BACKGROUND The FreeStyle Libre flash glucose monitoring(FGM)system entered the Chinese market in 2017 to complement the self-monitoring of blood *** to its increased usage in clinics,the number of studies investigating its accuracy has ***,its accuracy has not been investigated in highland populations in *** To evaluate measurements recorded using the FreeStyle Libre FGM system compared with capillary blood glucose measured using the enzyme electrode method in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2D)who had migrated within 3 mo from highlands to *** Overall,68 patients with T2D,selected from those who had recently migrated from highlands to plains(within 3 mo),were hospitalized at the Department of Endocrinology from August to October 2017 and underwent continuous glucose monitoring(CGM)with the FreeStyle Libre FGM system for 14 *** the study period,fingertip capillary blood glucose was measured daily using the enzyme electrode method(Super GL,China),and blood glucose levels were read from the scanning probe during fasting and 2 h after all three ***,the time interval between reading the data from the scanning probe and collecting fingertip capillary blood was controlled to<5 *** accuracy of the FGM system was evaluated according to the CGM ***,the factors influencing the mean absolute relative difference(MARD)of this system were analyzed by a multiple linear regression *** Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that the fingertip and scanned glucose levels were positively correlated(R=0.86,P=0.00).The aggregated MARD of scanned glucose was 14.28±13.40%.Parker's error analysis showed that 99.30%of the data pairs were located in areas A and *** to the probe wear time of the FreeStyle Libre FGM system,MARD_(1 d) and MARD_(2-14 d) were 16.55%and 14.35%,respectively(t=1.23,P=0.22).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that MARD did not correlate with blood glucose when

BACKGROUND A few reports have revealed induction of rhabdomyolysis by a red yeast rice(RYR)supplement or by RYR in combination with abiraterone(an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor).CASE SUMMARY A 76-year-old man presented with progressive limb weakness,muscle soreness,and acute kidney injury(AKI).He had been taking the anti-prostate cancer drug abiraterone for 14 mo and had added a RYR supplement 3 mo before symptom *** being diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis-induced AKI,the patient discontinued these drugs and responded well to hemodialysis and *** 23 d of treatment,creatine kinase levels returned to normal and serum creatinine levels *** We speculate that statins,the main lipid-lowering component of RYR,or a combination of statins and abiraterone,will increase the risk of rhabdomyolysis.

Understanding the Thermal Impedance of Silicone Rubber/Hexagonal Boron Nitride Composites as Thermal Interface Materials

Silicone rubber(SR) composites are most widely used as thermal interface materials(TIMs) for electronics heat dissipation. Thermal impedance as the main bottleneck limiting the performance of TIMs is usually neglected. Herein, the thermal impedance of SR composites loaded with different levels of hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) as TIMs was elaborated for the first time by the ASTM D 5470 standard test and finite element analysis. It was found that elastic modulus and surface roughness of SR composites increased with the increase of h-BN content, indicating that the conformity was reduced. When the assembly pressure was 0.69 MPa, there existed an optimal h-BN content at which the contact resistance was minimum(0.39 K·cm^(2)·W^(-1)). Although the decreased bond line thickness(BLT) by increasing the assembly pressure was beneficial to reduce the thermal impedance, the proper assembly pressure should be selected to prevent the warpage of the contact surfaces and the increase in contact resistance, according to the compression properties of the SR composites. This study provides valuable insights into fabrication of high-performance TIMs for modern electronic device applications.

Neurotoxicity of prenatal alcohol exposure on medullary pre-B?tzinger complex neurons in neonatal rats

Prenatal alcohol exposure disrupts the development of normal fetal respiratory function, but whether it perturbs respiratory rhythmical discharge activity is unclear. Furthermore, it is unknown whether the 5-hydroxytryptamine 2A receptor（5-HT2AR） is involved in the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure. In the present study, pregnant female rats received drinking water containing alcohol at concentrations of 0%, 1%, 2%, 4%, 8% or 10%（v/v） throughout the gestation period. Slices of the medulla from 2-day-old neonatal rats were obtained to record respiratory rhythmical discharge activity. 5-HT2 AR protein and m RNA levels in the pre-B？tzinger complex of the respiratory center were measured by western blot analysis and quantitative RT-PCR, respectively. Compared with the 0% alcohol group, respiratory rhythmical discharge activity in medullary slices in the 4%, 8% and 10% alcohol groups was decreased, and the reduction was greatest in the 8% alcohol group. Respiratory rhythmical discharge activity in the 10% alcohol group was irregular. Thus, 8% was the most effective alcohol concentration at attenuating respiratory rhythmical discharge activity. These findings suggest that prenatal alcohol exposure attenuates respiratory rhythmical discharge activity in neonatal rats by downregulating 5-HT2 AR protein and m RNA levels.

Effect of the vortical structures on the hydrodynamic performance of a pitching hydrofoil

The objective is to study the vortical structural behaviors of a transient pitching hydrofoil and their effects on the hydrodynamic performance. The pitching motion of the hydrofoil is set to pitch up with an almost constant rate from 5° to 15° and then back to 5°, with the Reynolds number 4.4×10^(5) and the frequency 2 Hz. The results show that the main coherent structures around the pitching hydrofoil include small-scale laminar separation bubble (LSB), large-scale second vortex (SV) and trailing edge vortex (TEV) which are all vortical. The relationship between the vortical structure and the lift is investigated with the finite-domain impulse theory. It indicates that the major part of the lift is contributed by the LSB, whereas the shedding and the formation of the SV and TEV cause the fluctuation of the lift. The proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method is applied to capture the most energetic modes, revealing that the LSB mode occupies a large amount of energy in the flow field. The dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) method accurately extracts the dominant frequency and modal characteristics, with the first mode corresponding to the mean flow, the second mode corresponding to the LSB structure and the third and fourth modes corresponding to the vortex shedding.

Method for determining the position of landslide slip-surface with a typical inclinometric curves

In the actual monitoring of deep hole displacement,the identification of slip surfaces is primarily based on abrupt changes observed in the inclinometric *** conventional identification methods,inclinometric curves exhibiting indications of sliding can be categorized into three types:B-type,D-type,and *** position of the slip surface is typically determined by identifying the depth corresponding to the point of maximum displacement ***,this method is sensitive to the interval of measurement points and the observation scale of the coordinate axes and suffers from unclear sliding surfaces and uncertain *** on the variation characteristics of these diagonal curves,we classified the landslide into three components:the sliding body,the sliding interval,and the immobile ***,three different generalization models were established to analyze the relationships between the curve form and the slip surface location based on different physical indicators such as displacement rate,relative displacement,and *** results show that the displacement rate curves of an r-type slope exhibit a clustering feature in the sliding interval,and by solving for the depth of discrete points within the step phase,it is possible to determine the location of the slip *** the other hand,D-type slopes have inflection points in the relative displacement curve located at the slip *** acceleration curves of B-type slopes exhibit clustering characteristics during the sliding interval,while the scattered acceleration data demonstrate wandering ***,the slip surface location can be revealed by solving the depth corresponding to the maximum acceleration with cubic spline *** approach proposed in this paper was applied to the monitoring data of a landslide in yunnan Province,*** results indicate that our approach can accurately identify the slip surface location and enable computability of its po
