Oxidative stress has been associated with a number of physiological problems in swine,including reduced production ***,although there has been increased research into regulatory mechanisms and antioxidant strategies in relation to oxidative stress-induced pig production,it remains so far largely unsuccessful to develop accurate models and nutritional strategies for specific oxidative stress ***,we discuss the dose and dose intensity of the causes of oxidative stress involving physiological,environmental and dietary factors,recent research models and the antioxidant strategies to provide theoretical guidance for future oxidative stress research in swine.

Maternal resveratrol improves the intestinal health and weight gain of suckling piglets during high summer temperatures: The involvement of exosome-derived microRNAs and immunoglobin in colostrum

Previous studies have shown that maternal resveratrol improved growth performance and altered the microbial composition of suckling piglets under hot summer conditions. However, it remains unclear how maternal resveratrol improves growth performance of suckling piglets during high summer temperatures. A total of 20 sows(Landrace × Large White; three parity) were randomly assigned to 2 groups(with or without 300 mg/kg resveratrol) from d 75 of gestation to d 21 of lactation during high ambient temperatures(from 27 to 30℃). The results showed that maternal resveratrol supplementation increased total daily weight gain of piglets under hot summer conditions, which is consistent with previous studies. Furthermore, we found that maternal resveratrol improved the intestinal morphology and intestinal epithelial proliferation in suckling piglets. Dietary resveratrol supplementation affected the characteristics of exosome-derived microRNAs(miRNAs) in sow colostrum, as well as the genes targeted by differentially produced miRNAs. MiRNAs are concentrated in the tight junction pathway. As a result, the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins was increased in suckling piglets(P < 0.05).Notably, maternal resveratrol increased the intestinal secretory immunoglobulin A(sIgA) levels of suckling piglets via colostrum immunoglobin(P < 0.05), which could increase the abundance of beneficial microbiota to further increase the concentration of short chain fatty acids(SCFA) in suckling piglets' intestine(P < 0.05). Finally, our correlation analysis further demonstrated the positive associations between significantly differential intestinal microbiota, intestinal sIgA production and SCFA concentrations,as well as the positive relation between total daily weight gain and intestinal health of suckling *** together, our findings suggested that maternal resveratrol could promote intestinal health to improve piglet growth during high summer temperatures, which might be associa

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg–Zn–Y alloys with different Zn/Y atomic ratios with or without artificial cooling (AC) extrusion were systematically investigated in this work. The results show that bimodal microstructure consisting of submicron dynamic recrystallized (DRXed) grains with high fraction of low-angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) and elongated unDRXed grains was formed in Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)Y_(0.3) alloy with AC extrusion. The AC process effectively limits the growth of precipitated phases, and large amount of nanoscale precipitates were dynamically precipitated during the extrusion process. AC extrusion could effectually refine the lamellar 14H LPSO phases and inhibit the transition from stacking faults to LSPO phases in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy and the narrow LPSO phase in Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1)-AC alloy which could promote the nucleation of DRXed grains. The AC extrusion significantly improves the strength of Mg–Zn–Y alloys. Owing to AC extrusion, the strength improvement of Mg_(98.7)Zn_(1)Y_(0.3) alloy is mainly attributed to fine grain strengthening, dislocation strengthening, and nano-phases precipitation strengthening. After AC process, more fine grains and nano-phases jointly strengthen the Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy. The Mg_(98)Zn_(1)Y_(1) alloy obtains optimal mechanical properties after extrusion at 623 K, with ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 406 MPa, yield strength (YS) of 388 MPa, and elongation (EL) of 5.6%.

With the advantage of fast charge transfer,heterojunction engineering is identified as a viable method to reinforce the anodes'sodium storage ***,vacancies can effectively strengthen the Na+adsorption ability and provide extra active sites for Na+***,their synchronous engineering is rarely ***,a hybrid of Co_(0.85)Se/WSe_(2) heterostructure with Se vacancies and N-doped carbon polyhedron(CoWSe/NCP)has been fabricated for the first time via a hydrothermal and subsequent selenization *** aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy confirms the phase interface of the Co_(0.85)Se/WSe_(2) heterostructure and the existence of Se *** functional theory simulations reveal the accelerated charge transfer and enhanced Na+adsorption ability,which are contributed by the Co_(0.85)Se/WSe_(2) heterostructure and Se vacancies,*** expected,the CoWSe/NCP anode in sodium-ion battery achieves outstanding rate capability(339.6 mAh g^(−1) at 20 A g^(−1)),outperforming almost all Co/W-based selenides.

Lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)have emerged as a powerful platform for RNA delivery;the chemical engineering of LNP for efficient delivery of RNA into cytosol remains critical but *** promising strategy is the use of permanently positively charged lipids,which have been shown to enhance the stability and delivery efficiency of ***,the resulting strong electrostatic interactions reduced the RNA release capacity from the ***,we engineered a hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))-triggered charge-altering LNP(CALNP)for efficient small interfering RNA(siRNA)delivery and tumor therapy in *** incorporation of phenylboronic acid(PBA)into ionizable lipids generated permanently positively charged lipids.A CALNP with optimal lipid formulations was identified,exhibiting enhanced transfection efficiency with effective lysosomal escape through dual effects of electrostatic interaction and ligand-receptor binding.H_(2)O_(2)-triggered removal of PBA groups regenerated ionizable LNP with reduced positive charges at physiological pH,allowing cell-selective siRNA release in the *** results demonstrated that CALNPs exhibited improved siRNA transfection and gene silencing *** also showed potent CALNP activity against the polo-like kinase 1(Plk1)gene by effectively silencing Plk1 mRNA and subsequent suppression of tumor ***,these findings highlighted the potential of CALNP as an efficient platform for RNA delivery and tumor therapeutics.
