Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of three-dimensional computed tomography （3D-CT） guided radiofi＇equency trigeminal rhizotomy （RF-TR） in treatment of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia （1TN）. Methods From 1999 to 2001, 18 patients with ITN were treated with percutaneous controlled RF-TR. Intraoperative 3D-CT scanning was performed to guide the trajectory of the puncture. After correction of the needle tip according to the CT scans and stimulation effects, 2 to 5 lesions were made for a duration of 60-90 seconds at a temperature of 60℃ to 75℃ depending on the pain distribution and the age of patient. The needles located in foramen ovale. Pain alleviated immediately with no serious complication in all patients. The patients were followed up for an average of 31.5 months （range 24-41 months）. Acute pain relief was experienced by 17 patients after the procedure, reaching an initial success rate of 94.4%. Early （〈 6 months） pain recurrence was observed in 2 patients （11.1%）, whereas late （〉 6 months） recurrence was reported in 3 patients （16.7%）. Thirteen patients had complete pain control, with no need for medication thereafter. Five cases experienced partial pain relief, but required medication at a lower dose than in the preoperative period. Conclusion 3D-CT foramen ovale locations can raise the successful rate of puncture, enhance the safety, and reduce the incidence rate of complication.

The present study examines the hypothesis that endogenous neural progenitor cells isolated from the neocortex of ischemic brain can differentiate into neurons or glial cells and contribute to neural regeneration. We performed middle cerebral artery occlusion to establish a model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in adult rats. Immunohistochemical staining of the cortex 1, 3, 7, 14 or 28 days after injury revealed that neural progenitor cells double-positive for nestin and sox-2 appeared in the injured cortex 1 and 3 days post-injury, and were also positive for glial ifbrillary acidic protein. New neurons were labeled using bromodeoxyuridine and different stages of maturity were identiifed using doublecortin, microtubule-associated protein 2 and neuronal nuclei antigen immunohistochemistry. Immature new neurons coexpressing doublecortin and bromodeoxyuridine were observed in the cortex at 3 and 7 days post-injury, and semi-mature and mature new neurons double-positive for microtubule-associated protein 2 and bromode-oxyuridine were found at 14 days post-injury. A few mature new neurons coexpressing neuronal nuclei antigen and bromodeoxyuridine were observed in the injured cortex 28 days post-injury. Glial ifbrillary acidic protein/bromodeoxyuridine double-positive astrocytes were also found in the injured cortex. Our ifndings suggest that neural progenitor cells are present in the damaged cortex of adult rats with cerebral ischemic brain injury, and that they differentiate into astrocytes and immature neurons, but most neurons fail to reach the mature stage.

In this study, DFT and TDDFT were employed to investigate the geometries, electronic structures, reorganization energy and photophysical properties of four cyclometalated Pt(II) complexes(bzq)Pt(dpm)(1),(bzq)Pt(ppy)(2),(bzq)Pt(Ncaz)(3) and(bzq)Pt(Ndbt)(4)(where bzq = benzo[h]quinoline, dpm = dipivolylmethanoate, ppy =2-phenylpyridine, Ncaz = N-substituted carbazole and Ndbt =N-substituted dibenzothiophene). All the complexes remain the bzq as cyclometalated ligand and our research focuses on the role recognition of another ancillary ligand modification theoretically. According to the results, complexes 2-4 replacing the dpm with different ligands show better rigidity which may weaken nonradiative decay pathways. The complexes 1-4 tend to be bluish-green luminescent materials, and emission wavelengths of 1, 2 and 4 are close each other due to the similar excited state energy levels and electronic density *** with complex 1, the radiative decay rate constant of 2-4 are greatly increased. Therefore, the designed complexes would be potential phosphorescence materials because of the high phosphorescence quantum efficiency and complex 3 can also serve as promising bipolar transporting material due to its better charge transfer balance character.

Based on the historical evolution of the Hangzhou Bay, by making use of the conclusions made by the previous research workers and the integration of concrete data, five distinct impact indicators of the sediment from the Changjiang Estuary and the East China Sea to the Hangzhou Bay are summarized. Numerical calculation and analysis indicate that the scouring and deposition of seabed in the Hangzhou Bay are subject to the direct impact of the evolution of the Changjiang Estuary, and the growth and decline and the direction of the sandy bar at Nanhuizui give traces to the sediment transport between the Changjiang Estuary and the Hangzhou Bay. The transport of sediment from the Changjiang Estuary to the Hangzhou Bay occurs mainly in winter and spring seasons and the increase of the Changjiang River runoff and the decrease of sediment charge have caused scouring in the northern coast of the Hangzhou Bay and the seabed erosion along the frontal margin of the Changjiang River Delta.
