Study of gonadic growth factors: Seminal transforming growth factor-β1, epidermal growth factor and insulin-like growth factor-I and their relationship with male infertility

Background: The aim of this study was to establish normal reference values for several growth factors in semen and provide a basis for understanding their physiological significance in fertile and infertile subjects. Methods: 110 infertile men semen was evaluated according to WHO standards and by enzyme immunoassay (ELISA kit protocol) to determine the rate of growth factors (TGFβ1, IGFI, EGF). We have also listed neutrophils by staining with peroxidase to examine the association of inflammation with the levels of these factors. The determination of the epididymal (alpha-1,4-glucosidase) marker was directed according to the technical recommended by the WHO in 2010. Each patient received a hormonal balance including the determination of plasma FSH, LH and Testosterone. Results: Concentrations of TGFβ1 were significantly higher in (severe and extreme azoospermic, oligospermic) pathological groups compared to the control group (P 0.05) between control and pathological groups. The IGFI is partly testicular and/or epididymal as it is lowered in some patients with obstructive azoospermia. Positive correlations were observed between the seminal IGFI, mobility (r = 0.487) and sperm morphology (r = +0.187). Immunological sperm abnormalities and/or idiopathic do not alter the rate of EGF seminal. There is no significant correlation between seminal EGF or with sperm parameters or with plasma levels of FSH and LH. Conclusion: The growth factors are primarily peptides, handling and identification in a complex environment as the seminal plasma, but it requires a lot of precautions if we do not want to expose to the risk of bad farms/interpretations of data obtained.

Low-electrode capacitive deionization(FCDI)is an emerging desalination technology with great potential for removal and/or recycling ions from a range of ***,it still suffers from inefficient charge transfer and ion transport kinetics due to weak turbulence and low electric intensity in flow electrodes,both restricted by the current ***,a new tip-array current collector(designated as T-CC)was developed to replace the conventional planar current collectors,which intensifies both the charge transfer and ion transport *** effects of tip arrays on flow and electric fields were studied by both computational simulations and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,which revealed the reduction of ion transport barrier,charge transport barrier and internal *** the voltage increased from 1.0 to 1.5 and 2.0 V,the T-CC-based FCDI system(T-FCDI)exhibited average salt removal rates(ASRR)of 0.18,0.50,and 0.89μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),respectively,which are 1.82,2.65,and 2.48 folds higher than that of the conventional serpentine current collectors,and 1.48,1.67,and 1.49 folds higher than that of the planar current ***,with the solid content in flow electrodes increased from 1 to 5 wt%,the ASRR for T-FCDI increased from 0.29 to 0.50μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),which are 1.70 and 1.67 folds higher than that of the planar current ***,a salt removal efficiency of 99.89%was achieved with T-FCDI and the charge efficiency remained above 95%after 24 h of operation,thus showing its superior long-term stability.

Although recent studies on the Semantic Web have focused on crisp ontologies and knowledge representation,they have paid less attention to imprecise ***,the results of these studies constitute a Semantic Web that can answer requests almost perfectly with respect to ***,they ensure low *** such,we propose in this re-search work a new generic approach of fuzzification that which allows a semantic representation of crisp and fuzzy data in a domain *** the framework of our real case study,the obtained illustrate that our approach is highly better than the crisp one in terms of completeness,comprehensiveness,generality,comprehension and shareability.

Gain Enhancement of Dielectric Resonator Antenna Using Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure

High gain antennas are highly desirable for long-range wireless communication *** this paper,a compact,low profile,and high gain dielectric resonator antenna is proposed,fabricated,experimentally tested,and *** proposed antenna system has a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna with a height of 9 mm and a radius of 6.35 mm as a radiating *** proposed dielectric resonator antenna is sourced with a slot while the slot is excited with a rectangular microstrip transmission *** microstrip transmission line is designed for a 50impedance to provide maximum power to the *** a result,the proposed antenna operates at 5.15 GHz with a 10-dB absolute bandwidth of 430 MHz(4.98–5.41 GHz).It is important to mention that the gain of the dielectric resonator antenna is enhanced by the introduction of an electromagnetic bandgap(EBG)*** fact,EBG units are placed below the antenna,which enhances the realized peak gain from 5.32 dBi to 8.36 dBi at 5.15 *** specifically,a gain enhancement of 3.04 dB is observed with the introduction of the EBG *** antenna has several good features such as high gain,compact size,large bandwidth,and lower losses which make it a suitable choice for long-range wireless communication systems.

The present investigation deals with the positron behaviour in Alxlnl_xSb ternary semiconductor alloys in the zinc-blende phase. The calculations are mainly based on a pseudopotential approach coupled with the independent particle model. Features such as elastic constants, electron and positron chemical potentials, positron deformation potential and positron diffusion constant are determined. Moreover, the positron affinity to InSb, A1Sb and their related ternary alloys and heterostructures is calculated. The present results are compared to experiment and found to be in reasonably good agreement. The information gathered from the present study can help in understanding the positron trapping at interfaces and precipitates and might be useful in slow-positron-beam experiments.

Analysis of the Influence of Viscosity and Thermal Conductivity on Heat Transfer by Al2O3-Water Nanofluid

The addition of nanoparticles into liquid,even at low concentrations,leads to an increase in both,dynamic viscosity and thermal ***,the increase in temperature causes an increase in thermal conductivity and a decrease in the nanofluid *** this context,a numerical investigation of the competition between viscosity and thermal conductivity about their effects on heat transfer by Al_(2)O_(3)-water nanofluid was conducted.A numerical study of heat transfer in a square cavity,filled with Al_(2)O_(3)-water nanofluid and heated from the left side,was presented in this ***,momentum,and thermal energy equations are solved by the finite volume *** the pressure-velocity coupling,the SIMPLER algorithm was *** working conditions,allowing the increase of heat transfer,are *** addition,two correlations for viscosity and thermal conductivity of Al_(2)O_(3)-water nanofluid as functions of the concentration and diameter size based on experimental measurement are *** correlations were more precisely compared to those given by the theoretical ***,other models for viscosity and conductivity depending on temperature are used and *** results reveal that heat transfer by Al_(2)O_(3)-water nanofluid is enhanced only when the temperature exceeds 40℃ and the diameter size does not exceed a certain limit of the order of 45-50 nm depending on temperature.

Robust SVM-direct torque control of induction motor based on sliding mode controller and sliding mode observer

This paper proposes a design of control and estimation strategy for induction motor based on the variable structure *** describes a coupling of sliding mode direct torque control(DTC)with sliding mode flux and speed *** algorithm uses direct torque control basics and the sliding mode approach.A robust electromagnetic torque and flux controllers are designed to overcome the conventional SVM-DTC draw・backs and to ensure fast response and full reference tracking with desired dynamic behavior and low ripple *** sliding mode controller is used to generate reference voltages in stationary frame and give them to the controlled motor after modulation by a space vector modulation(SVM)*** second aim of this paper is to design a sliding mode speed/flux observer which can improve the control performances by using a sensorless algorithm to get an accurate estimation,and consequently,increase the reliability of the system and decrease the cost of using *** effectiveness of the whole composed control algorithm is investigated in different robustness tests with simulation using Matlab/Simulink and verified by real time experimental implementation based on dS pace 1104 board.
