Pupil dynamics are the important characteristics of face spoofing detection.The face recognition system is one of the most used biometrics for authenticating individual identity.The main threats to the facial recognition system are different types of presentation attacks like print attacks,3D mask attacks,replay attacks,etc.The proposed model uses pupil characteristics for liveness detection during the authentication process.The pupillary light reflex is an involuntary reaction controlling the pupil’s diameter at different light intensities.The proposed framework consists of two-phase methodologies.In the first phase,the pupil’s diameter is calculated by applying stimulus(light)in one eye of the subject and calculating the constriction of the pupil size on both eyes in different video frames.The above measurement is converted into feature space using Kohn and Clynes model-defined parameters.The Support Vector machine is used to classify legitimate subjects when the diameter change is normal(or when the eye is alive)or illegitimate subjects when there is no change or abnormal oscillations of pupil behavior due to the presence of printed photograph,video,or 3D mask of the subject in front of the camera.In the second phase,we perform the facial recognition process.Scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT)is used to find the features from the facial images,with each feature having a size of a 128-dimensional vector.These features are scale,rotation,and orientation invariant and are used for recognizing facial images.The brute force matching algorithm is used for matching features of two different images.The threshold value we considered is 0.08 for good matches.To analyze the performance of the framework,we tested our model in two Face antispoofing datasets named Replay attack datasets and CASIA-SURF datasets,which were used because they contain the videos of the subjects in each sample having three modalities(RGB,IR,Depth).The CASIA-SURF datasets showed an 89.9%Equal Error Rate,while the Replay Attack datasets showed

Side lobe level reduction(SLL)of antenna arrays significantly enhances the signal-to-interference ratio and improves the quality of service(QOS)in recent and future wireless communication systems starting from 5G up to 7G.Furthermore,it improves the array gain and directivity,increasing the detection range and angular resolution of radar systems.This study proposes two highly efficient SLL reduction techniques.These techniques are based on the hybridization between either the single convolution or the double convolution algorithms and the genetic algorithm(GA)to develop the Conv/GA andDConv/GA,respectively.The convolution process determines the element’s excitations while the GA optimizes the element spacing.For m elements linear antenna array(LAA),the convolution of the excitation coefficients vector by itself provides a new vector of excitations of length N=(2m−1).This new vector is divided into three different sets of excitations including the odd excitations,even excitations,and middle excitations of lengths m,m−1,andm,respectively.When the same element spacing as the original LAA is used,it is noticed that the odd and even excitations provide a much lower SLL than that of the LAA but with amuch wider half-power beamwidth(HPBW).While the middle excitations give the same HPBWas the original LAA with a relatively higher SLL.Tomitigate the increased HPBWof the odd and even excitations,the element spacing is optimized using the GA.Thereby,the synthesized arrays have the same HPBW as the original LAA with a two-fold reduction in the SLL.Furthermore,for extreme SLL reduction,the DConv/GA is introduced.In this technique,the same procedure of the aforementioned Conv/GA technique is performed on the resultant even and odd excitation vectors.It provides a relatively wider HPBWthan the original LAA with about quad-fold reduction in the SLL.

Efficacy of probiotics supplementation in amelioration of celiac disease symptoms and enhancement of immune system

Patients with celiac disease(CD)have a mucosal layer that is unable to regulate the gut microbiota,leaving the host vulnerable to dangerous infections and antigens.When compared to healthy people,this dysbiosis is marked by a decrease in intra-and intergeneric biodiversity,which demonstrates an imbalance between helpful bacteria and possibly harmful or proinflammatory species.The early gut microbiota is influenced by the genotype of newborns with the HLADQ2 haplotypes,and this may modify how gluten is handled in the intestinal lumen,polarize innate or adaptive immune responses,and result in glutensensitive enteropathy.The outcome of gluten digestion can vary depending on the composition of the intestinal gut bacteria and the partial conversion of gluten into peptides larger than ten amino acids in the small intestines,which can be immunogenic.In the small intestine,114 different bacterial strains belonging to 32 different species have 27 of them exhibiting peptidolytic activity.Thus,the individual risk of developing a gluten-related illness is further influenced by microbial composition and gluten degrading capacity.The conclusion that lactobacilli and Bifidobacterium spp.may be used as a probiotic supplement in CD patients is based on their shared possession of the most extensive peptidolytic and proteolytic activity thought to be engaged in the breakdown of gluten among all potential bacterial genera present in the gut microbiota.In children with CD autoimmunity,daily oral dose of Lactobacillus.plantarum HEAL9 and Lactobacillus.paracasei 8700:2 was found to modify the peripheral immune response.Bifidobacterium.breve strains have demonstrated a beneficial effect on reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-production in CD children on gluten-free diets.

INRA82 extender enhances semen quality in ram under cooled and cryopreserved stages

Objective:To investigate the effect of INRA82 extender on ram semen quality preserved in cooled and frozen conditions in comparison with Tris-based extenders and to select the suitable extender for ram semen preservation.methods:Semen samples were collected and pooled from Awassi rams(n=5)and divided into three aliquots.Each aliquot was diluted with one of the following extenders:(1)Tris-citrate glucose,(2)Triscitrate fructose,and (3)INRA-82.For liquid storage,diluted samples were kept at 5℃ for 72 h.Progressive motility was measured at 0,24,48 and 72 h after cooling.Besides,viability,morphology,membrane,acrosome and DNA integrities were evaluated at 24 h post-cooling.For cryopreservation,diluted samples were cooled,equilibrated,loaded and frozen in liquid nitrogen.Thawed samples were evaluated in the same manner as cooled conditions.Results:Seminal characteristics were improved after cooling and thawing in samples diluted with INRA-82 compared to those diluted with Tris-citrate glucose or Tris-citrate fructose(Pm semen with INRA-82 improves semen parameters.Hence,INRA-82,as a stimulating diluent,can be successfully used to reserve viability and sustainability of cooled and cryopreserved ram semen.

Bimodal imaging of proliferative diabetic retinopathy vascular features using swept source optical coherence tomography angiography

AIm： To categorize neovessels morphology and to detect response to anti-angiogenic therapy by using structural and angiographic modes of swept source optical coherence tomography（SS-OCT）.mETHODS： Thirty-two eyes with neovessels at disc（NVD） and neovessels elsewhere（NVE）-as diagnosed by fluorescein angiography-were included. Cross sectional OCT images of disc and macular regions were registered to enface OCT angiography（OCTA）, B-scan blood flow over lay and density maps. Three eyes received antiangiogenic treatment.RESULTS： Pin point registration of cross-sectional OCT and OCTA images differentiated active NVD with vascular elements from fibrous or equivalent fibrovascular elements. En face images delineated NVE as vascular tufts or area of filling while cross-sectional images differentiated NVE from microvascular intraretinal abnormality（IRmA）. All cases were associated with enlargement of foveal avascular zone and or areas of capillary non perfusion. Regressed NVD appeared as ghost vessel or pruned vascular loops after injection.CONCLUSION： Structural and angiographic modes of SS-OCT can detect, characterize and categorize the pattern of wide spectrum of neovessels based on blood flow data and density maps. It is potentially useful to detect ischemic changes in the vascular bed and regression of NVD after therapeutic regimens providing substitute for invasive techniques.

monogenic lines,which carried 23 genes for blast resistance were tested and used donors to transfer resistance genes by crossing method.The results under blast nursery revealed that 9 genes from 23 genes were susceptible to highly susceptible under the three locations(Sakha,Gemmeza,and Zarzoura in Egypt);Pia,Pik,Pik-p,Piz-t,Pita,Pi b,Pi,Pi 19 and Pi 20.While,the genes Pii,Pik-s,Pik-h,Pi z,Piz-5,Pi sh,Pi 3,Pi 1,Pi 5,Pi 7,Pi 9,Pi 12,Pikm and Pita-2 were highly resistant at the same locations.Clustering analysis confirmed the results,which divided into two groups;the first one included all the susceptible genes,while the second one included the resistance genes.In the greenhouse test,the reaction pattern of five races produced 100%resistance under artificial inoculation with eight genes showing complete resistance to all isolates.The completely resistant genes:Pii,Pik-s,Piz,Piz-5(=bi2)(t),Pita(=Pi4)(t),Pita,Pi b and Pi1 as well as clustering analysis confirmed the results.In the F1 crosses,the results showed all the 25 crosses were resistant for leaf blast disease under field conditions.While,the results in F2 population showed seven crosses with segregation ratio of 15(R):1(S),two cross gave segregated ratio of 3 R:1 S and one gave 13:3.For the identification of blast resistance genes in the parental lines,the marker K3959,linked to Pik-s gene and the variety IRBLKS-F5 carry this gene,which was from the monogenic line.The results showed that four genotypes;Sakha 105,Sakha 103,Sakha 106 and IRBLKS-F5 were carrying Pik-s gene,while was absent in the Sakha 101,Sakha 104,IRBL5-m,IRBL9-W,IRBLTACP1 and IRBL9-W(R)genotypes.As for Pi 5 gene,the results showed that it was present in Sakha 103 and Sakha 104 varieties and absent in the rest of the genotypes.In addition,Pita-Pita-2 gene was found in the three Egyptian genotypes(Sakha 105,Sakha 101 and Sakha 104)plus IRBLTACP1 monogenetic.In F2 generation,six populations were used to study the inheritance of blast resistance and specific primers to confirm the ratio and identif

Objective:To select the appropriate concentrations of methanolic pomegranate extract supplemented in rams’semen extender for obtaining the best-cryopreserved semen quality.methods:Tris-based semen extender was supplemented with 0.0,0.40,0.48,and 0.56 mg/mL pomegranate peel methanolic extract to extend semen collected from five native rams twice weekly for two months(n=80).Pooled(n=16)post-thaw semen characteristics were determined.Thawed seminal plasma of all supplemented and control groups were used to measure malondialdehyde(mDA),nitric oxide(NO),glutathione peroxidase(GPx),superoxide dismutase(SOD),ascorbic acid,zinc,copper,total cholesterol,low-density lipoproteins(LDL),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),and alkaline phosphatase(ALP).Results:The supplementation of Tris-based semen extender with 0.48 mg/mL semen extender resulted in the highest post-thaw sperm total motility(Pm progressive motility(Pm(Pm plasma membrane integrity(Pme integrity(Pmal sperm morphology(PmDA,P0.05),and LDH(P>0.05).Conclusions:Pomegranate peel methanolic extract 0.48 mg/mL supplemented to Tris-based semen extender of rams is the best enrichment in preserving the sperm post-thaw characteristics via improving biochemical profiles and antioxidant capacity.

Spinal cord lesions in humans are associated with impaired ejaculation [1], suggesting that the effects of descending pathways on the spinal ejaculatory mechanism are predominantly excitatory. In rodents, however, there may be an additional and important descending inhibitory pathway [2]. We report a case of a patient in whom a spinal trauma was unusually associated with spontaneous ejaculation.

Response of primiparous and multiparous buffaloes to yeast culture supplementation during early and mid-lactation

Strains of live Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast have exhibited probiotic effects in ruminants. This study investigated the effects of the dietary yeast supplement, S. cerevisiae(Yea-Sacc^(1026)), on primiparous(PP)and multiparous(mP) Egyptian buffaloes in early to mid-lactation. Lactating buffaloes were fed either a basal total mixed ration(TmR, control; 4 PP and 8 mP) or the basal TmR plus 10 g Yea-Sacc^(1026) per buffalo cow per day(yeast; 4 PP and 8 mP). The feeds were given from 15 days prepartum to 180 days postpartum. Feed intake, body weight, and milk yields(mY) were recorded, and milk and blood samples were collected for analyses. Feces were collected from days 45 to 47 during early lactation and from days 90 to92 during mid-lactation to determine apparent digestibility of dry matter(Dm), organic matter(Om),crude protein(CP) and crude fiber(CF). Energy corrected milk yield(ECm), feed conversion, and energy and nitrogen conversion efficiency were calculated. Yeast treated mP buffaloes consumed more Dm(P m and Om were significantly greater at mid-lactation for treated versus control group(P = 0.001). Crude fiber digestibility was greater in mP than in PP buffaloes(P = 0.049), and yeast supplemented mP cows had a greater CF digestibility than control mP buffaloes at mid-lactation(P = 0.010). Total blood lipids decreased after yeast supplementation(P= 0.029). milk yields, ECm, fat and protein yields increased for yeast treated mP buffaloes(P mentation in buffalo cows is parity dependent. multiparous buffaloes respond to yeast supplementation with an increased Dm intake and CF digestibility without significant weight gains, allowing a greater ECm yield with less fat mobilization. Traditional security systems are exposed to many various attacks,which represents a major challenge for the spread of the Internet in the future.Innovative techniques have been suggested for detecting attacks using machine learning and deep learning.The significant advantage of deep learning is that it is highly efficient,but it needs a large training time with a lot of data.Therefore,in this paper,we present a new feature reduction strategy based on Distributed Cumulative Histograms(DCH)to distinguish between dataset features to locate the most effective features.Cumulative histograms assess the dataset instance patterns of the applied features to identify the most effective attributes that can significantly impact the classification results.Three different models for detecting attacks using Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and Long Short-Term memory Network(LSTm)are also proposed.The accuracy test of attack detection using the hybrid model was 98.96%on the UNSW-NP15 dataset.The proposed model is compared with wrapper-based and filter-based Feature Selection(FS)models.The proposed model reduced classification time and increased detection accuracy.
