In order to elucidate the genetic diversity and taxonomic status of Siberian roe deer(Capreolus pygargus)from the Korean peninsula,partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene were *** collected 57 roe deer samples from Mainland and Jeju Island between July 2004 and June 2009.A total of 50 sequences(1,070 bp)were obtained,and seven haplotypes were *** haplotypes were found from Mainland,and two were discovered from Jeju *** genetic diversity was lower in the Jeju Island population than in the Mainland *** addition,both the consensus neighbor-joining tree and maximum parsimony tree showed an identical topology between the Mainland and Jeju Island *** on the results,two subspecies of the Korean roe deer were *** roe deer in Jeju Island showed a distinct difference in the cytochrome b gene compared with other Siberian roe deer,being aunique native species inhabiting only Jeju Island in *** Siberian roe deer in Jeju Island can be classified at subspecies level,the new subspecies in Jeju was named Capreolus pygargus jejuensis in this *** this new subspecies,reasonable conservation and management effort is needed in the future.

In this study, we consider a single-link flexible manipulator in the presence of an unknown Bouc-Wen type of hysteresis and intermittent actuator faults. First, an inverse hysteresis dynamics model is introduced, and then the control input is divided into an expected input and an error compensator. Second,a novel adaptive neural network-based control scheme is proposed to cancel the unknown input hysteresis. Subsequently,by modifying the adaptive laws and local control laws, a fault-tolerant control strategy is applied to address uncertain intermittent actuator faults in a flexible manipulator system. Through the direct Lyapunov theory, the proposed scheme allows the state errors to asymptotically converge to a specified interval. Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified through numerical simulations and experiments.

In this study,functional near-infrared spectroscopy(fNIRS)is utilized to measure the hemodynamic responses(HRs)in the visual cortex of 14 subjects(aged 22–34 years)viewing the primary red,green,and blue(RGB)colors displayed on a white screen by a beam *** spatiotemporal characteristics of their oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobins(HbO and HbR)in the visual cortex are measured using a 15-source and 15-detector optode con¯*** see whether the activation maps upon RGB-color stimuli can be distinguished or not,the t-values of individual channels are averaged over 14 ***¯nd the best combination of two features for classi¯cation,the HRs of activated channels are averaged over nine *** HbO mean,peak,slope,skewness and kurtosis values during 2–7 s window for a given 10 s stimulation period are ***,the linear discriminant analysis(LDA)for classifying three classes is ***,the best classi¯cation accuracy obtained with slope-skewness features was 74.07%(Subject 1),whereas the best overall over 14 subjects was 55.29%with peak-skewness *** that the chance level of 3-class classi¯cation is 33.33%,it can be said that RGB colors can be *** overall results reveal that fNIRS can be used for monitoring purposes of the HR patterns in the human visual cortex.

A Power-Aware Branch Predictor by Accessing the BTB Selectively

Microarchitects should consider power consumption, together with accuracy, when designing a branch predictor, especially in embedded processors. This paper proposes a power-aware branch predictor, which is based on the gshare predictor, by accessing the BTB （Branch Target Buffer） selectively. To enable the selective access to the BTB, the PHT （Pattern History Table） in the proposed branch predictor is accessed one cycle earlier than the traditional PHT if the program is executed sequentially without branch instructions. As a side effect, two predictions from the PHT are obtained through one access to the PHT, resulting in more power savings. In the proposed branch predictor, if the previous instruction was not a branch and the prediction from the PHT is untaken, the BTB is not accessed to reduce power consumption. If the previous instruction was a branch, the BTB is always accessed, regardless of the prediction from the PHT, to prevent the additional delay/accuracy decrease. The proposed branch predictor reduces the power consumption with little hardware overhead, not incurring additional delay and never harming prediction accuracy. The simulation results show that the proposed branch predictor reduces the power consumption by 29-47%.

This paper addresses the control law design for synchronization of two different chaotic oscillators with mutually Lipschitz nonlinearities. For analysis of the properties of two different nonlinearities, an advanced mutually Lipschitz condition is proposed. This mutually Lipschitz condition is more general than the traditional Lipschitz condition. Unlike the latter, it can be used for the design of a feedback controller for synchronization of chaotic oscillators of different dynamics. It is shown that any two different Lipschitz nonlinearities always satisfy the mutually Lipschitz condition. Applying the mutually Lipschitz condition, a quadratic Lyapunov function and uniformly ultimately bounded stability, easily designable and implementable robust control strategies utilizing algebraic Riccati equation and linear matrix inequalities, are derived for synchronization of two distinct chaotic oscillators. Furthermore, a novel adaptive control scheme for mutually Lipschitz chaotic systems is established by addressing the issue of adaptive cancellation of unknown mismatch between the dynamics of different chaotic systems. The proposed control technique is numerically tested for synchronization of two different chaotic Chua＇s circuits and for obtaining identical behavior between the modified Chua＇s circuit and the R6ssler system.

This study is to examine the possibility of a brain-scientific approach of the fashion-store visual merchandising display（VMD）.In marketing area,VMD has become a research topic of ***,a few VMD research has been done by using human brain *** this work,the hemodynamic responses（HRs） in the prefrontal cortex（PFC） using functional near-infrared spectroscopy were measured from 12 participants while exposing them to four categories（menswear,womenswear,underwear,and sportswear stores with positive and negative picture displays）.As features for classifying the HRs,the lvalue,the peak value of the averaged trial were *** results compare all the HbO responses of positive/negative displays of four *** results showed that the HRs of four categories were *** is concluded that,among four categories,the importance of positive display in VMD is the order of sportswear,menswear,womenswear,and *** finding suggests that the brain signal reaction is involved during the evaluation of VMD that can be related to the judgment of attraction or *** the development of VMD,the brain-scientific approach can be utilized in fashion marketing.

Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a precursor to Alzheimer’s *** is imperative to develop a proper treatment for this neurological disease in the aging *** observational study investigated the effects of acupuncture therapy on MCI *** healthy individuals and eleven MCI patients were recruited for this ***-and deoxy-hemoglobin signals in the prefrontal cortex during working-memory tasks were monitored using functional near-infrared *** acupuncture treatment,working-memory experiments were conducted for healthy control(HC)and MCI groups(MCI-0),followed by 24 sessions of acupuncture for the MCI *** acupuncture sessions were initially carried out for 6 weeks(two sessions per week),after which experiments were performed again on the MCI group(MCI-1).This was followed by another set of acupuncture sessions that also lasted for 6 weeks,after which the experiments were repeated on the MCI group(MCI-2).Statistical analyses of the signals and classifications based on activation maps as well as temporal features were *** highest classification accuracies obtained using binary connectivity maps were 85.7%HC ***-0,69.5%HC ***-1,and 61.69%HC *** classification accuracies using the temporal features mean from 5 seconds to 28 seconds and maximum(i.e,max(5:28 seconds))values were 60.6%HC ***-0,56.9%HC ***-1,and 56.4%HC *** results reveal that there was a change in the temporal characteristics of the hemodynamic response of MCI patients due to *** was reflected by a reduction in the classification accuracy after the therapy,indicating that the patients’brain responses improved and became comparable to those of healthy subjects.A similar trend was reflected in the classification using the image *** results indicate that acupuncture can be used for the treatment of MCI patients.
