In this paper,we demonstrate a method of designing all-dielectric metamaterial frequency selective surface(FSS)with ceramic resonators in spatial arrangement.Compared with the traditional way,spatial arrangement provides a flexible way to handle the permutation and combination of different ceramic resonators.With this method,the resonance response can be adjusted easily to achieve pass/stop band effects.As an example,a stop band spatial arrangement all-dielectric metamaterial FSS is designed.Its working band is in 11.65–12.23 GHz.By adjusting permittivity and geometrical parameters of ceramic resonators,we can easily modulate the resonances,band pass or band stop characteristic,as well as the working band.

Background and objective Low-density computed tomography(LDCT)improved early lung cancer diagnosis but introduces an excess of false-positive pulmonary nodules data.Hence,accurate diagnosis of early-stage lung cancer remains challenging.The purpose of the study was to assess the feasibility of using circulating tumour cells(CTCs)to differentiate malignant from benign pulmonary nodules.Materials and methods 122 patients with suspected malignant pulmonary nodules detected on chest CT in preparation for surgery were prospectively recruited.Peripheral blood samples were collected before surgery,and CTCs were identified upon isolation by size of epithelial tumour cells and morphological analysis.Laser capture microdissection,MALBAC amplification,and whole-exome sequencing were performed on 8 samples.The diagnostic efficacy of CTCs counting,and the genomic variation profile of benign and malignant CTCs samples were analysed.Results Using 2.5 cells/5 m L as the cut-off value,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was of 0.651(95%confidence interval:0.538-0.764),with a sensitivity and specificity of 0.526 and 0.800,respectively,and positive and negative predictive values of 91.1%and 30.3%,respectively.Distinct sequence variations differences in DNA damage repair-related and driver genes were observed in benign and malignant samples.TP53 mutations were identified in CTCs of four malignant cases;in particular,g.7578115T>C,g.7578645C>T,and g.7579472G>C were exclusively detected in all four malignant samples.Conclusion CTCs play an ancillary role in the diagnosis of pulmonary nodules.TP53 mutations in CTCs might be used to identify benign and malignant pulmonary nodules.

Novel dual-responsive superhydrophobic hybrid materials,ZnO/SAMs(self-assembled monolayers)of ionic liquids(ILs)with different counter-anions(I-,BF4-,PF6-and Tf2N-),were synthesized and characterized.ZnO nanoparticles were first deposited on glass surfaces to produce roughness.Next,SAMs of fluorinated-alkyl-3-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-4,5-dihydro-imidazoliumiodide(abb.[C8Ftespim]I)were grafted onto these surfaces via-Si-O-covalent bonds using self-assembly technique.The Iion could be subsequently exchanged with BF4-,PF6-or Tf2N-through a simple aqueous anion-exchange reaction.The ZnO/ILs hybrid layers were characterized by atomic-force microscopy(AFM),scanning-electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Their wettability was estimated through the measurements of static and dynamic contact angles(CAs).Compared to corresponding films of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]I with CAs 140.7°±2.0°,films of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]PF6 and ZnO/[C8Ftespim]Tf2N showed CAs with 154.0°±2.0°and 152.0°±2.0°,respectively that remained for a long time.This result suggests that anion-exchange can afford superhydrophobic materials.In addition,the wettability of ZnO/[C8Ftespim]X hybrid layers can be reversibly switched by altering ultraviolet(UV)irradiation and dark storage,which shows a photo-induced reversible switch of wettability.The synergistic action of ZnO nanoparticles and SAMs of ILs produced light-anion dual-responsive superhydrophobic materials with ideal stability.

Cyclic Shear Tests on Key Connection Joints of Modularized Constructions

Modularized construction is a new type of prefabricated building system with green environmental protection and excellent performance. There are few studies on the seismic performance of its key connection joint. This paper presents a new type of assembled connection joint for the high-rise modularized construction. Cyclic shear tests of full-scale joints were carried out, and the key indexes of their seismic performances including the hysteretic performance, ductility, and energy dissipation capacity were analyzed and obtained. The results show that the hysteresis loops of longitudinal and lateral cyclic shear tests were both plump in shapes. The ductility coefficients were 4.54 and 4.98, and the energy dissipation coefficients were 1.83 and 1.43, respectively. The test joint had good ductility and energy dissipation capacity. The positions of yield failure of specimens were mainly concentrated in the connection areas between the column and short beam or end-plate. The research can provide the technical reference for the seismic design and engineering application of related modularized constructions.

Frequency selective surface(FSS)has been extensively studied due to its potential applications in radomes,antenna reflectors,high-impedance surfaces and absorbers.Recently,a new principle of designing FSS has been proposed and mainly studied in two levels.In the level of materials,dielectric materials instead of metallic patterns are capable of achieving more functional performance in FSS design.Moreover,FSSs made of dielectric materials can be used in different extreme environments,depending on their electrical,thermal or mechanical properties.In the level of design principle,the theory of metamaterial can be used to design FSS in a convenient and concise way.In this review paper,we provide a brief summary about the recent progress in all-dielectric metamaterial frequency selective surface(ADM-FSS).The basic principle of designing ADM-FSS is summarized.As significant tools,Mie theory and dielectric resonator(DR)theory are given which illustrate clearly how they are used in the FSS design.Then,several design cases including dielectric particle-based ADM-FSS and dielectric network-based ADM-FSS are introduced and reviewed.After a discussion of these two types of ADM-FSSs,we reviewed the existing fabrication techniques that are used in building the experiment samples.Finally,issues and challenges regarding the rapid fabrication techniques and further development aspects are discussed.

Ultra-thin electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbers present challenging demands on EMW absorption performance.Drawing inspiration from heather leaf structures,this study introduces an innovative design strategy for EMW absorbing material,proposing biomimetic leaf SnO_(2) structures(bio-SnO_(2))on carbon fabric(CF).By employing leaf-shaped SnS2 as precursors,biomimetic leaf SnO_(2) nanostructures are constructed on CF surface after a simple thermal treatment,resulting in bio-SnO_(2)@CF composite.Experimental results indicate that bio-SnO_(2)@CF exhibits an exceptional minimum reflection loss of-54.8 dB at an incredibly thin thickness of 1.2 mm.Radar cross section(RCS)simulations further validate the outstanding EMW attenuation ability of bio-SnO_(2)@CF,attaining a maximum RCS reduction value of 16.9 dBm^(2) at an incident wave angle ofθ=0°.This novel research showcases the biomimetic structural design strategy and its remarkable function in enhancing the EMW absorbing performance at ultra-thin absorber thickness.
