Superelasticity has been widely used in various fields.High elastic limit simultaneously with large superelasticity is urgent in the critical applications.In this study,we have employed the high entropy alloy(HEA)concept to develop a new TiHfNiFe-Nb eutectic HEA(EHEA)based on the TiNi-Nb eutectic alloy.The results show the directional catkin-like microstructure with the fiber eutectic in the center and the lamella eutectic in the outside form along the directional solidification direction when the growth rate is 60 mm/h.The corresponding specimens display the high strength of 1409 MPa and superelasticity of 3.1%in tension at room temperature,which is attributed to the synergetic effect of high entropy,preferred orientation,ordered body-centered cubic(B2)phase and disordered body-centered cubic phase in the eutectic structure.This work sheds light on designing the high-performance superelastic function materials with EHEAs.

Fluoropyrimidine-based combination chemotherapy plus targeted therapy is the standard initial treatment for unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC),but the prognosis remains poor.This phase 3 trial(ClinicalTrials.gov:NCT03950154)assessed the efficacy and adverse events(AEs)of the combination of PD-1 blockade-activated DC-CIK(PD1-T)cells with XELOX plus bevacizumab as a first-line therapy in patients with mCRC.A total of 202 participants were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either first-line XELOX plus bevacizumab(the control group,n=102)or the same regimen plus autologous PD1-T cell immunotherapy(the immunotherapy group,n=100)every 21 days for up to 6 cycles,followed by maintenance treatment with capecitabine and bevacizumab.The main endpoint of the trial was progression-free survival(PFS).The median follow-up was 19.5 months.Median PFS was 14.8 months(95%CI,11.6-18.0)for the immunotherapy group compared with 9.9 months(8.0-11.8)for the control group(hazard ratio[HR],0.60[95%CI,0.40-0.88];p=0.009).Median overall survival(OS)was not reached for the immunotherapy group and 25.6 months(95%CI,18.3-32.8)for the control group(HR,0.57[95%CI,0.33-0.98];p=0.043).Grade 3 or higher AEs occurred in 20.0%of patients in the immunotherapy group and 23.5%in the control groups,with no toxicity-associated deaths reported.The addition of PD1-T cells to first-line XELOX plus bevacizumab demonstrates significant clinical improvement of PFS and OS with well tolerability in patients with previously untreated mCRC.

Background： Chronic hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection is the major cause of hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC）. Some HBV mutants and dysregulation of phosphatase and tensin homolog （PTEN） may promote the development of HCC synergistically. We aimed to test the effects of PTEN genetic polymorphisms and their interactions with important HBV mutations on the development of HCC in HBV-infected subjects. Methods： Quantitative po[ymerase chain reaction was applied to genotype PTEN polymorphisms （rs1234220, rs2299939, rsl234213） in 1012 healthy controls, 302 natural clearance subjects, and 2011 chronic H BV-infected subjects including 1021 HCC patients. HBV mutations were determined by sequencing. The associations of PTEN polymorphisms and their interactions with HBV mutations with HCC risk were assessed using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results： Rs1234220 C allele was significantly associated with HCC risk compared to healthy controls （adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 1.35, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1,07-1.69） and HCC-free HBV-infected subjects （AOR = 1.27, 95% CI = 1.01-1 .57）. rsl234220 C allele was significantly associated with increased frequencies of HCC-risk A 1652G, C 1673T, and C 1730G mutations in genotype B H BV-in fected subjects. Rs2299939 GT genotype was inversely associated with HCC risk in HBV-infected patients （AOR 0.75, 95% CI 0.62-0.92）. The interaction of rs2299939 variant genotypes （GT＋TT） with A3054T mutation significantly increased HCC risk （AOR = 2.41, 95% CI = 1.08-5.35）; whereas its interaction with C3116T mutation significantly reduced HCC risk （AOR = 0.34, 95% CI 0.18-0.66）. These significant effects were only evident in males alter stratification. Conclusions： PTEN polymorphisms and their interactions with HBV mutations may contribute to hepatocarcinogenesis in males. The host-virus interactions are important in identifying HBV-infected subjects who are more likely to develop HCC.

BACKGROUND Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm(BPDCN)is a rare and highly aggressive hematopoietic *** is difficult to diagnose because of the overlap in morphologic and immunophenotypic features with various cutaneous lymphatic hematopoietic tumors.CASE SUMMARY We report on three BPDCN cases,all characterized by skin nodules and examined by histology,immunohistochemical detection,in situ hybridization for Epstein-Barr virus,and follow-up.We also review the relevant literature.All patients were positive for CD56 and negative for Epstein-Barr encoded small RNA.Two patients had bone marrow involvement.Chemotherapy is the main treatment for BPDCN,but case 1 showed bone marrow suppression and case 2 developed recurrence after chemotherapy.Case 1 survived for 7 mo,case 2 for 17 mo,and case 3 for 9 mo.CONCLUSION An accurate pathological diagnosis is a precondition for treatment,and the diagnosis of BPDCN should be based on a combination of clinical symptoms,pathological characteristics,immunophenotype,and other auxiliary examinations.It is necessary to clarify the clinicopathological features and biological behavior of BPDCN to improve its understanding by both clinicians and pathologists.Case 2 survived significantly longer than the other two cases,suggesting that the treatment received by case 2 was more effective.

AIM:To determine the therapeutic effect of lamivudine in late pregnancy for the interruption of motherto-child transmission(MTCT) of hepatitis B virus(HBV).METHODS:Studies were identified by searching available databases up to January 2011.Inclusive criteria were HBV-carrier mothers who had been involved in randomized controlled clinical trials(RCTs) with lamivudine treatment in late pregnancy,and newborns or infants whose serum hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg),hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg) or HBV DNA had been documented.The relative risks(RRs) for interruption of MTCT as indicated by HBsAg,HBV DNA or HBeAg of newborns or infants were calculated with 95% confidence interval(CI) to estimate the efficacy of lamivudine treatment.RESULTS:Fifteen RCTs including 1693 HBV-carrier mothers were included in this meta-analysis.The overall RR was 0.43(95% CI,0.25-0.76;8 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.04) and 0.33(95% CI,0.23-0.47;6 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.93) indicated by newborn HBsAg or HBV DNA.The RR was 0.33(95% CI,0.21-0.50;6 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.46) and 0.32(95% CI,0.20-0.50;4 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.33) indicated by serum HBsAg or HBV DNA of infants 6-12 mo after birth.The RR(lamivudine vs hepatitis B immunoglobulin) was 0.27(95% CI,0.16-0.46;5 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.94) and 0.24(95% CI,0.07-0.79;3 RCTs;P heterogeneity = 0.60) indicated by newborn HBsAg or HBV DNA,respectively.In the mothers with viral load 106 copies/mL after lamivudine treatment(P = 0.45,2 RCTs),as indicated by newborn serum HBsAg.The RR(lamivudine initiated from 28 wk of gestation vs control) was 0.34(95% CI,0.22-0.52;7 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.92) and 0.33(95% CI,0.22-0.50;5 RCTs;Pheterogeneity = 0.86) indicated by newborn HBsAg or HBV DNA.The incidence of adverse effects of lamivudine was not higher in the mothers than in controls(P = 0.97)

Clinical Impact of t(14;18) in Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma

Objective： Recent studies have suggested that t（14;18） is present in a significant proportion of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas （DLBCLs）. However, the prognostic significance of this translocation and its relationship with BCL-2 protein expression remains controversial. Our study aimed to investigate the predictive power of t（14;18） and BCL-2 protein expression in the prognosis of DLBCLs. Methods： Biopsy specimens from 106 DLBCLs were analyzed using interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization （FISH）. Immunophenotypic analysis of CD20, CD3, CD10, BCL-6, MUM1 and BCL-2 was performed by immunohistochemistry. SPSS 13.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results： The t（14;18） was identified in 27 of 106 cases （25.5%）. The percentages of tumor cells expressing CD10, BCL-6, MUM1 and BCL-2 were 21.7%, 26.4%, 56.6% and 73.6%, respectively. The presence of this translocation was significantly correlated with the expression of CD10 and immunophenotypic subtype （p0.001）. No association was observed between BCL-2 protein expression and the presence of t（14;18）. Multivariate analysis confirmed that both t（14;18） and BCL-2 expression were significantly associated with survival. Moreover, patients with t（14;18） had worse prognosis, compared with those with BCL-2 expression （for overall survival： hazard ratio, 4.235; 95%CI, 2.153-8.329, p0.001 vs. hazard ration, 2.743; 95%CI, 1.262-5.962, p=0.011）. Conclusions： The t（14;18） is a useful prognostic tool for the evaluation of DLBCL immunophenotype and prognosis. The prognosis of GCB （germinal centre-like B cell） DLBCL patients should be made with the consideration of the presence of this translocation, and the detection of t（14;18） should be included as a routine diagnostic test in these cases.

Summary:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has a poor treatment prognosis and high mortality worldwide.Understanding the molecular mechanism underlying HCC development would benefit the identification of diagnostic biomarkers and the improvement of the treatment strategies.The expression of carboxypeptidase A6(CPA6)has been reported in epilepsy and febrile seizures rather than in any type of cancers.However,the function of CPA6 expression in HCC is not yet understood.In this study,we aimed to investigate the clinicopathological significance of the expression of CPA6 in HCC and the underlying mechanisms.We observed that the expression of the CPA6 protein was increased significantly in HCC tissues than in paracancerous tissues.To explore its function in HCC,both gain-and loss-of-function studies demonstrated that CPA6 played a vital role in promoting HCC growth and metastasis.When knocking down CPA6 with shRNA,HCC cell proliferation and migration could be suppressed.Meanwhile,CPA6 overexpression could promote proliferation and migration of HLF cells.Moreover,CPA6 could activate AKT serine/threonine kinase(AKT)signaling pathway as confirmed by Western blotting.In conclusion,our study revealed that CPA6 could promote HCC cell proliferation and migration via AKT-mediated signaling pathway.These findings suggest that CPA6 is a promising diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target to improve the prognosis of HCC.

AIM:To evaluate the status of anorectal function after repeated transanal endoscopic microsurgery(TEM).METHODS:Twenty-one patients undergoing subtotal colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis were included.There were more than 5 large(> 1 cm) polyps in the remaining rectum(range:6-20 cm from the anal edge).All patients,19 with villous adenomas and 2 with low-grade adenocarcinomas,underwent TEM with submucosal endoscopic excision at least twice between 2005 and 2011.Anorectal manometry and a questionnaire about incontinence were carried out at week 1 before operation,and at weeks 2 and 3 and 6 mo after the last operation.Anal resting pressure,maximum squeeze pressure,maximum tolerable volume(MTV) and rectoanal inhibitory reflexes(RAIR) were recorded.The integrity and thickness of the internal anal sphincter(IAS) and external anal sphincter(EAS) were also evaluated by endoanal ultrasonography.We determined the physical and mental health status with SF-36 score to assess the effect of multiple TEM on patient quality of life(QoL).RESULTS:All patients answered the questionnaire.Apart from negative RAIR in 4 patients,all of the anorectal manometric values in the 21 patients were normal before operation.Mean anal resting pressure decreased from 38 ± 5 mmHg to 19 ± 3 mmHg(38 ± 5 mmHg vs 19 ± 3 mmHg,P = 0.000) and MTV from 165 ± 19 mL to 60 ± 11 mL(165 ± 19 mL vs 60 ± 11 mL,P = 0.000) at month 3 after surgery.Anal resting pressure and MTV were 37 ± 5 mmHg(38 ± 5 mmHg vs 37 ± 5 mmHg,P = 0.057) and 159 ± 19 mL(165 ± 19 mL vs 159 ± 19 mL,P = 0.071),respectively,at month 6 after TEM.Maximal squeeze pressure decreased from 171 ± 19 mmHg to 62 ± 12 mmHg(171 ± 19 mmHg vs 62 ± 12 mmHg,P = 0.000) at week 2 after operation,and returned to normal values by postoperative month 3(171 ± 19 vs 166 ± 18,P = 0.051).RAIR were absent in 4 patients preoperatively and in 12(2 = 4.947,P = 0.026) patients at month 3 after surgery.RAIR was absent only in 5 patients at postoperative month 6(2 = 0.141,P = 0.707).Endosonography demonstrated that IAS d

The effects of Ti element on the corrosion resistance of the metallic glass Zr51.3AlloNi6Cu31.8Ag0.lY0.8 in aqueous solution with various chloride concentrations were investigated, and the effect mechanism was discussed. X-ray diffraction con-firmed that Ti-added Zr51.3All0Ni6Cu31.8Ag0.lY0.8 metallic glasses with diameter of 3 mm were all metallic glasses. weight loss and electrochemical method were introduced to characterize their corrosion resistance, and X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy study was used t9 characterize the passive film composition. The results show that the corrosion resistance of metallic glass is significantly improved with Ti addition, and Zr dioxides dominate in passive film during corrosion when Ti content is low. High Ti addition can lead to an obvious accumulation of Ti dioxides, which results in a thicker, Ti-enriched protective passive film.

BACKGROUND Colposcopy currently plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of lower genital diseases.Exposure and biopsy are two key steps in colposcopy.When the whole transformation zone or all lesions cannot be observed,we judge colposcopy as unsatisfactory.Unsatisfactory colposcopic examination may lead to the misdiagnosis of more severe diseases.The combination of colposcopy and vaginoscopy may contribute to accurate diagnosis and clinical decisions.CASE SUMMARY Here,we introduce a case of posthysterectomy deep vaginal apex not fully exposed by colposcopy,and the biopsy result was a vaginal precancerous lesion.We adopted vaginoscopy to extend the observed area and expose the lesion thoroughly,and the biopsy result was vaginal squamous cancer.CONCLUSION The patient received a precise diagnosis and early surgery due to the combination of colposcopy and vaginoscopy.
