Rare pattern of Maisonneuve fracture:A case report

BACKGROUND Maisonneuve fracture is a special type of ankle fracture that consists of proximal fibular fracture,a lesion of the inferior tibiofibular syndesmotic complex(interosseous ligament,anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament and posterior inferior tibiofibular ligament),and injury of the medial structure of the ankle(deltoid ligament tear or medial malleolar fracture).The accepted mechanism of Maisonneuve fracture is pronation external rotation according to the Lauge-Hansen *** this paper,we report a rare pattern of Maisonneuve fracture,which has the characteristics of both pronation external rotation ankle fracture and supination adduction ankle *** SUMMARY A 31-year-old female patient accidentally sprained her right ankle while walking 5 d before hospitalization in our *** patient was initially missed in other hospitals and later rediagnosed in our outpatient ***-length radiographs of the lower leg revealed proximal fibula fracture,inferior tibiofibular joint separation,and medial malleolar fracture involving the posterior malleolus,which was also revealed on computed tomography *** resonance imaging revealed rupture of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament and anterior talofibular *** diagnosed a rare pattern of Maisonneuve fracture with proximal fibular fracture,inferior tibiofibular joint separation,medial malleolar fracture and ruptures of the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament and anterior talofibular *** patient underwent open reduction and internal fixation in our hospital.A 6-mo postoperative follow-up confirmed a good clinical *** To our knowledge,this rare pattern of Maisonneuve fracture has not been previously *** possible mechanism of injury is supination adduction combined with pronation external *** analysis of the injury mechanism of Maisonneuve fracture is of great clinical significance and can better guide clinical treatm

Optimizing the key parameter to accelerate the recovery of AMOC under a rapid increase of greenhouse gas forcing

Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation(AMOC)plays a central role in long-term climate variations through its heat and freshwater transports,which can collapse under a rapid increase of greenhouse gas forcing in climate *** studies have suggested that the deviation of model parameters is one of the major factors in inducing inaccurate AMOC *** this work,with a low-resolution earth system model,the authors try to explore whether a reasonable adjustment of the key model parameter can help to re-establish the AMOC after its *** a new optimization strategy,the extra freshwater flux(FWF)parameter is determined to be the dominant one affecting the AMOC’s *** traditional ensemble optimal interpolation(EnOI)data assimilation and new machine learning methods are adopted to optimize the FWF parameter in an abrupt 4×CO_(2) forcing experiment to improve the adaptability of model parameters and accelerate the recovery of *** results show that,under an abrupt 4×CO_(2) forcing in millennial simulations,the AMOC will first collapse and then re-establish by the default FWF parameter ***,during the parameter adjustment process,the saltier and colder sea water over the North Atlantic region are the dominant factors in usefully improving the adaptability of the FWF parameter and accelerating the recovery of AMOC,according to their physical relationship with FWF on the interdecadal timescale.

Uniqueness Problem for Meromorphic Mappings in Several Complex Variables with Few Hyperplanes

The purpose of this article is to deal with uniqueness problem with truncated multiplicities for meromorphic mappings in several complex variables. We obtain a degeneracy theorem of meromorphic mappings without taking account of multiplicities of order 〉 k in counting functions and a uniqueness theorem for meromorphic mappings sharing 2n ＋ 2（n ≥ 2） hyperplanes in general position, which improve and extend some earlier work.

The solubility of gypsum(CaSO·2HO) in ammonium solutions plays a significant role to prevent gypsum from scaling on the heater and tower in the treatment of ammonium-N wastewater bearing sulfate ion by steam stripping *** this work the solubility of CaSO·2HO in the solution of NHCl and the mixed solution of NHC1-(NH)SO was investigated using dissolution method over a temperature range from 298.15 to 343.15 *** results show that in the two solutions the solubility of CaSO·2HO increases with increasing NHC1 concentration but the temperature has little *** addition,a mixed electrolyte NRTL model was employed to calculate the solubility of CaSO·2HO in different concentrations of NHC1 at various *** model parameters for electrolyte NRTL model were obtained via the regression of experimental *** results show the calculated solubility is in good agreement with experimental values with the relative average deviation of 3%.

In vitro fluorescence displacement investigation of thyroxine transport disruption by bisphenol A

Bisphenol A （BPA） is a chemical with high production volume and wide applications in many industries. Although BPA is known as an endocrine disruptor, its toxic mechanisms have not been fully characterized. Due to its structural similarity to thyroid hormones thyroxine （T4） and triiodothyronine （T3）, one possible mechanism of BPA toxicity is disruption of hormone transport by competitive binding with the transport proteins. In this study, the binding interactions of BPA, T4, and T3 with three thyroid hormone transport proteins, human serum albumin （HSA）, transthyretin （TTR）, and thyroxine-binding globulin （TBG） were investigated by fluorescence measurement. Using two site-specific fluorescence probes dansylamide and dansyl-L-proline, the binding constants of BPA with HSA at drug site I and site II were determined as 2.90 × 10^4 and 3.14 × 10^4 L/mol, respectively. By monitoring the intrinsic fluorescence of tryptophan, a binding constant of 4.70 ×10^3 L/mol was obtained. Similarly, by employing 8-anilino-l-naphthalenesulfonic acid as fluorescence probe, the binding affinity of BPA with TTR and TBG was measured to be 3.10 × 10^5 and 5.90× 10^5 L/mol, respectively. In general, BPA showed lower binding affinity with the proteins than T3 did, and even lower affinity than T4. Using these binding constants, the amount of BPA which would bind to the transport proteins in human plasma was estimated. These results suggest that the concentrations of BPA commonly found in human plasma are probably not high enough to interfere with T4 transport.

Unraveling post-growth mechanisms of monolayer CsPbBr3 nanocubes:Laser-enhanced transformations and cathodoluminescence-electron microscopy correlations

Lead-halide perovskite nanoparticles（LHP NPs） are highly promising materials for next-generation displays and solid-state lighting due to their exceptional optical properties. However, their inherent instability presents a significant challenge. Recent advances have demonstrated that optoelectronic devices based on monolayer nanoparticle films exhibit both high luminescence efficiency and long-term *** research demonstrates that mobility limitations and anisotropic alignments in CsPbBr3nanocube monolayer films are key to their stabilization, hindering spontaneous growth through face-to-face fusion and resulting in the formation of connecting necks in a diagonal direction. Introducing laser irradiation confirmed this by significantly accelerating nanocubes growth, increasing mobility, and enhancing local structural ordering, leading to larger and more regularly shaped nanosheets. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy line-scan analyses indicated that laser irradiation did not disrupt the ligand structure. Transmission electron microscopy and correlative cathodoluminescence electron microscopy revealed the effects of post-growth and heterogeneous structures, including enhanced luminescence and inhomogeneous intensity in the nanosheets. These findings deepen the understanding of the post-growth mechanism of monolayer nanoparticles and the structure-emission correlation and highlight the unique role of laser irradiation in directing the formation of well-defined and regular nanostructures.

Semi-Fredholm Spectrum and Weyl＇s Theorem for Operator Matrices

When A ∈ B（H） and B ∈ B（K） are given, we denote by Mc an operator acting on the Hilbert space HΘ K of the form Me = （ A0 CB）. In this paper, first we give the necessary and sufficient condition for Mc to be an upper semi-Fredholm （lower semi-Fredholm, or Fredholm） operator for some C ∈B（K,H）. In addition, let σSF＋（A） = {λ ∈ C ： A-λI is not an upper semi-Fredholm operator} bc the upper semi-Fredholm spectrum of A ∈ B（H） and let σrsF- （A） = {λ∈ C ： A-λI is not a lower semi-Fredholm operator} be the lower semi Fredholm spectrum of A. We show that the passage from σSF±（A） U σSF±（B） to σSF±（Mc） is accomplished by removing certain open subsets of σSF-（A） ∩σSF＋（B） from the former, that is, there is an equality σSF±（A） ∪σSF± （B） = σSF± （Mc） ∪＆ where L is the union of certain of the holes in σSF±（Mc） which ilappen to be subsets of σSF- （A） A σSF＋（B）. Weyl＇s theorem and Browder＇s theorem are liable to fail for 2 × 2 operator matrices. In this paper, we also explore how Weyl＇s theorem, Browder＇s theorem, a-Weyl＇s theorem and a-Browder＇s theorem survive for 2 × 2 upper triangular operator matrices on the Hilbert space.

Acute central nervous system injuries,including ischemic stro ke,intracerebral hemorrhage,subarachnoid hemorrhage,traumatic brain injury,and spinal co rd injury,are a major global health *** optimal therapies and improving the long-term neurological functions of patients with acute central nervous system injuries are urgent *** are susceptible to damage after acute central nervous system injury,and this leads to the release of toxic levels of reactive oxygen species,which induce cell ***,a selective form of autophagy,is crucial in eliminating redundant or damaged mitochondria during these *** evidence has highlighted the significant role of mitophagy in acute central nervous system *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of the process,classification,and related mechanisms of *** also highlight the recent developments in research into the role of mitophagy in various acute central nervous system injuries and drug therapies that regulate *** the final section of this review,we emphasize the potential for treating these disorders by focusing on mitophagy and suggest future research paths in this area.

Catalytic aquathermolysis of Shengli heavy crude oil with an amphiphilic cobalt catalyst

An interfacially active cobalt complex,cobalt dodecylbenzenesulfonate,was *** analysis,atomic absorption spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）,thermogravimetric analysis,and surface/interfacial tension determination were performed to investigate the properties of the *** showed that the synthesized catalyst showed active interfacial behavior,decreasing the surface tension and interfacial tension between heavy oil and liquid phase to below 30 and 1.5 mN/m,*** catalyst was not thermally degraded at a temperature of 400 ℃,indicating its high thermal *** performance of the catalyst was evaluated by carrying out *** viscosity determination showed that the viscosity of the heavy oil decreased by 38%.The average molecular weight,group compositions,and average molecular structure of various samples were analyzed using elemental analysis,FT-IR,electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance（ESI FT-ICR MS）,and ～1H nuclear magnetic *** indicated that the catalyst could attack the sulfur- and O_2-type heteroatomic compounds in asphaltene and resin,especially the compounds with aromatic structure,leading to a decrease in the molecular weight and then the reduction in the viscosity of heavy ***,the synthesized catalyst might find an application in catalytic aquathermolysis of heavy oil,especially for the high-aromaticity heavy oil with high oxygen content.
