Dariyan (Shuaiba) Formation is one of the main reservoir units in the Persian Gulf and South Western Iran. The microfacies and depositional environment of this formation is been investigated in the current study and influencing factors in reservoir characteristics have been discussed for Dariyan reservoir in the Soroush oil field. Facies analysis conducted on core and cutting samples indicated that Dariyan Formation is mainly deposited on a carbonate ramp setting with a shallow intra shelf basin. In addition, it has been demonstrated that facies changes reflect the main controls of the tectonic and climate (sea level fluctuations) during the deposition of these sediments. To determine the reservoir unites in this formation, 5 electrofacies were determined by neural network method that it is using different petrophysical logs (i.e. GR, PHIE and SWE). Using rock typing as the best way to establish an association between the various collected data (e.g. logs and cores) and geological descriptions 4 hydraulic flow units or rock types, determined on the basis of the Flow Zone Indicator (FZI) method in the Dariyan Formation of the Soroush field. Establishing a correlation between microfacies and rock types, the carbonate zones with moderate to good reservoir properties and also the intervals with the highest reservoir quality were determined.

Peat forming environment strongly influences the economic value of any coal seam and coal-bearing ***,pal-aeoenvironmental studies provide important information for coal resource *** this context,detailed studies on selected coals from the Parvadeh Area,Iran,were conducted using sedimentology,coal petrology,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray analyzer(SEM-EDX),and proximate *** sedi-mentary facies above and below the coal seams are mainly marine or marine-influenced facies,supporting that the coal-forming mires in the Parvadeh Area developed in a paralic environment,where the base level must be closely related to sea *** contents are moderate to high and mark the influence of brackish/marine water,especially during transgres-sion after peat growth in a lower delta plain *** peat-forming mires extended on coastal/delta plain *** lower delta plain/coastal plain coals are characterized by lateral continuity and substantial thickness,whereas few coals possibly representing the upper delta plain are thin and more *** detrital nature and composition of the numerous partings and the overall high ash yield in the coal seams indicate an active tectonic area with high rates of creation of accommodation space over peat *** petrology and coal facies analysis exhibits a permanently high water table within a forest swamp and mostly rheotrophic conditions,sometimes with connection to the ***-ing to paleoenvironmental reconstructions,it seems that coal layers may be thicker,with less sulfur(pyrite),but more clastic minerals and partings toward the western part of the *** these coal seams presently have low economic potential for the mining operation,partly due to great depth,this humic,high-volatile to medium-volatile bituminous coal may be suitable for exploration of coal bed methane resources.

Integrated Rock Typing of the Grainstone Facies in a Sequence Framework：a Case from the Jurassic Arab Formation in the Persian Gulf

The late Jurassic Arab Formation, a significant carbonate-evaporite reservoir rock in the Persian Gulf, is characterized by frequent grainstone facies. For rock type identification and reservoir characterization, core description, petrographic studies and pore system evaluation are integrated for Balal oil field in the Persian Gulf. The grainstone facies are developed into three shoal subenvironments on a carbonate ramp platform： leeward, central and seaward. Compaction, dissolution, cementation, anhydrite mineralization and dolomitization are the main diagenetic processes affecting the depositional pore system. Considering depositional and diagenetic features and pore types, the grainstones are classified into six rock types （RT 1 to RT6）. Rock types 1, 2 and 5 have large pore throat sizes with inter- granular and touching vug pore types. In rock type 3, moldic pores lead to high porosity and low permeability. Rock types 4 and 6 are cemented by anhydrite, calcite and dolomite. Generally, RTs 1, 2, 3 and 5 are related to late Transgressive systems tract （TST） and early Highstand systems tracts （HST） and show fair to good reservoir quality. In contrast, RTs 4 and 6 of late HST system tract show lower poroperm values, due to evaporite mineralization. Characterization of the grainstone facies provides a comprehensive understanding of the reservoir zones of the Arab Formation.

The effect of Er3＋ ion concentration on transient and steady-state behavior in 45-nm Er3＋：YAG crystal is investigated. It is shown that by changing the signal field, the coherent field and the concentration of Er3＋ ions in the crystal, the absorption, dispersion, and group index of the weak probe field can be adjusted. Also, it is found that the probe absorption occurs in the presence of population inversion and probe amplification is obtained in the absence of population inversion.

A double cascade-type four-level multiple-quantum-well-based exciton-biexciton transitions are proposed. The study is carried out on a 4.8-rim ZnSe single-quantum well which is embedded into ZnMgSSe cladding layers and pseudomor- phically grown by molecular beam epitaxy on a （0 0 1） GaAs substrate. It is displayed that the exciton spin relaxation and relative phases between applied fields can influence the transient and steady-state behaviors of absorption, dispersion, and group velocity of two weak probe and signal fields. Also, transient behaviors of electron population of different levels are discussed. It is found that the probe or signal amplification occurs in the absence of population inversion.

All-optical coherent control of optical bistability （013） and optical multistability （OM） in the 4.8 nm ZnSe single-quantum well based on excitons and biexciton transitions is investigated. By applying a pair of phase-locked laser pulses all-optical coherent control can be obtained. Theoretical analysis with density matrix and Maxwell equations then yield the optical bistability ~nd optical multistability. It is shown that by controlling the coherent and incoherent processes, the intensity threshold of OB and OM can be modified. Also, it is found that the switching between OB and OM or vice versa can be occurred for some controllable parameters.

We study the absorption-dispersion process and group index of weak probe field in a four-level Er^3＋：YAG *** find that the Er^3＋ion concentration and incoherent pumping field can influence the absorption-dispersion process and group index of weak probe field. Moreover, our results show that Er^3＋ion concentration plays a major role in lasing without inversion and absorption with inversion.

We theoretically analyze the transient properties of a probe field absorption dispersion in a quantum-dot nanos- trueture driven by terahertz signal radiation. Here a four-level quantum-dot nanostructure is designed numerically by Schrodinger and Poisson＇s equations. We show that in the presence of the THz signal, the medium becomes phase dependent and the absorption dispersion can be dramatically influenced by the relative phase between applied fields.

In the present study,among six gravel-bed river reaches,two natural gravel-bed river reaches with approximately similar bedforms and flow conditions have been found,one river reach with vegetation on bedforms and the other without vegetation on *** on field measurements,the impacts of vegetation over bedforms on flow characteristics have been *** velocity,Reynolds stress and turbulence intensity distributions over bedforms with vegetation have been compared with those over gravel bedforms without *** using the quadrant analysis,the dominant events of turbulent flow structures have been assessed for flows over gravel bedforms with vegetation and without *** show that the effect of vegetation enhances the anisotropy in turbulence and generates strong secondary currents,which lead to the occurrence of dip phenomenon at the stoss section and the crest of vegetated *** change of bed roughness from gravel bed to vegetated bed causes a development of a new boundary *** resulted in the different shape of velocity distributions over bedforms with vegetation from those over bedforms without vegetation,which can affect the lives of aquatic *** shear stress at downstream section of gravel bedform without vegetation is much higher than that of vegetated bedform,which shows that the erosion takes place from downstream of vegetated bedforms,while in the bare beds;the deposition is at downstream of *** is found that the presence of vegetation causes a chaotic distribution pattern of Reynolds shear stress,while it has more orderly pattern at the downstream section of gravel bedform without ***,the distribution of turbulence intensity in the lee side of vegetated bedform has a concave shape and in the stoss section,turbulence is generated in ejections and sweeps near the vegetation *** findings are significant to the practice of river ecological restoration.

The behavior of the Goos–H¨anchen(GH) shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe light beams is theoretically investigated. In a fixed geometrical configuration, the effect of quantum interference induced by spontaneous emission on the phase control of the GH shifts is analyzed in this paper. It is found that in a four-level N-type atomic system as an intracavity medium, the GH shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe light beam are completely phase dependent.
