This paper focuses on generating an optimal surgery schedule of elective-patients in multiple operating theatres, which considering the intra-operative care and recovery phases. We try to determine the surgery sequence and location. With regard to the downstream process, recovery room, the problem is modeled as a hybrid integer program with the objective of minimizing the operating costs of hospital, which includes operating rooms’ fixed costs, operating rooms’ overtime costs and recovery costs. A discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm combined with heuristic rules is proposed. We text our approach with realistic data, the results show the algorithm we present basically reached the same level of CPLEX, while the computation time is far less than CPLEX. Additionally, the approach can find the optimized number of daily opening operating rooms and recovery beds through varying parameters in the experiment, which give management insights to hospital and reduce the daily operating cost.

For overcoming the shortcomings of the existing method of the construction of scientific and technological innovation team, this paper proposes a new method. In the new method, the selected candidate has the higher similarity not only with the knowledge that team needs, but also with the selected persons previously. Therefore, this method may increase the knowledge communication greatly. By the simulation based on the Repast platform to compare the old method and our proposed method of the construction of scientific and technological innovation team, we validate the novel approach of scientific and technology innovative has the advantage..

The purpose of this research is to clarify and optimize the job shop scheduling problem under the environment of hybrid operations of machining. The machining operations of the jobs could not be finished in its own plant and thus inter-cell productions are considered. First, we clarify the features of the above job shop scheduling problem in detail and propose a new optimization criterion which accords with fact problems. Second, we set up a mathematical model for such job shop scheduling problem. Then, we bring up two heuristic algorithms named JSB- GAHEU （Joint Scheduling-based） and SCMC-HEU （System-Coordinated based Min Cost） whose chromosomes have two layer structures to solve the model. The optimal solution of the former algorithm is taken as the reference points of calculating the fitness of the latter algorithm. At last, we analyze the proper application scope of the two algorithms through changing their parameters.

In this paper, we derive solution approaches for outpatient appointment schedule problem with routine and urgent patients under deterministic service time considering no-show probability to minimize a weighted sum of average waiting time, idle time and overtime. An exact method is designed to find an optimal solution. Numerical experiments are conducted to illustrate what’s the impact of the critical factors on service efficiency of the clinic in practice, which reveals that lower no-show probability will benefit both patients and clinics.

This paper establishes a general multi-stage queuing network model with feedback patient flow to analyze the behavior of patients flow among the stages and the performance of emergency departments（ED） in a hospital. The queuing network is decomposed into a set of single queuing systems that include a tandem queuing and a closed queuing system. The parameter values of the system are obtained from observations through parameter estimation. The complex interaction between the neighbor stages is analyzed and the expression of the patients flow between different stages is calculated in steady state by routing probability in the system. The main performance indicator formulas are developed and results are derived by using the parameter values. Some insights are derived from experiment and numeric analysis in a case study.

This research addresses the problem of staffing in a call center with delay information, and characterizes the performance measures of the customers’ behavior. In the paper, we consider single-skill call center, which is modeled as an M/M/N+M queue. The customers’ patience times are exponential distribution. The customers’ behavior of abandonment includes balking and reneging. The probability of balking and reneging is formulated as a function of delay information. The aim of the model is to obtain the minimum staff level under the consideration of the customer’s behavior. The algorithm is developed to obtain the optimal staffing. The results illustrate that the method is effective and efficient.

The patient-flow bottleneck from the outpatient department（OD） to internal wards is always a problem. Thus, analysis of patient flow and optimization of in-ward patient routing are important to improve the efficiency of managing hospital operations. An integrated method, involving stochastic process analysis, modeling and algorithm development, is proposed to effectively solve the problem. Based on the analysis of the behavior of inpatient demand from mass data, a multi-queue routing model with a fixed topology structure is developed to describe the process of patient flow from OD to internal wards. A dynamic optimization algorithm named analytical "cutoff" algorithm is developed to serve the high-priority patients as soon as possible, while the mean patient waiting time is minimized. A series of simulation experiments have been conducted to verify the finally results.

The diagnosis-stage is always the bottleneck stage for the normal arriving patient flow and the referral patient flow influx in Outpatient Department（OD） in Chinese hospital. And the referral patient has high-priority than the normal arriving patient in general. How to minimize the referral patients mean waiting time and meanwhile keeping the normal patients queue stable? Around the goal a general two types of patient flow with non-preemptive and homogeneous server queueing model is established. An optimal patients routing policies named admissible policy is proposed and the main result formulas are developed. Some analysis around the result is made to verify the validity of the admissible policy. Based on result analysis a new question about server fairness workload is discovered in future research.

通过分析门诊业务流程特征,构建了基于排队论的I2型路由策略的门诊多阶段排队系统数学分析模型.描述了病人在门诊中挂号、诊断、检查、复诊、缴费、取药的全流程,给出了病人等待时间、护士空闲概率等系统性能指标的定量表达式.在此基础上,建立了以病人等待时间成本和护士空闲时间成本为目标的医疗单元能力优化配置模型.通过对模型特征的分析,设计了启发式的邻域搜索模拟退火算法,进一步通过枚举法求得了系统护士数量最优需求.通过数值实验分析了病人到达率对护士分配方案的影响,发现了在不同病人流到达情况下系统存在的瓶颈环节;分析了病人等待时间与护士空闲时间的成本比值对护士配置数量的影响.研究结果对护士资源优化配置与管理的实际工作具有一定的指导作用.
