The induced pluripotent stem cell(iPSC)technology has transformed in vitro research and holds great promise to advance regenerative *** have the capacity for an almost unlimited expansion,are amenable to genetic engineering,and can be differentiated into most somatic cell *** have been widely applied to model human development and diseases,perform drug screening,and develop cell *** this review,we outline key developments in the iPSC field and highlight the immense versatility of the iPSC technology for in vitro modeling and therapeutic *** begin by discussing the pivotal discoveries that revealed the potential of a somatic cell nucleus for reprogramming and led to successful generation of *** consider the molecular mechanisms and dynamics of somatic cell reprogramming as well as the numerous methods available to induce ***,we discuss various iPSC-based cellular models,from mono-cultures of a single cell type to complex three-dimensional organoids,and how these models can be applied to elucidate the mechanisms of human development and *** use examples of neurological disorders,coronavirus disease 201.(COVID-1.),and cancer to highlight the diversity of disease-specific phenotypes that can be modeled using iPSC-derived *** also consider how iPSC-derived cellular models can be used in high-throughput drug screening and drug toxicity ***,we discuss the process of developing autologous and allogeneic iPSC-based cell therapies and their potential to alleviate human diseases.

A concept of dual gas solid reactions with the converse vector that simultaneously take place inside the pellet and between the gas and pellet has been put forward. Two parameters used for describing the character of dual gas solid reactions are found out and verified by the reduction experiment of the pellet containing carbon in CO 2 atmosphere. Of the parameters, critical rate of dual gas solid reactions with converse vector is used to express minimum rate of gas solid reaction inside the pellet, which is able to make reaction between gas and pellet halt. This rate can be measured and calculated. Diffusion coefficient of dual gas solid reaction with converse vector disturbed by the gas expelled from inside the pellet can also be calculated by the critical rate and reaction rate of gas solid inside the pellet.

Persisters refer to genetically drug susceptible quiescent(non-growing or slow growing)bacteria that survive in stress environments such as antibiotic exposure,acidic and starvation *** cells can regrow after stress removal and remain susceptible to the same *** are underlying the problems of treating chronic and persistent infections and relapse infections after treatment,drug resistance development,and biofilm infections,and pose significant challenges for effective *** the characteristics and the exact mechanisms of persister formation,especially the key molecules that affect the formation and survival of the persisters is critical to more effective treatment of chronic and persistent ***,genes related to persister formation and survival are being discovered and confirmed,but the mechanisms by which bacteria form persisters are very complex,and there are still many unanswered *** article comprehensively summarizes the historical background of bacterial persisters,details their complex characteristics and their relationship with antibiotic tolerant and resistant bacteria,systematically elucidates the interplay between various bacterial biological processes and the formation of persister cells,as well as consolidates the diverse anti-persister compounds and *** hope to provide theoretical background for in-depth research on mechanisms of persisters and suggest new ideas for choosing strategies for more effective treatmentofpersistent infections.

Different from the standard linear quadratic(LQ)problem for stochastic systems,the LQ problem considered in the paper has extra measurability *** problem also appears in the LQ control problem for stochastic systems with delays,rational expectations problems,asymmetric information control,and so *** essential difficulty lies in that one has to optimize the input and its conditional expectations *** stochastic maximum principle(SMP)and orthogonal decomposition technique are the key ***,the authors establish the SMP and convert the original problem into forward and backward stochastic difference equations(FBSDEs)with extra measurability ***,the authors resolve the FBSDEs by using the orthogonal decomposition technique and obtain the analytical solution to the underlying ***,the authors explore the essential distinction between the problem and the standard stochastic LQ control ***,numerical examples are given to illustrate the obtained results.

Visible-light-driven photocatalysis is a promising technology for the treatment of dye *** this work,a novel photocatalyst of K-doped g-C_(3)N_(4) loaded on magnetic attapulgite(ATP)(Kω-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4))with excellent visible light photocatalytic properties and stability were successfully prepared and *** removal efficiency of Kω-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) for malachite green(MG)was studied,and the degradation mechanism was analyzed and *** was found that the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) photocatalyst possessed excellent degradation efficiency of over 98.0%for the MG dye wastewater under optimal ***,the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) materials possessed good recyclability with a removal rate over 82%after 4 *** visible light condition,the K_(5)-g-C_(3)N_(4)@ATP-Fe_(3)O_(4) photocatalyst produce radicals of·OH and O_(2)^(-)to degrade the MG dyes,which was supported by electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)and radical trapping *** addition,the LC-MS analysis interpreted the degradation pathways and intermediates of MG in the *** findings in this work indicate that the prepared photocatalytic material has excellent degradation efficiency for MG and can be applied in dye wastewater treatment.

To investigate the corrosion degradation law and service life of reinforced concrete in various salt solution environments,reinforced concrete specimens were semi-immersed in 3%Na_(2)CO_(3)(N3-0-0),3%Na_(2)CO_(3)+3%NaCl(N3-Cl3-0)and 3%Na_(2)CO_(3)+3%NaCl+3%Na_(2)SO_(4)(N3-Cl3-S3)salt *** electrochemical workstation was used for regular non-destructive testing,and the polarization curve and related electrochemical parameters were used as the macroscopic durability evaluation indicators,while microscopic analysis of steel bar corrosion products was performed in combination with SEM and *** addition,the corrosion current density degradation model of GM(1.1.was established and compared with the modified GM(1.1.-Markov degradation *** results showed that the prediction error of the GM(1.1.-Markov model was smaller and more accurate than that of GM(1.1..The reinforced concrete specimens in the N3-0-0,N3-Cl3-0 and N3-Cl3-S3 solutions reached the failure state in 3.08,1.67,and 2.30 years,respectively,as predicted by the GM(1.1.-Markov *** to ESM and EDS microscopic analysis of reinforcement,carbonate had no significant effect on reinforcement corrosion,chloride ions played a dominant role in reinforcement corrosion,and sulfate ion improved concrete's resistance to chloride ion *** on GM(1.1.-Markov model,the failure and damage of reinforced concrete in saline soil areas can be quantitatively evaluated in the whole life cycle,which provides a theoretical basis for the early maintenance or reinforcing of reinforced concrete.

Performance Improvement of Two-Phase Steam Ejector based on CFD Techniques,Response Surface Methodology and Genetic Algorithm

The steam ejector is a crucial component in the waste heat recovery *** performance determines the amount of recovered heat and system ***,poor ejector performance has always been the main bottleneck for system ***,this study proposes an optimization methodology to improve the steam ejector's performance by utilizing computational fluid dynamics(CFD) techniques,response surface methodology(RSM),and genetic algorithm(GA).Firstly,a homogeneous equilibrium model(HEM) was established to simulate the two-phase flow in the steam ***,the orthogonal test was presented to the screening of the key decision variables that have a significant impact on the entrainment ratio(ER).Next,the RSM was used to fit a response surface regression model(RSRM).Meanwhile,the effect of the interaction of geometric parameters on the performance of the steam ejector was ***,GA was employed to solve the RSRM's global optimal ER *** results show that the RSRM exhibits a good fit for ER(R^(2)=0.997).After RSM and GA optimization,the maximum ejector efficiency is 27.94%,which is 48.38% higher than the initial ejector of 1..83%.Furthermore,the optimized ejector efficiency is increased by 46.4% on average under off-design ***,the results reveal that the combination of CFD,RSM,and GA presents excellent reliability and feasibility in the optimization design of a two-phase steam ejector.

Interdecadal Variations of ENSO Impacts over the Indo-Northwest Pacific Region and the Related Mechanisms

Owing to limited observations,it remains unknown whether the impact of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)on the Indian Ocean-Northwest Pacific(IO-NWP)climate showed decadal changes in the early 20th *** multi-source reanalysis and hindcast datasets from the ECMWF and NOAA extending back to 1.01.this study investigates interdecadal variations of the impact of ENSO on the IO-NWP climate from 1.01.to *** is found that the influence of ENSO on the IO-NWP climate shows“strong-weak-strong”interdecadal change during *** is characterized by much weaker Indian Ocean sea surface temperature(SST)warming and a weaker NWP subtropical anticyclone(NWPSA)in the following summer of El Ni?o during 1.46-1.67,compared with those in the other two periods(1.01.1.45 and 1.68-2009).Analyses of the datasets indicate that the interdecadal variation is mainly associated with the change in ENSO *** contrast to the period of 1.46-1.67,a greater SST variance occurred in the central-eastern equatorial Pacific during 1.01.1.45 and 1.68-2009.A stronger El Ni?o tends to generate more significant anticyclonic anomalies over the southeast Indian Ocean through *** northwesterly anomalies to the south of the anticyclone weaken the southeast trade winds and warm the south Indian Ocean SST via wind-evaporation-SST feedback,and the positive south Indian Ocean SST anomalies trigger westward-propagating oceanic Rossby waves to induce stronger warming of the southwest Indian Ocean,leading to a significant asymmetric wind pattern across the equator in *** profound northeastward winds on the north side weaken the southwest monsoon,leading to a“second warming”over the north Indian Ocean in summer,which anchors the eastward-propagating warm Kelvin waves and results in a stronger NWPSA by inducing surface divergence and suppressing deep convection.
