Nitrobenzene contamination of groundwater in a petrochemical industry site

Organic contamination of groundwater is a major concern in ***,remediation technology for groundwater contamination to address the potential harm and danger brought by the abovementioned serious issue is still in the research *** study aims to improve the current research *** the research project,drilling,soil,and groundwater sampling and analysis were conducted in a contamination site of a petrochemical plant,migration of contaminants to the river was predicted using a numerical model,the sequence permeable reactive barrier(PRB)for treating nitrobenzene(NB)and benzene was proposed,and simulation was carried *** findings demonstrated that three leaking locations had been identified in the plant,the major pollutants were NB and benzene,and the groundwater contamination area was around 640000 *** results of the numerical model indicated that,in the worst case,the groundwater plume would reach the river after migration for nearly 9 years,which would endanger the safety of surface water ***,the twoPRB system with the filling of zero-valent iron(ZVI)and granular activated carbon attached with biofilm exerted strong remediation *** results indicated that ZVI could transform NB to aniline effectively with a rate of approximately 93%.Meanwhile,aniline,benzene,and other organic pollutants could easily be biodegraded.

Geothermal energy is a kind of green and renewable ***,ground source heat pumps can be used to harvest geothermal energy from the *** reduce the initial investment,a good solution is to use tunnel linings as heat exchangers to extract/dump *** special infrastructure is called an energy *** addition to the thermal performance,the impact of pipe network configuration on thermal efficiency is still challenging in the design of energy *** solve this problem,this study makes the first attempt to carry out research on the optimization of pipe circuits in energy tunnels by a series of numerical analyses.A fully coupled thermo-hydraulic 3D finite element model is established to investigate the response of tunnel-soil interaction under cyclical thermal loading(initial soil temperature varies from 8C to 18C),as well as the thermal transient interactions among air,absorber pipe,tunnel linings and ground,to quantify the amount of useful heat that can be extracted from the tunnel and the *** the other hand,the influence of 3 various heat-carrying pipes layout is also *** is found that higher heat transfer efficiency can be obtained when the entrance and exit of pipelines are located below the tunnel in the *** spatial location of pipelines will also affect the exchanged heat output.

Cytokine-based immunotherapy is executed by harnessing cytokines to activate the immune system to suppress tumors. Th1-type cytokines including IL-1, IL-2, IL-12 and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor are potent stimulators of Th1 differentiation and Th1-based antitumor response. Many preclinical studies demonstrated the antitumor effects of Th1 cytokines but their clinical efficacy is *** factors influence the efficacy of immunotherapy for tumors. For instance immunosuppressive cells in the tumor microenvironment can produce inhibitory cytokines which suppress antitumor immune response. Most studies on cytokine immunotherapy focused on how to boost Th1 response; many studies combined cytokine-based therapy with other treatments to reverse immunosuppression in tumor *** addition, cytokines have pleiotropic functions and some cytokines show paradoxical activities under different *** understanding the physiological and pathological functions of cytokines helps clinicians to design Th1-based cancer therapy in clinical practice.

Sidestay lock mechanism is an important part of landing gear system,and the locking performance can be analyzed based on changes in its ***,during numerical continuation analysis of fully-rigid dual-sidestay landing gear without clearance,it has been found that the appearance of bifurcation points does not necessarily imply that both sidestay links can be locked *** problem reveals the limitations of fully-rigid model with ideally-articulated in solving dual-sidestay mechanisms with extremely high motion ***,this study proposes a bifurcation analysis method for synchronous locking of dual-sidestay landing gears,which takes into consideration the joint *** in-depth analysis of this problem,we initially build kinematic and mechanical models of a landing gear mechanism that consider joint ***,the models are solved based on *** fundamental causes of synchronous locking are discussed in detail,and the number of bifurcation points is found to be closely related to whether the landing gear is completely ***,the effects of structural parameters on the synchronous locking are analyzed,and the feasible region of parameters satisfying synchronous locking condition is given,which agrees well with the test results.

In this paper, the continuum self-consistent field theory （SCFT） is applied to study the structure and the interaction of the adsorption of symmetrical ABA polyampholytes （PAs） between two neutral planes. It is found that the amounts of all the conformations decrease with the increase of the charge fraction of polymer chain, and increase with the increase of the bulk salt concentration and become saturated at high bulk salt concentration. The effective interaction between the two planes presented a long-range repulsion. Splitting it into various components and relating with the dependence of the variations of the conformations on environment parameters, we ,try to find the origin of the total long-range interaction between the two planes.

The carrier-based aircraft landing and arrest process is complex and nonlinear,and includes the coupling effect between the aircraft and arresting *** has many uncertain factors,which lead to difficulty in the reliability *** make the reliability analysis more accurate and effective,this paper presents some *** a certain type of carrier-based aircraft as the research object,a dynamic model of the landing and arrest cable was established,and the accuracy of the model was verified using laboratory test *** on the model,this paper shows how the key parameters,including the sinking velocity,pitch angle and horizontal velocity,affect the collision rebound performance of the arresting *** that,a limit state equation of the arresting hook system’s reliability was *** the implicit limit state equation,a surrogate model of the reliability of the arresting hook was established using the Support Vector Machine(SVM)method,and then reliability analysis was carried out using the Monte Carlo ***,it was explained in detail how the key parameters affect the reliability of the hook engaging the arresting cable,and some meaningful conclusions were *** analysis method and its results can provide a reference for the top-level parameter design of carrier-based aircraft and reliability research on the arresting systems.

Test-case prioritization, proposed at the end of last century, aims to schedule the execution order of test cases so as to improve test effectiveness. In the past years, test-case prioritization has gained much attention, and has significant achievements in five aspects： prioritization algorithms, coverage criteria, measurement, practical concems involved, and application scenarios. In this article, we will first review the achievements of test-case prioritization from these five as- pects and then give our perspectives on its challenges.
