Recent experiments have pointed out that cellular uptake is strongly dependent on the physical dimensions of endocytosed nanoparticles and tile optimal radius of endocytosed virus-like particle coated by transferrin is around 50 nm. As the same time, the dimensions of receptor-ligand complex have strong effects on the size-dependent exclusion of proteins ill cell environments. Inspired by these experimental results, a continuum elastic model is constructed to resolve the relationship between the dinlensions of receptor-ligand complex and the optimal radius of endocytosed virus-like particle. These results demonstrate that the optimal radius of endocytosed virus-like particle depends on the dimensions of reeeptor-ligand complex and the dimension of receptor-ligand complex reduces the depletion zone.

Effect of trace boron on corrosion resistance of rust layer of high-strength low-alloy steel in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution

The influence mechanism of trace boron on the corrosion resistance of high-strength low-alloy(HSLA)steel in a simulated marine environment was studied by combining first-principles calculation with *** effect of boron on the corrosion properties and corrosion morphology of the rust layer formed on the surface of HSLA steel was studied by means of corrosion weightlessness method,polarization curve,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)*** mass loss measurements and polarization curves revealed that the corrosion resistance of HSLA steel is improved by adding trace *** and SEM results show that the rust layer is produced byα-FeOOH(the main protective phase),Fe_(3)O_(4) andγ-FeOOH,and boron contributes to stability ofα-*** on the first-principles calculation,the solid solution of B atom in the corrosion product is beneficial to the fixation of Cl atom and to the reduction of the corrosion of Cl atom to the steel matrix.

Objective Current clinical evidence on the effects of home blood pressure telemonitoring(HBPT)on improving blood pressure control comes entirely from developed ***,we performed this randomized controlled trial to evaluate whether HBPT plus support(patient education and clinician remote hypertension management)improves blood pressure control more than usual care(UC)in the Chinese *** This single-center,randomized controlled study was conducted in Beijing,*** aged 30-75 years were eligible for enrolment if they had blood pressure[systolic(SBP)≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic(DBP)≥90 mmHg;or SBP≥130 mmHg and/or DBP≥80 mmHg with diabetes].We recruited 190 patients randomized to either the HBPT or the UC groups for 12 *** primary endpoints were blood pressure reduction and the proportion of patients achieving the target blood *** Totally,172 patients completed the study,the HBPT plus support group(n=84),and the UC group(n=88).Patients in the plus support group showed a greater reduction in mean ambulatory blood pressure than those in the UC *** plus support group had a significantly higher proportion of patients who achieved the target blood pressure and maintained a dipper blood pressure pattern at the12th week of ***,the patients in the plus support group showed lower blood pressure variability and higher drug adherence than those in the UC *** HBPT plus additional support results in greater blood pressure reduction,better blood pressure control,a higher proportion of dipper blood pressure patterns,lower blood pressure variability,and higher drug adherence than *** development of telemedicine may be the cornerstone of hypertension management in primary care.

Objective:The aim of the present study was to investigate the mechanisms responsible for the radiation-sensitizing effect of antennapedia proteins,ANTP-SMACN7,on lung cancer cells treated with accelerated carbon and Fe particle ***:The ANTP-SMACN7 fusion peptide was synthesized and linked to fluorescein isothiocyanate to determine its ability to penetrate cells.A549 and NCI-H460 cells,human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cell lines,were irradiated with X-ray or high linear energy transfer(LET)irradiation with or without ANTP-SMACN7 *** survival,apoptosis,and protein expression were studied by colony formation assays,flow cytometry,and western blot analyses,***:ANTP-SMACN7 fusion proteins entered the cells and promoted A549 and NCI-H460 cell high LET irradiation *** LET irradiation was more efficient for clonogenic cell killing and the induction of apoptosis(P<0.05).Treatment with ANTP-SMACN7 significantly reduced the A549 and NCI-H460 cell clone-forming percentages and increased apoptosis through inhibition of the X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein and the activation of caspase-3 and ***:Regarding pharmaceutical radiosensitization,these findings provided a way to improve high-LET clinical radiotherapy for NSCLC patients.

The rolling mill vibration is characterized by the coupling effects among mechanical,electrical,hydraulic and interfacial *** influence of the mill modulus control gain in automatic gauge control on the vibration in hot rolling mills was ***,an experiment related to the mill modulus control gain was carried out in the hot rolling mill process,and it was found that the rolling mill vibration increases with the mill modulus control ***,based on the Sims rolling force method,the coupling dynamic model was established to explain this ***,the influence of mill modulus control gain on the vibration was analyzed numerically on the basis of the coupling dynamic ***,the agreement between the experimental results and the simulation results was confirmed and the measure reducing the mill modulus control gain was obtained to relieve mill vibration.

Antiviral therapy delays esophageal variceal bleeding in hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis

AIM:To investigate the effect of antiviral therapy with nucleoside analogs in hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related cirrhosis and esophageal ***:Eligible patients with HBV-related cirrhosis and esophageal varices who consulted two tertiary hospitals in Beijing,China,the Chinese Second Artillery General Hospital and Chinese PLA General Hospital,were enrolled in the study from January 2005 to December 2009. Of 117 patients,79 received treatment with different nucleoside analogs and 38 served as controls. Bleeding rate,change in variceal grade and non-bleeding duration were analyzed. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression was used to identify factors related to esophageal variceal *** group compared to the control group(29.1%vs 65.8%,P < 0.001). Antiviral therapy was an independent factor related to esophageal bleeding in multivariate analysis(HR = 11.3,P < 0.001). The mean increase in variceal grade per year was lower in the antiviral group(1.0 ± 1.3 vs 1.7 ± 1.2,P = 0.003). Nonbleeding duration in the antiviral group was prolonged in the Kaplan-Meier model. Viral load rebound was observed in 3 cases in the lamivudine group and in 1 case in the adefovir group,all of whom experienced bleeding. Entecavir and adefovir resulted in lower bleeding rates(17.2% and 28.6%,respectively) than the control(P < 0.001 and P = 0.006,respectively),whereas lamivudine(53.3%) did not(P = 0.531).CONCLUSION:Antiviral therapy delays the progression of esophageal varices and reduces bleeding risk in HBV-related cirrhosis,however,high-resistance agents tend to be ineffective for long-term treatment.
