Adsorption of tetrodotoxin by flexible shape-memory polymers synthesized from silica-stabilized Pickering high internal phase emulsion

Flexible shape-memory polymers were synthesized by Pickering high internal phase emulsion(HIPE)polymerization and used to adsorb and separate tetrodotoxin(TTX)from an aqueous solution.SiO_(2)nanoparticles were used to stabilize the Pickering oil-in-water(O/W)HIPEs.We introduced imidazolium-modified bromobutyl rubber(IBR)with excellent mechanical properties and high viscosity into the emulsion system as the shape-memory monomer.The properties,such as shape memory and morphology,were characterized by various methods,and batches of static adsorption experiments were conducted to analyze the adsorption performance of SiO_(2)@IBR on TTX.The characterization revealed that the SiO_(2)@IBR had a porous structure and good shape memory.Thus,the combination of SiO_(2)particles and IBR prevented shedding of SiO_(2)and enhanced the mechanical and adsorption properties of SiO_(2)@IBR.The results of the adsorption experiments indicated that the SiO_(2)@IBR had good adsorption of TTX.Both the Langmuir and Freundlich models fitted the isothermal adsorption experiment process.The TTX adsorption capacity of SiO_(2)@IBR was about 290.44 mg/g at 308 K.The fitting results of the pseudo-first-order and pseudosecond-order kinetic models showed that the adsorption process involved both chemical bonding and physical adsorption.After 10 adsorption and desorption experiments,the adsorption capacity of SiO_(2)@IBR decreased less than 0.03%,indicating that it had good adsorption and regeneration performance.

The mitochondrion which contains its own double-stranded circular DNA is a semi-independent organelle that plays critical roles in cell activity. Mitochondrial DNA （mtDNA） is maternally inherited through several mechanisms that have been proposed （Luo et al., 2013） and, if mitochondrial mutations are inherited to the offspring, it is possible to cause mitochondrial diseases such as neuropathy, cardiomyopathy, myopathy, and liver failure.

Why is oocyte aneuploidy increased with maternal aging?

One of the main causes of pregnancy failure and fetus abortion is oocyte aneuploidy,which is increased with maternal aging.Numerous possible causes of oocyte aneuploidy in aged women have been proposed,including cross-over formation defect,cohesin loss,spindle deformation,spindle assembly checkpoint malfunction,microtubule-kinetochore attachment failure,kinetochore mis-orientation,mitochondria dysfunction-induced increases in reactive oxygen species,protein over-acetylation,and DNA damage.However,it still needs to be answered if these aneuploidization factors have inherent relations,and how to prevent chromosome aneuploidy in aged oocytes.Epidemiologically,oocyte aneuploidy has been found to be weakly associated with higher homocysteine concentrations,obesity,ionizing radiation and even seasonality.In this review,we summarize the research progress and present an integrated view of oocyte aneuploidization.

A Comprehensive Review on Mechanisms and Applications of Rare-Earth Based Perovskite Nanocrystals

Rare earth(RE)ions,with abundant 4f energy level and unique electronic arrangement,are considered as substitutes for Pb^(2+)in perovskite nanocrystals(PNCs),allowing for partial or complete replacement of lead and minimizing environmental impact.This review provides a comprehensive overview of the characteristics of RE-doped PNCs,including up-conversion luminescence,down-conversion luminescence,and quantum confinement effects,etc.Additionally,RE doping has been found to effectively suppress defect formation,reduce nonradiative recombination,enhance photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY),and even allow for controlling over the morphology of the nanocrystals.The review also highlights the recent advancements in lead-free RE-based perovskites,especially in the case of Eu-based perovskites(CsEuBr_(3) and CsEuCl_(3)).Furthermore,it briefly introduces the applications of PNCs in various fields,such as perovskite solar cells(PSCs),luminescent solar concentrators(LSCs),photodetectors(PDs),and light-emitting diodes(LEDs).A systematic discussion on the luminescence mechanisms of RE-doped PNCs and lead-free RE-based perovskites is provided,along with an outlook on future research directions.The ultimate goal of this review is to provide guidance for the development of RE-based perovskite optoelectronic devices.

Low-loss and polarization insensitive 32×4 optical switch for ROADM applications

Integrated switches play a crucial role in the development of reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers(ROADMs)that have greater flexibility and compactness,ultimately leading to robust single-chip solutions.Despite decades of research on switches with various structures and platforms,achieving a balance between dense integration,low insertion loss(IL),and polarization-dependent loss(PDL)remains a significant challenge.In this paper,we propose and demonstrate a 32×4 optical switch using high-index doped silica glass(HDSG)for ROADM applications.This switch is designed to route any of the 32 inputs to the express ports or drop any channels from 32 inputs to the target 4 drop ports or add any of the 4 ports to any of the 32 express channels.The switch comprises 188 MachZehnder Interferometer(MZI)type switch elements,88 optical vias for the 44 optical bridges,and 618 waveguidewaveguide crossings with three-dimensional(3D)structures.At 1550 nm,the fiber-to-fiber loss for each express channel is below 2 dB,and across the C and L bands,below 3 dB.For each input channel to all 4 drop/add channels at 1550 nm,the loss is less than 3.5 dB and less than 5 dB across the C and L bands.The PDLs for all express and input channels to the 4 drop/add channels are below 0.3 dB over the C band,and the crosstalk is under−50 dB for both the C and L bands.

The regulation of spermatogonial proliferation and apoptosis is of great significance for maintaining spermatogenesis.The single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)analysis of the testis was performed to identify genes upregulated in spermatogonia.Using scRNAseq analysis,we identified the spermatogonia upregulated gene origin recognition complex subunit 6(Orc6),which is involved in DNA replication and cell cycle regulation;its protein expression in the human and mouse testis was detected by western blot and immunofluorescence.To explore the potential function of Orc6 in spermatogonia,the C18-4 cell line was transfected with control or Orc6 siRNA.Subsequently,5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine(EdU)and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL)assays,flow cytometry,and western blot were used to evaluate its effects on proliferation and apoptosis.It was revealed that ORC6 could promote proliferation and inhibit apoptosis of C18-4 cells.Bulk RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis indicated that Orc6 was involved in the activation of wingless/integrated(Wnt)/β-catenin signaling.Western blot revealed that the expression ofβ-catenin protein and its phosphorylation(Ser675)were significantly decreased when silencing the expression of ORC6.our findings indicated that Orc6 was upregulated in spermatogonia,whereby it regulated proliferation and apoptosis by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling.

BACKGRouND The lack of specific predictors for type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)severely impacts early intervention/prevention efforts.Elevated branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs:Isoleucine,leucine,valine)and aromatic amino acids(AAAs:Tyrosine,tryptophan,phenylalanine)show high sensitivity and specificity in predicting diabetes in animals and predict T2DM 10-19 years before T2DM onset in clinical studies.However,improvement is needed to support its clinical utility.AIM To evaluate the effects of body mass index(BMI)and sex on BCAAs/AAAs in new-onset T2DM individuals with varying body weight.METHODS Ninety-seven new-onset T2DM patients(ously elevated amino acids,especially BCAAs/AAAs,across new-onset T2DM patients in differing BMI categories revealed a potentially skewed prediction of T2DM development.The higher BCAA/AAA levels in obese T2DM patients would support T2DM prediction in obese individuals,whereas the lower levels of BCAAs/AAAs in NW-T2DM individuals may underestimate T2DM risk in NW individuals.This potentially skewed T2DM prediction should be considered when BCAAs/AAAs are to be used as the T2DM predictor.

针对传统磁悬浮开关磁阻电机的输出转矩小及转矩与悬浮的耦合问题,提出一种四相16/14/8极混合励磁双定子磁悬浮开关磁阻电机。介绍了该电机的拓扑结构、转矩原理与悬浮原理,并优化了转矩绕组的励磁方式,运用有限元法比较分析了该电机与同参数不加永磁体电机的电磁特性,包括电机的转矩特性以及解耦特性,仿真结果验证了该电机自解耦结构的合理性及能有效提高输出转矩。在麦克斯韦应力法基础上,根据电机工作时的磁通分布建立了等效磁路图,采用分段函数拟合铁芯磁化曲线,推导出了考虑磁饱和的转矩数学模型,有限元仿真分析验证了转矩模型与仿真结果较吻合,最小相差约1.4%,最大相差约26%。

在可逆信息隐藏领域,选择较小的预测误差有助于减少信息嵌入过程引起的失真.现有选择方法主要计算预测误差的局部复杂度,将信息嵌入到局部复杂度小的预测误差中.这些局部复杂度计算方法只使用部分相邻像素计算局部复杂度,且计算方法与预测部分使用的预测器无关,因此其选择性能有待提高.本文提出了一种基于CNN的局部复杂度计算方法LCCN,该方法与预测部分的预测器相关,可以使用更多的相邻像素计算局部复杂度,提高局部复杂度与预测误差的相似性.与现有的局部复杂度计算方法相比,所提LCCN利用了CNN的多感受野特性和深度学习的全局优化能力,能使用更多相邻像素计算局部复杂度,从而选择更多数值较小的预测误差,提高嵌入算法性能.此外,我们还提出了一种适用于LCCN的两阶段RDH方案,该方案可以将LCCN应用于多种嵌入方法.实验结果表明,与现有的几种局部复杂度计算方法相比,本文所提方法在标准测试图像和Kodak数据集上嵌入性能更好,在基于LPVO的嵌入技术中,本文所提LCCN模型嵌入10000bits后图像Lena的PSNR为62.09dB,分别高于LV、FV、EE和LAE算法1.05dB、1.02dB、0.78dB和0.90dB.与现有的先进RDH算法比较,本文所提LCCN模型在不同图像上均取得较好效果.

目的探讨胞外酸化对巨噬细胞脂噬的影响及其作用机制。方法采用RAW264.7巨噬细胞,以pH 6.5培养液与25 mg/L氧化低密度脂蛋白(ox-LDL)共孵育24 h构建胞外酸化诱导的泡沫细胞模型。分别以ASIC1特异性阻断剂PcTx-1和RIP1抑制剂Nec-1干预胞外酸化诱导的RAW264.7巨噬细胞24 h,油红O染色检测细胞内脂质蓄积;蛋白质印迹(Western blot)检测总ASIC1、膜ASIC1、p-RIP1 Ser166、p-TFEB Ser142、LC3和p62蛋白的表达;激光共聚焦显微镜观察脂滴(Bodipy示踪)与自噬标志物LC3II和LAMP1共定位;透射电镜观察细胞内脂滴和脂噬泡的数量变化;胆固醇荧光试剂盒检测ABCA1介导的胆固醇流出。结果与pH 7.4组相比较,pH 6.5胞外酸化组胞内的脂质蓄积和细胞质膜上的ASIC1蛋白表达显著增加,p-RIP1Ser166、p-TFEB Ser142水平升高,LC3II蛋白减少和p62蛋白增加,脂滴与LC3II和LAMP1的共定位都分别减少,细胞内的脂滴数量显著增加,自噬体和脂噬泡的数量则明显减少,ABCA1介导的巨噬细胞内胆固醇流出显著减少。然而,胞外酸化对RAW264.7巨噬细胞的上述效应能被ASIC1特异性阻断剂PcTx-1和RIP1抑制剂Nec-1所取消。结论胞外酸化经激活ASIC1/RIP1途径促进TFEB磷酸化抑制巨噬细胞脂噬,ASIC1可能是防治动脉粥样硬化等脂质蓄积疾病的新靶点。
