In this paper, we report the results of quality control based in pbysicochemical characteriza- tion and impurities determination of three samples of fluconazole drug substances marketed in Morocco. These samples were supplied by different pharmaceuticals companies. The sample A, as the discovered product, was supplied by Pfizer, while samples B and C （generics）, were manufactured by two different Indian industries. Solid-state characterization of the three samples was realized with different physicochemical methods as： X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier-transformation infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry. High performance liquid chromatography was used to quantify the impurities in the different samples. The results from the physicochemical methods cited above, showed difference in polymorph structure of the three drug substances. Sample A consisted in pure polymorph II1, sample B consisted in pure polymorph I1, sample C consisted in a mixture of fluconazole Form Ili, form II and the monohydrate. This result was confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry. Also it was demonstrated that solvents used during the re-crystallization step were among the origins of these differences in the structure form. On the other hand, the result of the stability study under humidity and temperature showed that fluconazole polymorphic transformation could be owed to the no compliance with the conditions of storage. Objective: Implantable port thrombosis(IPT) in cancer patients is a relatively rare but severe complication. Several factors are reportedly associated with the occurrence of thrombosis. We aimed to describe the prevalence and the anatomoclinical features of IPT observed in cancer patients who were treated in a medical oncology department in ***: A total of 600 cancer patients who had port implantation from January 2013 to December 2015 were retrospectively identified. Cases with symptomatic/incidental IPT(radiologically confirmed) were further identified. Epidemiological and anatomoclinical features were collected from patient records and the department ***: We observed that 33 of the 600 patients had IPT; thus, the prevalence was 5.5%. The median age was 57 years, and the gender ratio was 0.43. Overweight or obesity was observed in 73% of the patients. IPT occurred mainly in patients with breast(36.4%) and colorectal(33.3%) cancers, which were mostly nonmetastatic(79%). At least one identified classical thromboembolic risk factor was found in 13 patients(smoking in 9, tamoxifen in 2). IPT was symptomatic in 93% of the cases, occurring within an average time of 56 days. Implantable ports were removed because of infection in 2 cases and nonfunctionality in 3 cases. IPT treatment was based on low-molecular-weight heparins(94%) and antivitamin K(6%) for an average of 130 days. Four patients had post-therapy complications: one thrombosis recurrence and three ***: IPT cases in the 600 patients were observed to occur in obese nonmetastatic cancer patients within the first 3 months after IP implantation.

Objective We evaluate the effects of Thymus algeriensis （TEO） against hydrogen peroxide （H202） toxicity on body and testis weight, testis sperm count, testis lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant enzyme activities in rats. Methods Rats were treated with low （LD） and high dose （HD） of H202 （0.1 and 1 mmol/L） in the presence or absence of TEO （150 mg/kg）. Results The results exhibited a significant decrease in body weight and testis weight, in total sperm number decrease （P〈0.05）, sperm motility and percentage of sperm viability, leading to complete arrest, in sperm flagellar beat frequency by the gavage of 1 mmol/L H202 compared to controls. The administration of H2O2 resulted in a significant reduction in testis GSH, GPx, CAT, SOD, and GST activity and significant increase （P〈0.05） in MDA concentration compared with the untreated control animals. TEO pre-treatment protected testis from the H2O2 generated oxidative stress. These results were confirmed by histological architecture examinations. Conclusion H2O2 has the ability to alter the sperm function, characteristics and development of testis. However, TEO is an efficient natural agent, which can prevent the testis from H2O2-induced oxidative damage in rats.

Soil contamination by toxic trace metal elements,like barium(Ba),may stimulate various undesirable changes in the metabolic activity of *** plant responses are fast and with,direct or indirect,generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS).To cope with the stress imposed by the ROS production,plants developed a dual cellular system composed of enzymatic and non-enzymatic players that convert ROS,and their by-products,into stable nontoxic *** assess the Ba stress response of two Brassicaceae species(Brassica juncea,a glycophyte,and Cakile maritime,a halophyte),plants were exposure to different Ba concentrations(0,100,200,300 and 500µM).The plants response was evaluated through their morphology and development,the determination of plant leaves antioxidant enzymatic activities and by the production of plants secondary *** indicated that the two Brassicaceae species have the ability to survive in an environment containing Ba(even at 500µM).The biomass production of *** was slightly affected whereas an increase in biomass *** was *** stress imposed by Ba activated the antioxidant defense system in the two species,noticed by the changes in the leaves activity of catalase(CAT),ascorbate peroxidase(APX)and guaicol peroxidase(GPX),and of the secondary metabolites,through the production of total phenols and *** enzymatic response was not similar within the two plant species:CAT and APX seem to have a more important role against the oxidative stress in *** while in *** is ***,total phenols and flavonoids production was more significant in the plants aerial part than in the roots,of the both *** the two Brassicaceae species response was different,in both plants catalytic and non-catalytic transformation of ROS occurs,and both were able to overcome the Ba toxicity and prevent the cell damage.

为了探究曲线矮塔斜拉桥主梁局部锚固区受弯扭耦合效应的影响,优化局部配筋方案,以王家河大桥为工程背景,从应力、变形及预应力施加效率3个层面,对成桥和最大悬臂工况下直桥和弯桥局部节段模型开展对比计算,提出弯扭耦合效应造成的锚固区蝶形剪应力集中区域。结果表明:弯扭耦合效应增大了锚固区主梁各构件的主拉应力;同时,增大蝶形剪应力集中区域的面积约40%,在该区域可采用非对称配筋方案,适当增加锚固处弯曲侧抗剪钢筋比例;弯扭耦合效应会使主梁锚固区横向位移明显增大,增幅接近30%,但对挠度无显著影响;弯扭耦合效应下主梁锚固区预应力施加效率小幅度提升,在配束计算时应予以考虑。

Pseudotumoral acute cerebellitis associated with mumps infection in a child

Pseudotumoral cerebellitis in childhood is an uncommon presentation of cerebellitis mimicking a brain tumor. It often follows an inflammatory or infectious event, particularly due to varicella virus. Patients could have a wide clinical spectrum on presentation. Some patients may be asymptomatic or present at most with mild cerebellar signs, whereas others may suffer severe forms with brainstem involvement and severe intracranial hypertension mimicking tumor warranting surgical intervention. Imaging techniques especially multimodal magnetic resonance imaging represent an interesting tool to differentiate between posterior fossa tumors and acute cerebellitis. We describe a case of pseudotumoral cerebellitis in a 6-year-old girl consequent to mumps infection and review the literature on this rare association.

In this paper, we study an innovative multiple access scheme that exploits the intrinsic properties of the wireless envi- ronment to improve the multiuser environment, so-called Channel Division Multiple Access (ChDMA) focusing on spectral efficiency analysis and system performance. In particular, we show that Simultaneous multiuser accessing to a common destination is made possible by considering the channel impulse response (CIR) of each user as a signature. We begin by the assumption of the channel state information available at the receiver. Then, we analyze the perform- ance of the ChDMA integration in a random environment over UWB high data rate channel. Next, we discuss the de- sign of MMSE and optimal receiver structure for such a system. Additionally, we show an asymptotic analysis behavior taking into account the channel eigenvalues distribution with the associated spectral efficiency.

Dear Editor,Phosphogypsum(PG)is the main by-product generated during phosphoric acid production from mineral *** contains mainly calcium sulfate dehydrate(CaSO4:2H2O),phosphate,fuoride,heavy metals,and radionuclides(Elloumi et al.,2015).Around 170×10^6 t PG is produced annually worldwide,although PG management is an environ-mental concern in several countries.
