Background and Aims:As a subunit of the condensin complex,NCAPG has an important role in maintaining chromosome condensation,but its biological function and regulatory mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remains ***:The prognostic ability of NCAPG in HCC patients was examined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression *** curves were plotted to compare the predictive ability of NCAPG and *** luciferase reporter system,and ChIP were used to investigate transcriptional potential of e2F1 to *** was observed by scanning electron *** expression of NCAPG,e2F1,and major proteins constituting NlRP3 inflammasome was determined by western blotting and *** in vivo tumor formation assay was conducted to verify the in vitro ***:Up-regulated NCAPG was identified in HCC tissues compared with adjacent tissue and high NCAPG was positively correlated with poor *** NCAPG mRNA level was a prognostic factor in HCC patients and also a diagnostic factor with higher predictive ability compared with AFP[AUROC 0.766(95%CI:0.650–0.881)vs.0.649(95%CI 0.506–0.793)].HBx transfection resul.ed in concomitant up-regulation of e2F1 and NCAPG.e2F1 significantly increased the activity of luciferase reporter fused with NCAPG reporter,and the interaction of e2F1 and NCAPG gene was confirmed by *** of e2F1 resul.ed in significant down-regulation of *** of NCAPG promote pyroptosis mediated by NlRP3 inflammasome activation in multiple HCC cell lines and also suppressed tumorigenesis in ***:We identified a novel role of NCAPG in the regulation of NlRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis,which was regulated by its upstream transactivator,*** role of e2F1-NCAPG-NlRP3 regulation of pyroptosis network may be a potential target in HCC treatment.

Parasitoids are key regulators in ecological communities and widely used as agents in biocontrol *** fall armyworm,Spodoptera frugiperda,recently invaded multiple continents and caused substantial.economic losses in *** zhonghuajia,a newly identified mite parasitoid,has shown potential for controlling various agricultural insect ***,this study tested the performance of *** in parasitising *** also investigated the sublethal.effects of parasitism by *** on host fitness traits,transgenerational impacts,and cellular and humoral *** result showed that the fifth-instar larvae of *** parasitised by 40 *** were all dead(i.e.,a lethal.effect),while parasitism by 5 or 10 *** was considered sublethal since many *** survived to adulthood and produced offspring after *** sublethal infl.ences from parasitism by *** resul.ed in reduced pupal weight,adult emergence rate and fecundity,but increased developmental time and *** at both lethal(40 mites)and sublethal(10 mites)levels impaired the cellular and humoral immunity of *** study presents the first empirical.evidence that mite parasitoids can negatively infl.ence host ***,it provides insights into the biocontrol potential of mite parasitoids and their interactions with hosts.

This study discusses the effects of local sites and hazard amplification on the seismic vul.erability assessment of existing masonry *** this context,a rapid seismic evaluation procedure was implemented on an old masonry building stock in the historical center Galata,located inİstanbul,to determine the seismic risk priority of the built *** scenarios were generated for all soil classes,different moment magnitudes,and source-to-site distances to obtain more accurate results for the seismic vul.erability assessment of the studied building ***,damage distributions estimated under nine different scenarios with/without site effects were compared and illustrated in maps to discuss changes in vul.erability owing to amplification *** this study,by re-examining the rapid seismic evaluation procedure by including geo-hazard-based assessment,the importance of site effects on the vul.erability and risk assessment of built heritage was *** proposed framework integrating field data and local site effects is bel.eved to advance the current applications for vul.erability assessment of masonry buildings and provide an improvement in the application of rapid seismic assessment procedures with more reliable results.

Prey species may have their own optimal.escape strategy to balance predation risks and the energetic cost of *** species have an advantage when maintaining a short fl.eing distance,while others may favour an earl.er escape based on microhabitat,size,or body ***,we examined the escape behaviour of the three syntopic Northeast Asian anuran species:Mongolian toads(Strauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frogs(Rana amurensis),and Japanese treefrogs(Dryophytes japonicus)in Mongolia,Russia,China and DPR *** examined flight initiation distance(FID;the distance from a potential predator to the point when the individual starts to fl.e)and distance fled(DF;distance between flight initiation and flight termination points)of each species and the effects of microhabitat,sex,and body *** raddei and *** had a longer FID than ***,and *** also had a longer DF than *** trends remained similar when dividing FID and DF by a size proxy(snout-vent length)for all *** suggests that the treefrog *** used a strategy to stay immobile even when they were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more sensitively to predators despite the presence of *** *** had a significantly longer FID than males suggesting that females are more sensitive to predation risk in this species,but body size was not significant for any of the three *** results indicate that the three sympatric species have different escaping strategies,likely related to differences in physiology and crypticity.

High-performance Bi_(2)S_(3)/ZnO photoanode enabled by interfacial.engineering with oxyanion for efficient photoelectrochemical water oxidation

In the present contribution,we demonstrate that the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OeR)over the bismuth sulfide(Bi_(2)S_(3))photoanode,which severely restricts its photoelectrochemical activity,is markedly accelerated by employing a sulfatecontaining ***-principle calculation points to the spontaneous adsorption of sulfate(SO_(4)^(2−))on Bi_(2)S_(3)and its capacity of stabilizing the OeR intermediates through hydrogen bonding,which is further reinforced by increasing the local density of states near the Fermi level of Bi_(2)S_(3).Meanwhile,the electron transfer is also promoted to synergistically render the ratedetermining step(from O*to OOH*)of OeR over Bi_(2)S_(3)kinetically *** but not least,benefitting from such enhanced OeR activity and efficient charge separation resul.ed from depositing Bi_(2)S_(3)on the zinc oxide nanorods(ZnO NRs),forming a core–shell heterojunction,its photocurrent density achieves 8.61 mA·cm^(−2)at 1.23 VRHe,far surpassing those reported for additional Bi_(2)S_(3)-based and several state-of-the-art photoanodes in the literature and further exceeding their theoretical *** great promise of the Bi_(2)S_(3)/ZnO NRs is in view of such outperformance,the superior Faradaic yield of oxygen of more than~80%and the outstanding half-cell appl.ed bias photon-to-current efficiency of~1%well corroborated.

Performance of evolutionary optimized machine learning for modeling total organic carbon in core samples of shale gas fields

Rock samples'TOC content is the best indicator of the organic matter in source *** origin rock samples’analysis is used to calculate it manually by *** method requires time and resources because it rel.es on samples from many well intervals in source ***,research has been done to aid this *** learning algorithms can estimate total organic carbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic *** light of these efforts,the current work present a study on automating the total organic carbon estimation using machine learning approaches improved by an evolutionary methodology to give the model flexibility and *** algorithms,differential.evolution,particle swarm optimization,grey wolf optimization,artificial bee colony,and evolution strategies were used to improve machine learning models to predict *** six metaheuristics were integrated into four machine learning methods:extreme learning machine,elastic net linear model,linear support vector regression,and multivariate adaptive regression *** samples from the YuDong-Nan shale gas field,located in the Sichuan basin,were used to evaluate the hybrid *** findings show that combining machine learning models with an evolutionary algorithms in a hybrid fashion produce flexible models that accurately predict *** results show that,independent of the metaheuristic used to guide the model selection,optimized extreme learning machines attained the best performance scores according to six *** hybrid models can be used in exploratory geological research,particularly for unconventional oil and gas resources.

Prey animals are often faced with uncertainty due to having imperfect information regarding current local conditions,including predation risks and the availability of reliable foraging opportunities(Dall 2010).As this uncertainty increases,the probability of making costly behavioral.errors also increases,leading to more risk averse behavioral tactics(Feyten et al.2019).For example,Trinidadian guppies Poecilia reticulata are far more risk averse when faced with multiple unknown sources of risk assessment information than when faced with a mix of known and unknown cues(Feyten et al.2019).Prey can reduce uncertainty by gathering and integrating private and social information regarding current risk levels within microhabitats(Dall 2010;Munoz and Blumstein 2012).
