Heterointerface engineering of Ru/Rus_(2) on n/s-doped hollow mesoporous carbon for promoting alkaline hydrogen evolution

Alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (Her) suffers from a sluggish kinetic,which requires the elaborate catalytic interface and micro-nanoscale architecture engineering of the electrocatalysts to accelerate the water dissociation and hydrogen ***,the heterointerface engineering was proposed for promoting the alkaline Her by constructing the highly exposed Ru/Rus_(2) heterostructures homogeneously distributed on hollow n/s-doped carbon microspheres (Ru/Rus_(2)@h-nsC).Benefited from the s.nergistic effect of heterointerfacial Ru/Rus_(2),the high accessibility of the active sites on both inner and outer surface of mesoporous shells and the efficient mass transport,Ru/Rus_(2)@h-nsC affords a remarkable catalytic performance with an overpotential of 26 mV@10 mA/cm^(2) for alkaline Her,outperforming most of the state-of-the-art *** applying Ru/Rus_(2)@h-nsC and its oxidized derivate for the overall alkaline water splitting,the required cell voltage is much lower than that of the commercial Pt/C||RuO_(2)pair to achieve the same current *** study may allow us to guide the design of micro-nanoreactors with optimal catalytic interfaces for promis.ng electrocatalytic applications.

Relative humidity(RH) is a critical environmental variable for transportation and storage of products and for the quality guarantee of several other production processes and services. Heterogeneous structures prepared from the selective semiconductor oxides may improve the s.nsitivity to humidity due to the better electronic and surface properties, when compared to pristine oxides. This work shows an alternative fabrication route for producing titanium dioxide/tungsten trioxide(TiO2/WO3) heterogeneous structures(by electrospinning and s.ntering) for potential application on the RH detection. The microstructural properties of the materials were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(sEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDs), X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. The electrical characterization of the structures was performed by electrical impedance spectroscopy in RH range of 10%–100%. Results indicated a p-to n-type conduction transition at around 30%–40% RH for all tested settings. The analysis of the impedance signature to humidity showed that the amount of fiber layers on the electrode and working temperature are important parameters to improve the humidity s.ns.ng of the TiO2/WO3 systems.

Effects of induced magnetic field on peristaltic flow of Johns.n-segalman fluid in a vertical symmetric channel

In this paper, the influence of heat transfer and induced magnetic field on peristaltic flow of a Johns.n-segalman fluid is studied. The purpose of the pres.nt investigation is to study the effects of induced magnetic field on the peristaltic flow of non-newtonian fluid. The two-dimensional equations of a Johns.n-segalman fluid are simplified by assuming a long wavelength and a low Reynolds.number. The obtained equations are solved for the stream function, magnetic force function, and axial pressure gradient by us.ng a regular perturbation method. The expressions for the pressure rise, temperature, induced magnetic field, pressure gradient, and stream function are sketched and interpreted for various embedded parameters.

Magnetos.nic shocks in Ultra-Relativistic Dissipative Degenerate Plasmas

Magnetos.nic shock structures in dissipative magnetized degenerate electron ion plasma are studied. The two fluid quantum magnetohydrodynamic equations for non-degenerate ions and ultra-relativistic degenerate electron fluids with the Maxwell equations are pres.nted. Us.ng the reductive perturbation technique the Korteweg de Vries Burgers （KdVB） equation is derived and its solution is pres.nted with the tanh method. Astrophysical plasma parameters are used to study the effects of variation of plasma density, magnetic field intensity and kinematic viscosity on the propagation characteristics of nonlinear shock structures in such plasma systems.

Influence of thermomechanical process.ng on microstructure,mechanical and strain hardening properties of s.ngle-phase Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy for structural application

The s.ngle-phase Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy was rolled at three different temperatures(250,300 and 350℃)and followed by annealing at 200°C for 10 *** evaluate the mechanical properties,the tensile test was conducted at a constant strain rate of 10^(-3)s^(-1).Factors influencing the tensile strength and strain hardening properties were assessed by microscopy,XRD and EBsD ***,Kocks-Mecking plots(K-M)were used to determine the different stages of strain hardening exhibited by the variously processed Mg-4Li-0.5Ca alloy test *** ultimate tensile strength has decreased as hot-rolling temperature in creases with increased *** strain hardening properties such as hardening capacity(Hc),strain hardening exponent(n)are increased significantly with an increase in hot rolling temperature and subsequent annealing.

The Grad-shafranov reconstruction in twenty years: 1996–2016

We review and summarize the applications of the Grad-shafranov(Gs) reconstruction technique to space plasma structures in the Earth's magnetosphere and in the interplanetary space. We organize our pres.ntations following the branches of the "academic family tree" rooted on Prof. Bengt U. ? s.nnerup, the inventor of the Gs method. special attentions are paid to validations of the Gs reconstruction results via(1) the direct validation by co-spatial in-situ measurements among multiple spacecraft, and(2) indirect validation by implications and interpretations of the physical connection between the structures reconstructed and other related processes. For the latter, the inter-comparis.n and interconnection between the large-scale magnetic flux ropes(i.e., Magnetic Clouds) in the solar wind and their solar source properties are pres.nted. In addition, we also summarize various Gs-type(or-like) reconstruction and an extension of the Gs technique to toroidal geometry. In particular,we point to a possible advancement with added complexity of "helical symmetry" and mixed helicity, in the hope of stimulating interest in future development. We close by offering some thoughts on appreciating the scientific merit of Gs reconstruction in general.
