Variations of author origins in World Journal of Gastroenterology during 2001-2007

AIM:To discuss the variations and distributions of authors who published their papers in World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) during 2001-2007 and evaluate the development of WJG and gastroenterology core journals in recent years by comparing the contributions of the authors. METHODS: WJG articles published in 2001-2007 were searched from MEDLINE database (by ISI Web of Knowledge). The variations (cooperation degree, cooperation rate) and distributions of the first authors were analyzed with bibliometric methods. SCIE was used to collect articles published in Am J Gastroenterol, Gastroenterology, Scand J Gastroenterol and WJG in 2007, and comparison of the data was made. Comparison indicators included the article number of annual journals, cooperation degree of authors, cooperation rate, mean number of articles published in each WJG issue, number of countries of the first WJG authors, geographical distribution and article contribution ratio of all WJG authors and domestic authors. RESULTS: Of the 5851 articles covered in MEDLINE, 173, 236, 633, 826, 1496, 1382 and 1105 articles were cited from 2001 to 2007. The cooperation degree was 5.11, 5.56, 5.75, 5.76, 6.31, 5.90 and 5.64 respectively. The cooperation rates was 94.80%, 99.15%, 98.89%, 98.55%, 99.13%, 96.67% and 95.66%, respectively. The mean number of articles published in each WJG issue from 2001 to 2007 was 28, 39, 52, 34, 31, 28 and 23, respectively. The number of countries of the first WJG authors was 8, 8, 27, 32, 49, 61 and 56, respectively. The first authors of WJG came from 3 continents in 2001 and covered 6 continents in 2006-2007. The number of articles written by Asian authors was 136 (79.07%), 227 (96.19%), 575 (90.98%), 713 (87.81%), 1111 (75.32%),712 (53.98%) and 555 (53.21%), respectively in 2001-2007. Adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit nanopores for CO2 storage:An insight from molecular perspective

It is acknowledged that injecting CO2into oil reservoirs and saline aquifers for storage is a practical and affordable method for *** CO2produced from industrial exhaust contains impurity gases such as H2S that might impact CO2sequestration due to competitive *** study makes a commendable effort to explore the adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit *** Canonical Monte Carlo（GCMC） simulation is employed to reveal the adsorption of CO2,H2S as well as their binary mixtures in calcite *** show that the increase in pressure and temperature can promote and inhibit the adsorption capacity of CO2and H2S in calcite nanopores,***2exhibits stronger adsorption on calcite surface than *** energy plays the dominating role in the adsorption *** energy accounts for 97.11% of the CO2-calcite interaction energy and 56.33% of the H2S-calcite interaction energy at 10 MPa and 323.15 *** presence of H2S inhibits the CO2adsorption in calcite nanopores due to competitive adsorption,and a higher mole fraction of H2S leads to less *** quantity of CO2adsorbed is lessened by approximately 33% when the mole fraction of H2S reaches ***2molecules preferentially occupy the regions near the po re wall and H2S molecules tend to reside at the center of nanopore even when the molar ratio of CO2is low,indicating that CO2has an adsorption priority on the calcite surface over *** addition,moisture can weaken the adsorption of both CO2and H2S,while CO2is more *** interestingly,we find that pure CO2is more suitable to be sequestrated in the shallower formations,i.e.,500-1500 m,whereas CO2with H2S impurity should be settled in the deeper reservoirs.

Micro segment analysis of supercritical methane thermal-hydraulic performance and pseudo-boiling in a PCHE straight channel

The printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE) is receiving wide attention as a new kind of compact heat exchanger and is considered as a promising vaporizer in the LNG process. In this paper, a PCHE straight channel in the length of 500 mm is established, with a semicircular cross section in a diameter of 1.2 *** simulation is employed to investigate the flow and heat transfer performance of supercritical methane in the channel. The pseudo-boiling theory is adopted and the liquid-like, two-phase-like, and vapor-like regimes are divided for supercritical methane to analyze the heat transfer and flow *** results are presented in micro segment to show the local convective heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. It shows that the convective heat transfer coefficient in segments along the channel has a significant peak feature near the pseudo-critical point and a heat transfer deterioration when the average fluid temperature in the segment is higher than the pseudo-critical point. The reason is explained with the generation of vapor-like film near the channel wall that the peak feature related to a nucleateboiling-like state and heat transfer deterioration related to a film-boiling-like state. The effects of parameters, including mass flow rate, pressure, and wall heat flux on flow and heat transfer were *** calculating of the averaged heat transfer coefficient of the whole channel, the traditional method shows significant deviation and the micro segment weighted average method is adopted. The pressure drop can mainly be affected by the mass flux and pressure and little affected by the wall heat flux. The peak of the convective heat transfer coefficient can only form at high mass flux, low wall heat flux, and near critical pressure, in which condition the nucleate-boiling-like state is easier to appear. Three-stage niobium mineralization at Bayan Obo, China

The Chinese Bayan Obo deposit is a world-class rare earth element(REE) deposit with considerable niobium(Nb) and iron(Fe) resources. A complete genetic understanding on all metals is fundamental for establishing genetic models at Bayan Obo. With extensive research being focused on REE enrichment, the timing and controls of Nb enrichment remain unresolved at Bayan Obo, which is mainly due to the challenges in dating, i.e. multistage thermal events, fine-grained minerals with complex textures and the rare occurrence of uranium-enriched minerals with mature dating methods. Based on robust geological and petrographic frameworks, here we conducted ion probe uranium-lead(U-Pb) dating of ferrocolumbite to unravel the timing, hence the genesis of Nb mineralization. Three types of hydrothermal ferrocolumbites—key Nb-bearing minerals—are identified based on their textures and mineral assemblages. They yield U-Pb ages of 1312 ± 47 Ma(n = 99), 438 ± 7 Ma(n = 93), and 268 ± 5 Ma(n = 19), respectively. In line with deposit geology, we tentatively link the first, second and third stage Nb mineralization to Mesoproterozoic carbonatite magmatism, ubiquitous early Paleozoic hydrothermal activity, and Permian granitic magmatism, respectively. While quantifying the contribution of metal endowment from each stage requires further investigation, our new dates highlight that multi-stage mineralization is critical for Nb enrichment at Bayan Obo, which may also have implications for the enrichment mechanism of Nb in REE deposits in general.

A novel Bayesian-based INS/GNSS integrated positioning method with both adaptability and robustness in urban environments

Achieving higher accuracy positioning results in urban environments at a lower cost has been an important pursuit in areas such as autonomous driving and intelligent *** Inertial Navigation System and Global Navigation Satellite System(INS/GNSS)integrated navigation systems have been an important means of fulfilling the above quest due to the complementary error characteristics between INS and *** complex urban driving environment requires the system sufficiently adaptive to keep up with the time-varying measurement noise and sufficiently robust to cope with measurement outliers and prior ***,many efforts lack a balance between adaptability and *** this paper,a novel positioning method with both adaptability and robustness is proposed by coupling the Mahalanobis distance method,the Variational Bayesian method and the student’s t-distribution in one process(M-VBt method).This method is robust against non-Gaussian noise and priori uncertainties,plus adaptive against measurement noise uncertainty and time-varying *** field test results show that the M-VBt method(especially the Mahalanobis distance part)has significantly improved the system performance in the complex urban driving environment.
