A Video Captioning Method by Semantic Topic-Guided Generation

In the video captioning methods based on an encoder-decoder,limited visual features are extracted by an encoder,and a natural sentence of the video content is generated using a ***,this kind ofmethod is dependent on a single video input source and few visual labels,and there is a problem with semantic alignment between video contents and generated natural sentences,which are not suitable for accurately comprehending and describing the video *** address this issue,this paper proposes a video captioning method by semantic topic-guided ***,a 3D convolutional neural network is utilized to extract the spatiotemporal features of videos during the ***,the semantic topics of video data are extracted using the visual labels retrieved from similar video *** the decoding,a decoder is constructed by combining a novel Enhance-TopK sampling algorithm with a Generative Pre-trained Transformer-2 deep neural network,which decreases the influence of“deviation”in the semantic mapping process between videos and texts by jointly decoding a baseline and semantic topics of video *** this process,the designed Enhance-TopK sampling algorithm can alleviate a long-tail problem by dynamically adjusting the probability distribution of the predicted ***,the experiments are conducted on two publicly used Microsoft Research Video Description andMicrosoft Research-Video to Text *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several state-of-art ***,the performance indicators Bilingual Evaluation Understudy,Metric for Evaluation of Translation with Explicit Ordering,Recall Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation-longest common subsequence,and Consensus-based Image Description Evaluation of the proposed method are improved by 1.2%,0.1%,0.3%,and 2.4% on the Microsoft Research Video Description dataset,and 0.1%,1.0%,0.1%,and 2.8% on the Microsoft Research-Video to Text dataset

Hybrid tri-memristor hyperchaotic map and application in Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Nets

Inspired by basic circuit connection methods,memristors can also be utilized in the construction of complex discrete chaotic *** investigate the dynamical effects of hybrid memristors,we propose two hybrid tri-memristor hyperchaotic(HTMH)mapping structures based on the hybrid parallel/cascade and cascade/parallel operations,*** the HTMH mapping structure with hybrid parallel/cascade operation as an example,this map possesses a spatial invariant set whose stability is closely related to the initial states of the *** distributions and bifurcation behaviours dependent on the control parameters are explored with numerical ***,the memristor initial offset-boosting mechanism is theoretically demonstrated,and memristor initial offset-boosting behaviours are numerically *** results clarify that the HTMH map can exhibit hyperchaotic behaviours and extreme multistability with homogeneous coexisting infinite *** addition,an FPGA hardware platform is fabricated to implement the HTMH map and generate pseudorandom numbers(PRNs)with high ***,the generated PRNs can be applied in Wasserstein generative adversarial nets(WGANs)to enhance training stability and generation capability.

Designing macrophage membrane-engineered ruthenium/selenium nanoparticles to block bone metastasis of breast cancer

Bone metastasis along with osteolysis is a common complication of advanced breast cancer,which directly destroys bone function and becomes one of the major causes of cancer-related *** is crucial to develop a new strategy to achieve effective cancer therapy and inhibition of osteolytic bone *** ruthenium(Ru)complexes exhibit therapeutic potential in cancer ***,the clinical applications of Ru complexes were limited by poor bioavailability,lacking targeting,nonspecific ***,in this study,engineering of cell membrane biomimetic modification was used to construct a highly biocompatible nanoplatform with carrying Ru metal complex of RuPOP and Se nanoparticles(SeNPs).Strikingly,the obtained RPSR nanoparticles can efficiently inhibit the proliferation,invasion and migration of breast cancer cells(MDA-MB-231 cells)in *** importantly,RPSR nanoparticles can induce cycle arrest,apoptosis by generating excessive intracellular(reactive oxygen species,ROS)to disrupt the normal redox balance and induce DNA damage in tumor ***,RPSR nanoparticles can also reshape bone microenvironment by regulating selenoproteins to inhibit osteoclasts and avoid osteolytic bone metastasis induced by tumor *** together,this study not only provides an effective cell membrane biomimetic strategy to enhance the shortcomings of metal complexes,but also demonstrates potential clinical significance for the combined treatment of anti-cancer and bone metastasis inhibition.

Ultra-high sensitivity fiber optic microphone with corrugated graphene-oxide diaphragm for voice recognition

To avoid interference from unexpected background noises and obtain high fidelity voice signal,acoustic sensors with high sensitivity,flat frequency response,and high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)are urgently needed for voice ***(GO)has received extensive attention due to its advantages of controllable thickness and high fracture ***,low mechanical sensitivity(SM)introduced by undesirable initial stress limits the performance of GO material in the field of voice *** alleviate the aforementioned issue,GO diaphragm with annular corrugations is *** means of the reusable copper mold machined by picosecond laser,the fabrication and transfer of corrugated GO diaphragm are realized,thus achieving a Fabry–Perot(F–P)acoustic *** from the structural advantage of the corrugated GO diaphragm,our F–P acoustic sensor exhibits high S_(M)(43.70 nm/Pa@17 kHz),flat frequency response(−3.2 to 3.7 dB within 300–3500 Hz),and high SNR(76.66 dB@1 kHz).In addition,further acoustic measurements also demonstrate other merits,including an excellent frequency detection resolution(0.01 Hz)and high time stability(output relative variation less than 6.7%for 90 min).Given the merits presented before,the fabricated F–P acoustic sensor with corrugated GO diaphragm can serve as a high-fidelity platform for acoustic detection and voice *** conjunction with the deep residual learning framework,high recognition accuracy of 98.4%is achieved by training and testing the data recorded by the fabricated F–P acoustic sensor.

Iterative physical optics method based on efficient occlusion judgment with bounding volume hierarchy technology

This paper builds a binary tree for the target based on the bounding volume hierarchy technology,thereby achieving strict acceleration of the shadow judgment process and reducing the computational complexity from the original O(N^(3))to O(N^(2)logN).Numerical results show that the proposed method is more efficient than the traditional *** is verified in multiple examples that the proposed method can complete the convergence of the ***,the proposed method avoids the error of judging the lit-shadow relationship based on the normal vector,which is beneficial to current iteration and *** with the brute force method,the current method can improve the simulation efficiency by 2 orders of *** proposed method is more suitable for scattering problems in electrically large cavities and complex scenarios.

How interfacial electron-donating defects influence the structure and charge of gold nanoparticles on TiO_(2)support

The reduction degree of TiO_(2)support is critical to the performances of metal *** many previous theoretical calculations,only the bridge oxygen vacancy(Ov)was considered as the electron-donating defect on reduced rutile TiO_(2)(r-TiO_(2−x))***,titanium adatoms(Tiad.),oxidized titanium islands(***),and acid hydroxyls(ObrH)also exist at the metal/support *** conducting density functional theory(DFT)calculations and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)simulations,we compared r-TiO_(2−x)surfaces with Ov,Tiad.,***,and ObrH sites loaded with Au nanoparticles(NPs).The results showed the Au NPs were oxygen-phobic but titanium-philic,resulting in wetting of Ov and *** short contact with *** and *** Bader charges of Au NPs(QM)showed a good linear relationship with the ideal number of donating electrons(Ne)from the defective sites(QM=−KeNe+QM,S),demonstrating the intrinsic electron allocation at the *** Ov,Tiad.,and *** exhibited similar slopes(Ke),relatively steeper than that of *** means in the scope of Au NP charge state,the *** *** have a close electron-donating ability with Ov,but the ObrH donates relatively fewer *** linear relationship can be extended approximately to other *** higher the metal work function,the steeper the Ke for easier electron donation from defective *** stronger the metal oxygen affinity,the more positive the intercept(QM,S).That explains the easy generation of metallic or negative Pt and Au NPs on r-TiO_(2−x),but hard for Cu and Zn in *** provides theoretical guidance for regulating the charge of metal NPs over TiO_(2−x)supports.

Robust cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning via multi-view message certification

Many multi-agent scenarios require message sharing among agents to promote coordination,hastening the robustness of multi-agent communication when policies are deployed in a message perturbation environment. Major relevant studies tackle this issue under specific assumptions, like a limited number of message channels would sustain perturbations, limiting the efficiency in complex scenarios. In this paper,we take a further step in addressing this issue by learning a robust cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning via multi-view message certification, dubbed CroMAC. Agents trained under CroMAC can obtain guaranteed lower bounds on state-action values to identify and choose the optimal action under a worst-case deviation when the received messages are perturbed. Concretely, we first model multi-agent communication as a multi-view problem, where every message stands for a view of the state. Then we extract a certificated joint message representation by a multi-view variational autoencoder(MVAE) that uses a product-of-experts inference network. For the optimization phase, we do perturbations in the latent space of the state for a certificate guarantee. Then the learned joint message representation is used to approximate the certificated state representation during training. Extensive experiments in several cooperative multi-agent benchmarks validate the effectiveness of the proposed CroMAC.

Topology optimization of chiral metamaterials with application to underwater sound insulation

Chiral metamaterials have been proven to possess many appealing mechanical phenomena, such as negative Poisson's ratio, high-impact resistance, and energy absorption. This work extends the applications of chiral metamaterials to underwater sound insulation. Various chiral metamaterials with low acoustic impedance and proper stiffness are inversely designed using the topology optimization scheme. Low acoustic impedance enables the metamaterials to have a high and broadband sound transmission loss(STL), while proper stiffness guarantees its robust acoustic performance under a hydrostatic pressure. As proof-of-concept demonstrations, two specimens are fabricated and tested in a water-filled impedance tube. Experimental results show that, on average, over 95% incident sound energy can be isolated by the specimens in a broad frequency range from 1 k Hz to 5 k Hz, while the sound insulation performance keeps stable under a certain hydrostatic pressure. This work may provide new insights for chiral metamaterials into the underwater applications with sound insulation.

SciCN:A Scientific Dataset for Chinese Named Entity Recognition

Named entity recognition(NER)is a fundamental task of information extraction(IE),and it has attracted considerable research attention in recent *** abundant annotated English NER datasets have significantly promoted the NER research in the English *** contrast,much fewer efforts are made to the Chinese NER research,especially in the scientific domain,due to the scarcity of Chinese NER *** alleviate this problem,we present aChinese scientificNER dataset–SciCN,which contains entity annotations of titles and abstracts derived from 3,500 scientific *** manually annotate a total of 62,059 entities,and these entities are classified into six *** to English scientific NER datasets,SciCN has a larger scale and is more diverse,for it not only contains more paper abstracts but these abstracts are derived from more research *** investigate the properties of SciCN and provide baselines for future research,we adapt a number of previous state-of-theart Chinese NER models to evaluate *** results show that SciCN is more challenging than other Chinese NER *** addition,previous studies have proven the effectiveness of using lexicons to enhance Chinese NER *** by this fact,we provide a scientific domain-specific *** results demonstrate that our lexicon delivers better performance gains than lexicons of other *** hope that the SciCN dataset and the lexicon will enable us to benchmark the NER task regarding the Chinese scientific domain and make progress for future *** dataset and lexicon are available at:https://***/yangjingla/***.
