Passive RFID tags based on narrow band absorbers are proposed for railway applications. The tags consist of absorbing tiles of size 30 × 30 cm2. The de-signs of these narrow band absorbers are presented based on infinite array approximation by using periodic boundary conditions. Then, the radar cross sections (RCs) of finite tiles of these designed absorbers are compared with the corresponding RCs of a conduction plate of the same size of the tiles. The difference between the RCs of the absorbing tiles and the conducting tiles corresponds to the RFID digit “1” or “0”. An experiential verification for a sample of these narrow band absorbers is presented based on measuring a fi-nite tile inside a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell. The design of this TEM cell is also discussed in detail.

Background: Integration of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) in early 70s resulted that many LABC tumors become resectable but with total mastectomy especially those with partial response, oncoplastic techniques give better oncological outcome with better cosmetic results. Objective: We evaluate the oncological safety of oncoplastic breast surgery (Os) in LABC showing partial response to NCT. Methods: We prospectively analyzed the data of 32 out of 58 patients with LABC who showed partial response to NCT and could have conservative surgery with advanced oncoplastic techniques rather than total mastectomy. Results: Out of 58 patients with LABC, received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, complete response was observed in 8 patients (13%), partial response reported in 32 (55.1%) cases, 12 patients (20%) had stable disease and 6 patients (10%) showed progressive disease. Data of 32 cases were studied (mean age 44.84 ± 9.10 years;range 26 - 59 years). Inferior pedicle was performed in 9 cases, mini LD flap in 3 patients, 5 had Grissotti technique, 6 with superomedial pedicle, 4 had V mammoplasty and 3 with J mammoplasty and 2 had vertical mammoplasty. Margins were positive in 5 cases (15.6%) with mean margin width 9.63 ± 5.72 (range 0 - 22 mm), and the local recurrence was reported in 2 cases (6.2%). Complications were reported in 3 cases (9.3%). The follow up was 1.67 ± 1.03 (range 0 - 3.3 years). Conclusions: Integration of neoadjuvant chemotherapy together with advanced oncoplastic techniques opens a new way for management of LABC especially those showing partial response with avoidance of total mastectomy, and comparable oncological safety in addition to better aesthetic and psychological outcome.

This work deals with the boundary layer flow and heat transfer of an electrically conducting viscous fluid over a stretching sheet. Lie-group method is applied for determining the symmetry reductions for the governing equations by reducing the number of independent variables in the given system of partial differential equations by one, leading to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equation. The resulting system is then solved numerically using shooting method coupled with Runge-Kutta scheme. Effects of various values of physical parameters on the horizontal and vertical velocities, temperature profiles, wall heat transfer and the wall shear stress (skin friction), have been studied and the results are plotted. Furthermore, a comparison between the present results with existing numerical and homotopy methods has been reported and we found that they are in a good agreement.

Trabeculectomy with Ologen implant versus perfluoropropane gas bubble for open angle glaucoma in pseudophakic eyes

AIM:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of augmented trabeculotomy with Ologen versus perfluoropropane in management of pseudophakic ***:This is a comparative randomized study included 57 pseudophakic eyes of 57 patients with medically uncontrolled open angle glaucoma(OAG).Twentynine patients were allocated in group I(trabeculectomy with Ologen;trab-ologen group),while 28 patients were assigned in group II(trabeculectomy with perfluoropropane gas bubble;trab-C3 F8 gas bubble group).REsULTs:The intraocular pressure(IOP)was significantly reduced in both study groups at all postoperative follow up intervals(1 wk,3,6,12,18,24,30 and 36 mo,Ps between the mean IOP values of both groups remained statistically insignificance during the early 12 months of follow ***,the trab-ologen group achieved a statistically significant reduction over the trab-C3 F8 gas bubble group during the last 24 months of follow ***:Augmentation of trabeculectomy with either Ologen implant or perfluoropropane gas bubble are associated with strict long term IOP control and evident safety in medically-uncontrolled pseudophakic eyes with OAG.

Background In recent years,the preparation of transparent glass in the visible region has led to the development of radiation shielding materials with measuring structure and optical ***,the study on the interaction of neutron radiation with matter is important in the field of radiation *** Preparation of transparent calcium and bismuth borate oxide glasses containing Nb^(5+)ions can be used as a neutron radiation shield and determine refractive index with different methods for this *** Niobium bismuth borate glasses with composition 60B_(2)O_(3)–20CaO–(20−x)Bi_(2)O_(3)–xNb_(2)O_(5),where(x is in mol%,0≤x≤10),have been prepared using conventional melt-quenching technique;the structure of each sample was studied by XRD,FTIR,and UV spectra chart *** XRD and FTIR showed that all glass samples were highly homogeneous and had structured with short-rangeorder/amorphous *** refractive index of each sample was estimated by charts of UV–Vis and FTIR,in addition to an empirical method,and we obtained values very close to each *** refractive index values are relatively high,so this glass can be used in nonlinear studies as well as luminescence *** macroscopic fast neutron removal cross sections(R/ρ)have calculated,for all samples,and the highest value was in sample containing 2.5%niobium *** Bismuth borate glass containing a few niobium pentoxide can be used as a protective shield of neutrons.
