Shape memory alloys has been widely applied on actuators and medical *** transformation temperature and microstructural evolution play two crucial factors and dominate the behavior of shape memory *** order to understand the influence of the composition of the Ni-Ti alloys on the two factors,molecular dynamics was adopted to simulate the temperature-induced phase *** results were post-processed by the martensite variant identification *** method allows to reveal the detailed microstructural evolution of variants/phases in each case of the composition of *** features were found and having good agreement with those reported in the literature,such as the well-known Rank-2 herringbone structures;the X-interface;Ni-rich alloys have lower transformation temperature than Ti-rich *** addition,some new features were also *** example,the Ti-rich alloys enabled an easier martensitic transformation;the nucleated martensite pattern determined the microstructural evolution path,which also changed the atomic volume and temperature *** results generated in the current study are expected to provide the design guidelines for the applications of shape memory alloys.

Neuroregenerafion is a complex topic in neurosci- ence and includes 3 concepts： neurogenesis, neuro- plasticity, and neurorestoration. After injury of the nervous system, axons have the capacity for self-re- pair, regrowth or proliferation. The peripheral ner- vous system is more effective at restoring damaged axons than the central nervous system （CNS）. This is because formation of scar tissue in the CNS in- fluences neural regrowth or synthesis of growth-in- hibiting proteins, thereby preventing reconstruction of a neural circuit （Silver and Miller, 2004; Enciu et al., 2011）. Parkinson＇s disease （PD） and Alzheimer＇s disease （AD） are two most common degenerative diseases of the CNS among the elderly.

Objectives: The study aimed to determine the most appropriate hearing screening test to identify disabling hearing loss for adults aged 65 years or ***: This study included 577 older adults. Four hearing screening tests were considered in the study, including the Hearing Handicap Inventory for Elderly Screening(HHIE-s), three single question tests, the whisper test, and the finger rub test. The sensitivity and specificity of these tests referenced to the hearing threshold of disabling hearing loss were ***: Among all tests, only the single self-perception question(0.7064 for sensitivity;0.7225 for specificity) and whisper test(0.7833 for sensitivity;0.7708 for specificity) could obtain both sensitivity and specificity higher than 70% for adults aged ≥65 ***: Overall, we suggest using the whisper test to identify disabling hearing loss(>40 dB HL at the better ear) for adults aged 65 years or older. However, if the conditions do not permit, the single selfperception question is also acceptable. Moreover, HHIE-s might not be a good test to detect disabling hearing loss for adults aged 80 years or older.

Due to the increasing demand for security, the development of intelligent surveillance systems has attracted considerable attention in recent years. This study aims to develop a system that is able to identify whether or not the people need help in a public place. Different from previous work, our work considers not only the behaviors of the target person but also the interaction between him and nearby people. In the paper, we propose an event alarm system which can detect the human behaviors and recognize the happening event through integrating the results generated from the single and group behavior analysis. Several new effective features are proposed in the study. Besides, a mechanism capable of extracting one-to-one and multiple-to-one relations is also developed. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can correctly detect human behaviors and provide the alarm messages when emergency events occur.

We study the hydrogen bonds effect on the water density as a function of temperature and pressure from the supercritical region to the metastable supercooled and amorphous phases. We identify two important thermodynamic thresholds, that is P~*■2 kbar and T~*■315 K, that separate two different water behaviors in terms of hydrogen bonding capability. For T < T~* and P < P~* the formation and stability of hydrogen bonded local structures are enhanced. The additional analyses of the proton NMR chemical shift and of the relaxation time confirm this evidence and highlight the structure breaking effects of the pressure. The investigation of both structural and dynamical quantities allow us to draw a complete picture of the water properties in terms of the temperaturepressure dependence of hydrogen bonding.

We treated a 77-year-old female with a rare complication of inferior vena cava thrombosis. The patient expired due to septic shock and multiple organ failure.

AIM: To reduce the possibility of gastroduodenal complications. The purpose of this retrospective study was to survey the literature and compare and discuss the incidence of post-transarterial embolization (TAE)gastroduodenal ***: We found reports describing 280 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma with TAE procedures done during the past 4 years and selected all of them for our *** these cases, 86 were suspected of suffering gastroduodenal complications within one month of postTAE treatment. Fifteen of these cases were proved by pan-endoscopy to have gastroduodenal erosions or ulcerations. We reviewed the angiographic pictures in patient records to evaluate the possibility that anatomic and technical skill factors could explain the ***: Amongst the 15 cases, 9 were primary lesions of the antrum and prepylorus; 4 had duodenal ulcer or erosions; 2 had mid-body lesions; none showed a lesion at the fundus or cardia region. Three cases had not received TAEs using our ideal method, and may be associated with possible regurgitation of gel-foam pieces into the right or left gastric arteries. Two cases involved sub-selective embolization at a distal point on the hepatic artery; one case was found by angiography to have complete occlusion of the celiac ***: Comparing our results with past cases of post-TAE gastroduodenal complications, we surmise that our relatively low incidence (5.3%) of gastric complications might be explained by our concerted efforts to improve our technical skills in multi-sequential, selective and superselective approaches to the embolization of tumor vessels.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is a pleomorphic mesenchynal sarcoma. It is uncommonly arises primarily from the intra-peritoneal cavity. Primary peritoneal MFH with tumor bleeding and rupture is rare. We describe the imaging features of a 70-year-old patient presenting with ruptured hemorrhagic peritoneal MFH at subhepatic area,accompanied by massive hemoperitoneum,mimicking a ruptured pedunculated hepatocellular carcinoma. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a large heterogeneous enhanced subhepatic mass with adjacent liver,gallbladder and colon invasion. Tumor hemorrhage and rupture complicated with peritoneal seeding and massive bloody ascites were also detected. Angiography showed a hypervascular tumor fed by enlarged right hepatic arteries,cystic artery and omental branches of gastroepiploic artery. The patient underwent laparotomy for tumor resection,but the tumor recurred one month after operation. To our knowledge,the CT appearance of ruptured intraperitoneal MFH complicated by hemoperitoneum has not been previously described.

Foxp3＋ regulatory T cells （Tregs） are unique in their immunosuppressive abilities and contribution to immune regulation. However, the homeostatic processes and survival programs that maintain the Treg population remain unclear. Here, we highlight the recent study by Pierson et al.,1 which dissected the regulatory mechanisms of Treg home- ostasis and survival.
