Impact of minimally invasive surgery on immune function and stress response in gastric cancer patients

BACKgROUND gastric cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality *** open surgery for gastric cancer is often associated with significant morbidity and prolonged *** To evaluate the effectiveness of laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery as an alternative to traditional open surgery for gastric cancer,focusing on its potential to reduce trauma,accelerate recovery,and achieve comparable oncological *** This study retrospectively analyzed 203 patients with gastric cancer who underwent surgery at the Shanghai Health Medical College Affiliated Chongming Hospital from January 2020 to December *** patients were divided into two groups:Minimally invasive surgery group(n=102),who underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy,and open surgery group(n=101),who underwent traditional open *** compared surgical indicators(surgical incision size,intraop-erative blood loss,surgical duration,and number of lymph nodes dissected),recovery parameters(time to first flatus,time to start eating,time to ambulation,and length of hospital stay),immune function(levels of IgA,Igg,and IgM),intestinal barrier function(levels of D-lactic acid and diamine oxidase),and stress response(levels of C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,and procalcitonin).RESULTS The minimally invasive surgery group demonstrated significantly better outcomes in terms of surgical indicators,including smaller incisions,less blood loss,shorter surgery time,and more lymph nodes dissected(Pgery group,with earlier return of bowel function,earlier initiation of diet,quicker mobilization,and shorter hospital stays(Pgery group had better preserved immune function,superior intestinal barrier function,and a less pronounced stress response postoperatively(Pgery for gastric cancer not on

Quantized bound states around a vortex in anisotropic superconductors

The bound states around a vortex in anisotropic superconductors is a longstanding yet important *** this work,we develop a variational theory on the basis of the Andreev approximation to obtain the energy levels and wave functions of the low-energy quantized bound states in superconductors with anisotropic pairing on arbitrary Fermi *** the case of circular Fermi surface,the effective Schr¨odinger equation yielding the bound state energies gets back to the theory proposed by Volovik and Kopnin many years *** generalization here enables us to prove the equidistant energy spectrum inside a vortex in a broader class of *** importantly,we are now able to obtain the wave functions of these bound states by projecting the quasiclassical wave function on the eigenmodes of the effective Schr¨odinger equation,going beyond the quasiclassical Eilenberger results,which,as we find,are sensitive to the scattering *** the case of isotropic Fermi surface,the spatial profile of the low-energy local density of states is dominated near the vortex center and elongates along the gap antinode directions,in addition to the ubiquitous Friedel oscillation arising from the quantum inteference neglected in the Eilenberger ***,as a consequence of the pairing anisotropy,the quantized wave functions develop a peculiar distribution of winding number,which reduces stepwise towards the vortex *** work provides a flexible way to study the vortex bound states in the future.

garnet is a primary mineral in skarn deposits and plays a significant role in recording copious mineralization and metallogenic *** study systematically investigates the geochemistry and geochronology of garnet and zircon in the Dafang Au-Pb-Zn-Ag deposit,which represents prominent gold mineralization in southern Hunan,*** samples with distinct zoning patterns and compositional variations were identified using various analytical techniques,including Backscattered Electron(BSE)imaging,Cathodoluminescence(CL)response,textural characterization,and analysis of rare-earth elements(REE),major contents,and trace element *** garnet was dated U-Pb dating,which yielded a lower intercept age of 161.06±1.93 *** age is older than the underlying granodiorite porphyry,which has a concordia age of 155.13±0.95 Ma determined by zircon U-Pb *** results suggest that the gold mineralization may be related to the concealed *** groups of garnet changed from depleted Al garnet to enriched Al garnet,and the rare earth element(REE)patterns of these groups were converted from light REE(LREE)-enriched and heavy REE(HREE)-depleted with positive europium(Eu)anomalies to medium REE(MREE)-enriched from core to rim *** different REE patterns of garnet in various zones may be attributed to changes in the fluid environment and late superposition *** development of distal skarn in the southern Hunan could be a significant indicator for identifying gold mineralization.

Finite-time composite learning control for nonlinear teleoperation systems under networked time-varying delays

The robust finite-time synchronization control problem is investigated for master-slave networked nonlinear telerobotics systems(NNTSs) in this article. Although there have been some research achievements on finite-time control for the NNTSs, these studies are based on the strong assumptions of communication time delays or can only achieve finite-time bounded convergence even when the external forces are *** and in view of the importance of these issues, a novel robust composite learning adaptive control scheme rendering the finite-time master-slave synchronization is proposed in this paper. In particular, the influence of time delays on finite-time convergence of the system is analyzed by employing the multi-dimension finite-time small-gain framework. Meanwhile, in order to achieve accurate and fast estimation of uncertain parameters of the system, both the online historical and the instantaneous data of the estimation data are explored to derive the new parameter adaptive law under a more realizable interval-excitation(IE) ***, the convergence of the position/force synchronization errors and the adaptive parameter estimation errors is obtained in finite time, and enhanced robustness of the closed-loop system will also be ***, the superior performance of the proposed control algorithms is validated by numerical simulations and hardware experiments.

The solid solution and aging treatment for conventional manufacturing processes might not be suitable for laser additive manufactured titanium alloys due to the different lamellar *** this study,the influence of aging temperatures(600,700 and 800°C)on microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-2V-1.5Mo-0.5Zr-0.3Si was *** results indicate that after solid solution treatment at 970°C followed by water quenching,the alloy mainly consists of coarsening lamellar a phase in martensite α' *** at 600°C will not change the size of primary lamellar α phase but lead to huge amount of secondary a phases(α_(s))generating with very fine *** increasing the aging temperature,the number of α_(s) decreases but with coarsened *** aged at 800°C,the width of the asphase reaches 350 nm,almost 7 times wider than that aged at 600°*** changing size of α_(s) obviously influences the property of the *** fine α_(s) leads to high strength and microhardness but low plasticity,and specimen aged at 700°C with suitable assize has the best comprehensive properties.

A new liquid membrane diffusion model for characterizing the adsorption kinetics of europium by using a continuous measurement of adsorption platform

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental ***, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using *** results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

Association of prealbumin with short-term and long-term outcomes in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

BACKgROUND Prealbumin is considered to be a useful indicator of nutritional status. Furthermore, it has been found to be associated with severities and prognosis of a range of diseases. However, limited data on the association of baseline prealbumin level with outcomes of patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) are *** We analyzed 2313 patients admitted for acute STEMI between October 2013 and December 2020. In-hospital outcomes and mortality during the 49 months(interquartile range: 26–73 months) follow-up period were compared between patients with the low prealbumin level(g/L) and those with the high prealbumin level(≥ 170 mg/L).RESULTS A total of 114 patients(4.9%) died during hospitalization. After propensity score matching, patients with the low prealbumin level than those with the high prealbumin level experienced higher incidences of heart failure with Killip class Ⅲ(9.9%vs. 4.4%, P = 0.034), cardiovascular death(8.4% vs. 3.4%, P = 0.035) and the composite of major adverse cardiovascular events(19.2%vs. 10.3%, P = 0.012). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that the low prealbumin level(g/L) was an independent predictor of in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events(odds ratio = 1.918, 95% CI: 1.250–2.942, P = 0.003). The cutoff value of prealbumin level for predicting in-hospital death was 170 mg/L(area under the curve = 0.703, 95% CI: 0.651–0.754, Pg/L) was no longer independently associated with 49-month cardiovascular death.
