Improved Reall-Santos method for AdS black holes in general 4-derivative gravities

For asymptotically flat black holes,Reall-Santos method is a convenient tool to compute leading higher derivative corrections to the thermodynamic quantities without actually solving the modified field ***,there are subtleties in its generalization to asymptotically AdS black holes with general higher derivative *** of all,it is necessary to know all the higher derivative holographic counterterms and the surface terms implementing the variational principle and subtracting the *** then needs to solve for the modified AdS radius and rescale the time coordinate in an appropriate way such that the induced metric on the conformal boundary of AdS black hole is not *** observe that Reall-Santos method can be directly applied to a particular 4-derivative gravity model,known as the Einstein-Weyl gravity,which does not modify the AdS radius and requires only the Gibbons-Hawking-York term and holographic counterterms for the 2-derivative *** thu. suggest that to compute the thermodynamic quantities of AdS black holes in general 4-derivative theories of gravity,one simply needs to transform it to a Einstein-Weyl gravity with identical thermodynamic variables by appropriate field *** explicitly verify this proposal with spherically-symmetric and static charged black holes in Einstein-Maxwell theory extended with generic 4-derivative interactions.

The diurnal temperature range(DTR) serves as a vital indicator reflecting both natural climate variability and anthropogenic climate change. This study investigates the historical and projected multitemporal DTR variations over the Tibetan Plateau. It assesses 23 climate models from phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP6) using CN05.1 observational data as validation, evaluating their ability to simulate DTR over the Tibetan Plateau. Then, the evolution of DTR over the Tibetan Plateau under different shared socioeconomic pathway(SSP) scenarios for the near,middle, and long term of future projection are analyzed using 11 selected robustly performing models. Key findings reveal:(1) Among the models examined, BCC-CSM2-MR, EC-Earth3, EC-Earth3-CC, EC-Earth3-Veg, EC-Earth3-Veg-lR,FGOAlS-g3, FIO-ESM-2-0, GFDl-ESM4, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MPI-ESM1-2-lR, and INM-CM5-0 exhibit superior integrated simulation capability for capturing the spatiotemporal variability of DTR over the Tibetan Plateau.(2) Projection indicates a slightly increasing trend in DTR on the Tibetan Plateau in the SSP1-2.6 scenario, and decreasing trends in the SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SPP5-8.5 scenarios. In certain areas, such as the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, western hinterland of the Tibetan Plateau, southern Kunlun, and the Qaidam basins, the changes in DTR are relatively large.(3) Notably, the warming rate of maximum temperature under SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SPP5-8.5 is slower compared to that of minimum temperature, and it emerges as the primary contributor to the projected decrease in DTR over the Tibetan Plateau in the future.

The application of steel strut force servo systems in deep excavation engineering is not widespread,and there is a notable scarcity of in-situ measured *** presents a significant research gap in the *** this,our study introduces a valuable dataset and application scenarios,serving as a reference point for future *** main objective of this study is to use machine learning(Ml)methods for accurately predicting strut forces in steel supporting structures,a crucial aspect for the safety and stability of deep excavation *** employed five different Ml methods:radial basis function neural network(RBFNN),back propagation neural network(BPNN),K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),support vector machine(SVM),and random forest(RF),utilizing a dataset of 2208 measured *** points included one output parameter(strut forces)and seven input parameters(vertical position of strut,plane position of strut,time,temperature,unit weight,cohesion,and internal frictional angle).The effectiveness of these methods was assessed using root mean square error(RMSE),correlation coefficient(R),and mean absolute error(MAE).Our findings indicate that the BPNN method outperforms others,with RMSE,R,and MAE values of 72.1 kN,0.9931,and 57.4 kN,respectively,on the testing *** study underscores the potential of Ml methods in precisely predicting strut forces in deep excavation engineering,contributing to enhanced safety measures and project planning.

The modern monsoon system consists of six regional monsoons [1]. These regional monsoons demonstrate coherently annual variations of precipitation and atmospheric circulation patterns, although they have different characteristics. Therefore, these regional monsoons are unified in the context of the global monsoon [1,2], which reflects the dominant mode of coherent annual variations of precipitation and atmospheric circulations in the tropics and subtropics.

Soft pneumatic actuators are one of the most promising actuation for soft robots,and great achievements have been *** it remains challenging to endow sensing capabilities to pneumatic actuators,especially for the sensing ability originating directly from the actuator ***,a self-sensing pneumatic torsional actuator(SPTA)is designed based on the electromagnetic induction effect and magnetically responsive *** SPTA can generate feedback voltage and current with the deformation,in which the sensing function comes from its inherent *** investigate the mechanical and electrical characteristics,an experimental platform and a finite element model are established,*** find that the torsion angle and output torque increase in nonlinear with the actuating *** maximum torsion angle is 66.35°,which is 84.34%of that for the actuator fabricated by pure *** maximum output torque(24.9 N mm)improves by 23.19%compared with the actuator made by pure *** regards the electrical characteristics,the maximum feedback voltage and current are 2.90μV and 29.50 nA when the SPTA is actuated by a pressure of−40 *** also demonstrate that the relationship between the torsion angle and the magnetic flux change is approximately ***,the number of turns of wires,magnetic powders contents,and magnetic direction on the feedback voltage and current are *** show that the feedback voltage and current can be enhanced by increasing the number of turns and magnetic powders *** envision that the SPTA would be promising for soft robots to realize their accuracy control and intelligentization.

CRISPR/Cas9 technology is a powerful genome manipulation tool in ***,little is known about whether mRNA and protein of a target gene are completely cleared in homozygous *** study generated homozygous mutants of the insulin receptor gene 2(NlInR2)in the brown planthopper(Nilaparvata lugens)using CRISPR/Cas9 genome *** frameshift mutants,E5_D17 and E6_I7,differentiated towards long wings,but there were differences in wing morphology,with E5_D17 showing wing *** investigations revealed the presence of residual expression of NlInR2 mRNA in both mutants,as well as the occurrence of spliceosomes featuring exon skipping splicing in E5_***,the E5_D17 exhibited the detection of N-terminally truncated NlInR2 *** interference experiments indicated that the knockdown of NlInR2 expression in the E5_D17 mutant line increased the proportion of wing deformities from 11.1 to 65.6%,suggesting that the residual NlInR2 mRNA of the E5_D17 mutant might have retained some genetic *** results imply that systematic characterization of residual protein expression or function in CRISPR/Cas9-generated mutant lines is necessary for phenotypic interpretation.

Effect of CO_(2) Opposing Multiple Jets on Thermoacoustic Instability and NO_(x) Emissions in a lean-Premixed Model Combustor

This paper experimentally studied the effect of CO_(2) opposing multiple jets on the thermoacoustic instability and NO_(x) emissions in a lean-premixed model *** feasibility was verified from three variables:the CO_(2) jet flow rate,hole numbers,and hole diameters of the *** indicate that the control effect of thermoacoustic instability and NO_x emissions show a reverse trend with the increase of open area ratio on the whole,and the optimal jet flow rate range is 1-4 l/min with CO_(2) opposing multiple *** this flow rate range,the amplitude and frequency of the dynamic pressure and heat release signals CH~* basically decrease as the CO_(2) flow rate increases,which avoids high-frequency and high-amplitude thermoacoustic *** amplitude-damped ratio of dynamic pressure and CH*can reach as high as 98.75% and 93.64% with an optimal open area ratio of 3.72%.NO_(x) emissions also decrease as the jet flow rate increases,and the maximum suppression ratio can reach 68.14%.Besides,the flame shape changes from a steep inverted "V" to a more flat "M",and the flame length will become shorter with CO_(2) opposing multiple *** research achieved the synchronous control of thermoacoustic instability and NO_(x) emissions,which could be a design reference for constructing a safer and cleaner combustor.
