CC from 2018 to *** on preoperative T2DM history,the patients were categorized into non-DM(n=160)and DM groups(n=118).The latter was further divided into well-controlled(n=73)and poorly controlled(n=45)groups depending on the status of glycemic ***,OS,and CRR were compared between the groups and Cox regression analysis was used to identify risk *** Patients in the DM and non-DM groups demonstrated similar DFS,OS,and CRR(DFS:72.03%vs 78.75%,P=0.178;OS:81.36%vs 83.12%,P=0.638;CRR:14.41%vs 7.5%,P=0.063).Poorly controlled DM was associated with a significantly worse prognosis and higher CRR than well-controlled DM(DFS:62.22%vs 78.07%,P=0.021;OS:71.11%vs 87.67%,P=0.011;CRR:24.40%vs 8.22%,P=0.015).High preoperative fasting plasma glucose[DFS:Hazard ratio(HR)=2.684,P<0.001;OS:HR=2.105,P=0.019;CRR:HR=2.214,P=0.005]and glycosylated hemoglobin levels(DFS:HR=2.344,P=0.006;OS:HR=2.119,P=0.021;CRR:HR=2.449,P=0.009)indicated significantly poor prognosis and high CRR,while T2DM history did not(DFS:HR=1.178,P=0.327;OS:HR=0.933,P=0.739;CRR:HR=0.997,P=0.581).CONCLUSION Increased preoperative fasting plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels,but not T2DM history,were identified as risk factors associated with poor postoperative outcomes and high CRR in patients with stage Ⅲ CC.

Due to water conflicts and allocation in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin(LMRB), the spatio-temporal differentiation of total water resources and the natural-human influence need to be clarified. This work investigated LMRB's terrestrial water storage anomaly(TWSA) and its spatio-temporal dynamics during 2002–2020. Considering the effects of natural factors and human activities, the respective contributions of climate variability and human activities to terrestrial water storage change(TWSC) were separated. Results showed that:(1) LMRB's TWSA decreased by 0.3158 cm/a.(2) TWSA showed a gradual increase in distribution from southwest of MRB to middle LMRB and from northeast of LRB to middle LMRB. TWSA positively changed in Myanmar while slightly changed in Laos and China. It negatively changed in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.(3) TWSA components decreased in a descending order of soil moisture, groundwater and precipitation.(4) Natural factors had a substantial and spatial differentiated influence on TWSA over the LMRB.(5) Climate variability contributed 79% of TWSC in the LMRB while human activities contributed 21% with an increasing impact after 2008. The TWSC of upstream basin countries was found to be controlled by climate variability while Vietnam and Cambodia's TWSC has been controlled by human activities since 2012.

Low-electrode capacitive deionization(FCDI)is an emerging desalination technology with great potential for removal and/or recycling ions from a range of ***,it still suffers from inefficient charge transfer and ion transport kinetics due to weak turbulence and low electric intensity in flow electrodes,both restricted by the current ***,a new tip-array current collector(designated as T-CC)was developed to replace the conventional planar current collectors,which intensifies both the charge transfer and ion transport *** effects of tip arrays on flow and electric fields were studied by both computational simulations and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,which revealed the reduction of ion transport barrier,charge transport barrier and internal *** the voltage increased from 1.0 to 1.5 and 2.0 V,the T-CC-based FCDI system(T-FCDI)exhibited average salt removal rates(ASRR)of 0.18,0.50,and 0.89μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),respectively,which are 1.82,2.65,and 2.48 folds higher than that of the conventional serpentine current collectors,and 1.48,1.67,and 1.49 folds higher than that of the planar current ***,with the solid content in flow electrodes increased from 1 to 5 wt%,the ASRR for T-FCDI increased from 0.29 to 0.50μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),which are 1.70 and 1.67 folds higher than that of the planar current ***,a salt removal efficiency of 99.89%was achieved with T-FCDI and the charge efficiency remained above 95%after 24 h of operation,thus showing its superior long-term stability.

We propose a major upgrade to the existing PandaX-4T experiment at the China Jinping Underground *** new experiment,PandaX-xT,will be a multi-ten-tonne liquid xenon,ultra-low background,and general-purpose *** full-scaled PandaX-xT contains a 43-t liquid xenon active *** an experiment will significantly advance our fundamental understanding of particle physics and *** sensitivity of dark matter direct detection will be improved by nearly two orders of magnitude compared to the current best limits,approaching the so-called “neutrino floor” for a dark matter mass above 10 GeV/c2,providing a key test to the Weakly Interacting Massive Particle *** searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay of136Xe isotope in the detector,the effective Majorana neutrino mass can be measured to a 10-41 meV/c2sensitivity,providing a key test to the Dirac/Majorana nature of *** neutrinos and other ultra-rare interactions can also be measured and searched for with an unprecedented background level,opening up new windows of *** on the findings,PandaX-xT will seek the next stage upgrade utilizing isotopic separation of natural xenon.

Chemical warfare agents（CWAs） can cause significant harm to health and even death in a very short time even when inhaled in small amounts（～100 mg min/m3）. Detection equipment based on conventional techniques, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and ion mobility spectrometry, have the disadvantages of high cost, long detection time, and high power consumption. Rapid, portable, and convenient equipment for target CWAs detection under interference is a challenge. In this study, we propose an alarm system comprising a multitype micro sensor array and a field-programmable gate array-based readout circuit for CWAs simulants detection. Under common volatile organic compound, temperature, and water vapor interference, the proposed multitype sensor-based detection system realizes an alarm function in less than 20 s with thresholds of 1 ppm dimethyl methylphosphonate（DMMP）, 4.6 ppm 2,2'-dichlorodiethyl ether（DCE）, and 20 ppm SO2. Furthermore, the proposed detection system was evaluated outside the laboratory and passed the wilderness test, demonstrating its reliability in the atmosphere. We believe that the proposed alarm system will contribute to the development of intelligent, portable, low-cost, and anti-interference CWAs detection technology.

Effect of Percutaneous Catheterization and Negative Pressure Drainage in the Treatment of Giant Pancreatic Pseudocyst

Bcakground: Pancreatic pseudocyst (PPC) is a common complication arising from acute or chronic pancreatitis, trauma, or pancreatic duct obstruction. When acute fluid collection persists for 4 - 6 weeks and is encapsulated by a fibrous wall, it is classified as a pancreatic pseudocyst. While PPC is generally asymptomatic in many patients, it can manifest with persistent abdominal pain, dyspepsia, intra-cystic infection, and potentially lead to gastrointestinal obstruction in some cases. Although smaller PPCs may resolve spontaneously, larger PPCs tend to be refractory to absorption and often necessitate surgical intervention to prevent complications such as intracystic hemorrhage. Objective: To explore the efficacy of percutaneous catheterization with negative pressure in the treatment of large pancreatic pseudocysts. Methods: The cases of large pancreatic pseudocysts treated in our hospital from 2004 to 2022 were retrospectively collected, and the general condition, operation time, drainage time, feeding time, postoperative complications, hospital stay, cost and follow-up of the patients were analyzed. Results: A total of 132 patients with large pancreatic pseudocysts were collected. The average operation time was 32.4 ± 2.1 min;The retention time of the drainage tube was 30 ± 1.8 days in the percutaneous negative pressure drainage group;The postoperative feeding time was no fasting after local anesthesia drainage;Postoperative complications (bleeding, infection, pancreatic leakage, recurrence, anastomotic leakage, etc.): Two of the 132 patients had recurrent cysts, which were cured by re-puncture and negative pressure drainage. The length of hospital stay was 6 ± 1.1 days;The cost was 11,200 ± 1300 yuan;Follow-up: The follow-up time ranged from 1 to 3 years, and the patients had no discomfort. Early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases(CVDs) can be significantly enhanced through the use of flexible wearable electrocardiogram(ECG) sensors, potentially reducing CVD-related mortality. This paper introduces an ECG-on-Chip(EoC) solution tailored for flexible ECG sensors, incorporating novel features to address common challenges in wearable ECG technology. The EoC integrates a chopper-stabilized capacitively-coupled instrumentation amplifier(CS-CCIA),ensuring a high common-mode rejection ratio(CMRR) and low noise performance. Performance is further boosted via a positive feedback loop(PFL) and a programmable gain amplifier(PGA) with shared on-chip calibration logic, which enhances input impedance and minimizes gain variability to ensure consistent algorithm performance. Additionally, a secondary chopping technique is employed to further reduce noise, achieving an input-referred noise level of 454 nVrms. The embedded algorithm within the EoC is designed to extract clinically meaningful features, facilitating robust real-time arrhythmia analysis. Fabricated using a 0.18 μm CMOS process, the EoC consumes 14.9 μW with a supply voltage of 1.2 V. The algorithm's efficacy has been validated over 0.4 million heartbeats, demonstrating a sensitivity of over 99.7% for R-peak detection and 98.3% for arrhythmia analysis. To demonstrate practical application, the EoC has been integrated with a commercial Bluetooth low energy(BLE)transceiver, forming a wireless arrhythmia monitoring sensor equipped with dry electrodes. This system consumes 292.04 μW in arrhythmia-aware transmission mode, supporting 13 days of operation with a 30 mAh thin-film battery.
