Microchannel flow boiling heat transfer has the advantages of strong heat dissipation capacity,good temperature uniformity,and compact structure.It is an excellent way to thermally manage electronic devices,but when the heat flux exceeds CHF(Critical Heat Flux),the heat transfer performance deteriorates as the working fluid dries out.Non-azeotropic mixtures have the potential to effectively delay or avoid dry-out during the boiling process due to their temperature slide characteristics which causes the mass transfer resistance.To understand the influence of non-azeotropic mixtures on microchannel flow boiling,using the phase-change microchannel heat sink as the research object,the experiments on the flow boiling heat transfer performance of R245fa/R134a mixtures under different working conditions were carried out,and the characteristics of flow boiling heat transfer were obtained under the different working conditions,and comparison was developed with those of pure substance R245fa.The results demonstrated that a small amount of low-boiling-point components in the high-boiling-point working fluid inhibited boiling heat transfer to some extent,and lowered the average heat transfer coefficient under the non-dryout condition slightly lower than that of the pure substance;however,it also effectively delayed the onset of local dry-out and prevented significant deterioration in thermal transfer performance under the lower mass flow rate and higher heat flux,which could enhance the heat sink's stability.

Being invisible ad libitum has long captivated the popular imagination,particularly in terms of safeguarding modern high-end instruments from potential threats.Decades ago,the advent of metamaterials and transformation optics sparked considerable interest in invisibility cloaks,which have been mainly demonstrated in ground and waveguide modalities.However,an omnidirectional flying cloak has not been achieved,primarily due to the challenges associated with dynamic synthesis of metasurface dispersion.We demonstrate an autonomous aeroamphibious invisibility cloak that incorporates a suite of perception,decision,and execution modules,capable of maintaining invisibility amidst kaleidoscopic backgrounds and neutralizing external stimuli.The physical breakthrough lies in the spatiotemporal modulation imparted on tunable metasurfaces to sculpt the scattering field in both space and frequency domains.To intelligently control the spatiotemporal metasurfaces,we introduce a stochastic-evolution learning that automatically aligns with the optimal solution through maximum probabilistic inference.In a fully self-driving experiment,we implement this concept on an unmanned drone and showcase adaptive invisibility in three canonical landscapes-sea,land,and air-with a similarity rate of up to 95%.Our work extends the family of invisibility cloaks to flying modality and inspires other research on material discoveries and homeostatic meta-devices.

Design and fabrication of Nd-Fe-B magnet with excellent thermal stability

A novel Nd-Fe-B type permanent magnet with excellent thermal stability was designed by Co replacing Fe in the main phase and the grain boundary phase.The remanence and coercivity temperature coefficient reach 0.058%/℃and 0.465%/℃in the te mperature range from 25 to 100℃,which are much lower than those of commercial Nd-Fe-B magnet.An enhanced Curie temperature is obtained for the novel magnet due to the Co substitution,which significantly improves the operating temperature.The microstructure result reveals that an amorphous phase exists in the intergranular grains which is probably responsible for the deterioration of intrinsic coercivity.This work can provide a reference for the design and optimization of components of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets with excellent thermal stability.

N6-methyladenosine facilitates mitochondrial fusion of colorectal cancer cells via induction of GSH synthesis and stabilization of OPA1 mRNA

Mitochondria undergo fission and fusion that are critical for cell survival and cancer development, while the regulatory factors for mitochondrial dynamics remain elusive. Herein we found that RNA m6A accelerated mitochondria fusion of colorectal cancer（CRC） cells. Metabolomics analysis and function studies indicated that m6A triggered the generation of glutathione（GSH） via the upregulation of RRM2B——a p53-inducible ribonucleotide reductase subunit with anti-reactive oxygen species potential. This in turn resulted in the mitochondria fusion of CRC cells. Mechanistically, m6A methylation of A1240 at 3 UTR of RRM2B increased its m RNA stability via binding with IGF2BP2. Similarly, m6A methylation of A2212 at the coding sequence（CDS） of OPA1——an essential GTPase protein for mitochondrial inner membrane fusion——also increased m RNA stability and triggered mitochondria fusion. Targeting m6A through the methyltransferase inhibitor STM2457 or the dm6ACRISPR system significantly suppressed mitochondria fusion. In vivo and clinical data confirmed the positive roles of the m6A/mitochondrial dynamics in tumor growth and CRC progression. Collectively, m6A promoted mitochondria fusion via induction of GSH synthesis and OPA1 expression, which facilitated cancer cell growth and CRC development.

Antidepressant effects of Peiyuan Jieyu formula in a mouse model of chronic stress in conjunction with lipopolysaccharide-induced depression

Objective:To explore the mechanism of the Peiyuan Jieyu formula in treating depression by assessing its impact on a lipopolysaccharide-induced(LPS-induced)depression mouse model.Methods:We created a mouse model of depression by exposing mice that had previously received chronic stress to intraperitoneal LPS injections.The mice were divided into the following groups:control,model,fluoxetine,Tiansi Yin,Sini powder,and low-,medium-,and high-dose Peiyuan Jieyu formula groups.Forced swim and tail suspension tests were used to assess the efficacy of the depression(despair)model,and weight gain rates were also measured.Furthermore,serum levels of various depression and inflammation-associated molecules,including tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),tryptophan,5-hydroxytryptamine,kynurenine(KYN),and kynurenic acid(KA)were assessed.Furthermore,the expression levels of ionic calcium-binding adaptor molecule-1(IBA-1)and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO)mRNA in hippocampal microglia were measured.Results:The model group displayed greater despair-associated immobility,which was shortened in response to various doses of Peiyuan Jieyu formula.Furthermore,formula administration significantly reduced serum TNF-a levels and hippocampal IDO mRNA expression.The high formula dose also reduced IFN-γand IBA-1 levels,the latter was also decreased in response to the medium formula dose.However,the low formula dose reduced serum KYN level and KYN/tryptophan(TRP)and KYN/KA ratios.Conclusion:The Peiyuan Jieyu formula holds immense potential in treating depression in a mouse model,potentially inhibiting inflammation and improving TRP-KYN metabolic disorders.

Leaching kinetics of fluorine during the aluminum removal from spent li-ion battery cathode materials

The high content of aluminum(Al)impurity in the recycled cathode powder seriously affects the extraction efficiency of Nickel,Cobalt,Manganese,and lithium resources and the actual commercial value of recycled materials,so Al removal is crucially important to conform to the industrial standard of spent li-ion battery cathode materials.In this work,we systematically investigated the leaching process and optimum conditions associated with Al removal from the cathode powder materials collected in a wet cathode-powder peeling and recycling production line of spent li-ion batteries(liBs).Moreover,we specifically studied the leaching of fluorine(F)synergistically happened along with the removal process of Al,which was not concerned about in other studies,but one of the key factors affecting pollution prevention in the recovery process.The mechanism of the whole process including the leaching of Al and F from the cathode powder was indicated by using NMR,FTIR,and XPS,and a defluoridation process was preliminarily investigated in this study.The leaching kinetics of Al could be successfully described by the shrinking core model,controlled by the diffusion process and the activation energy was 11.14 kJ/mol.While,the leaching of F was attributed to the dissolution of liPF6and decomposition of PVDF,and the kinetics associated was described by Avrami model.The interaction of Al and F is advantageous to realize the defluoridation to some degree.It is expected that our investigation will provide theoretical support for the large-scale recycling of spent liBs.

Hybrid3D: learning 3D hybrid features with point clouds and multi-view images for point cloud registration

In recent years, point cloud registration has achieved great success by learning geometric features with deep learning techniques. However, existing approaches that rely on pure geometric context still suffer from sensor noise and geometric ambiguities(e.g., flat or symmetric structure), which limit their robustness to real-world scenes. When 3D point clouds are constructed by RGB-D cameras, we can enhance the learned features with complementary texture information from RGB images. To this end, we propose to learn a 3D hybrid feature that fully exploits the multi-view colored images and point clouds from indoor RGB-D scene scans. Specifically, to address the discrepancy of 2D-3D observations, we design to extract informative 2D features from image planes and take only these features for fusion. Then, we utilize a novel soft-fusion module to associate and fuse hybrid features in a unified space while alleviating the ambiguities of 2D-3D feature binding. Finally, we develop a self-supervised feature scoring module customized for our multi-modal hybrid features, which significantly improves the keypoint selection quality in noisy indoor scene scans. Our method shows competitive registration performance with previous methods on two real-world datasets.

Induction of cancer cell ferroptosis has been proposed as a potential treatment in several cancer types.Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)play a key role in promoting tumor malignant progression and therapy resistance.However,the roles and mechanisms of TAMs in regulating tumor ferroptosis is still unexplored and remains enigmatic.This study shows ferroptosis inducers has shown therapeutic outcomes in cervical cancer in vitro and in vivo.TAMs have been found to suppress cervical cancer cells ferroptosis.Mechanistically,macrophage-derived miRNA-660-5p packaged into exosomes are transported into cancer cells.In cancer cells,miRNA-660-5p attenuates ALOX15 expression to inhibit ferroptosis.Moreover,the upregulation of miRNA-660-5p in macrophages depends on autocrine IL4/IL13-activated STAT6 pathway.Importantly,in clinical cervical cancer cases,ALOX15 is negatively associated with macrophages infiltration,which also raises the possibility that macrophages reduce ALOX15 levels in cervical cancer.Moreover,both univariate and multivariate Cox analyses show ALOX15 expression is independent prognostic factor and positively associated with good prognosis in cervical cancer.Altogether,this study reveals the potential utility of targeting TAMs in ferroptosis-based treatment and ALOX15 as prognosis indicators for cervical cancer.

Additives strategies to improving cycling stability of li metal batteries by modifying electrode electrolyte interphases

li metal batteries（LMBs） have attracted much attention due to the ultra-high theoretical capacity of the li metal anode（LMA）.However,the uncontrollable dendrites growth and low coulombic efficiency hinder their practical application.Here,we explore 3,5-difluoropyridine（2F-BD） as a novel electrolyte additive to enable highperformance LMBs.The 2F-BD additive participates in and modifies the solvation structure of li ions by reducing the coordinated number of PF6-at the electrode surface,leading to the formation of a liF and li3N-rich solid electrolyte interphase（SEI）.The liF component increases the robustness of SEI and suppresses the formation of li dendrites,while the li3N component facilitates the transportation and reaction kinetics of li ions.As a result,the li‖li symmetric cell presents a stable cycling performance of up to 500 h at a current density of 1 mA cm-2.After coupling with liFePO4cathode,the obtained full cell achieves high specific capacities of 106.06 mA h g-1and 84.98 mA h g-1at 2.55 mA cm-2and 5.10 mA cm-2,respectively,and maintains a high capacity retention of84.0% after 1000 cycles at 0.13 mA cm-2,with an average cycling CE of 99.58%.

Random forests to predict survival of octogenarians with brain metastases from nonsmall-cell lung cancer

Background: To create and validate nomograms for the personalized prediction of survival in octogenarians with newly diagnosed nonsmall-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) with sole brain metastases(BMs). Methods: Random forests(RF) were applied to identify independent prognostic factors for building nomogram models. The predictive accuracy of the model was evaluated based on the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve, C-index, and calibration plots. Results: The area under the curve(AUC) values for overall survival at 6, 12, and 18 months in the validation cohort were 0.837, 0.867, and 0.849, respectively; the AUC values for cancer-specific survival prediction were 0.819, 0.835, and 0.818, respectively. The calibration curves visualized the accuracy of the model. Conclusion: The new nomograms have good predictive power for survival among octogenarians with sole BMs related to NSCLC.
