Adopting a nano-and micro-structuring approach to fully unleashing the genuine potential of electrode active material benefits in-depth understandings and research progress toward higher energy density electrochemical energy stor-age devices at all technology readiness *** to various challenging issues,especially limited stability,nano-and micro-structured(NMS)electrodes undergo fast electrochemical performance *** emerging NMS scaffold design is a pivotal aspect of many electrodes as it endows them with both robustness and electrochemical performance enhancement,even though it only occupies comple-mentary and facilitating components for the main ***,extensive efforts are urgently needed toward optimizing the stereoscopic geometrical design of NMS scaffolds to minimize the volume ratio and maximize their functionality to fulfill the ever-increasing dependency and desire for energy power source *** review will aim at highlighting these NMS scaffold design strategies,summariz-ing their corresponding strengths and challenges,and thereby outlining the potential solutions to resolve these challenges,design principles,and key perspectives for future research in this ***,this review will be one of the earliest reviews from this viewpoint.

Synthesis of straight-chain C_(49)H_(100) alkane using a modular splicing strategy

Ultra-long n-alkanes are highly valuable in both scientific research and as major constituents of specialty high-melting-point *** conventional methods(e.g.,Fischer–Tropsch(FT),ethylene oligomerization,and polyethylene cracking)typically resulting in wide n-alkane distributions,the elaborate design strategy presented herein allows the direct synthesis of pure,long n-alkanes using a modular splicing method with acetone,furfural,and fatty acid anhydrides or acyl chlorides as *** herein approach is based on a simple four-step catalytic reaction scheme involving C–C chain elongation and C–O bond *** synthesized pure n-alkanes had a carbon chain length as high as C_(49)(total yield of 49%).The synthesis approach also allows to selectively prepare n-alkanes with even and odd carbon numbers ranging from C15 to C_(49).This process represents a great breakthrough in the synthesis of long-chain pure n-alkanes,surpassing the carbon number limitations reported in previous methodologies.

Effect of dynamic loading orientation on fracture properties of surrounding rocks in twin tunnels

For expedited transportation,vehicular tunnels are often designed as two adjacent tunnels,which frequently experience dynamic stress waves from various orientations during blasting *** analyze the impact of dynamic loading orientation on the stability of the twin-tunnel,a split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)apparatus was used to conduct a dynamic test on the twin-tunnel *** two tunnels were rotated around the specimen’s center to consider the effect of dynamic loading ***-DYNA software was used for numerical simulation to reveal the failure properties and stress wave propagation law of the twin-tunnel *** findings indicate that,for a twin-tunnel exposed to a dynamic load from different orientations,the crack initiation position appears most often at the tunnel corner,tunnel spandrel,and tunnel *** the impact direction is created by a certain angle(30°,45°,60°,120°,135°,and 150°),the fractures are produced in the middle of the line between the left tunnel corner and the right tunnel *** the impact loading angle(a)is 90°,the tunnel sustains minimal damage,and only tensile fractures form in the surrounding *** orientation of the impact load could change the stress distribution in the twin-tunnel,and major fractures are more likely to form in areas where the tensile stress is concentrated.

High-Precision Doppler Frequency Estimation Based Positioning Using OTFS Modulations by Red and Blue Frequency Shift Discriminator

Orthogonal Time Frequency and Space(OTFS) modulation is expected to provide high-speed and ultra-reliable communications for emerging mobile applications, including low-orbit satellite communications. Using the Doppler frequency for positioning is a promising research direction on communication and navigation integration. To tackle the high Doppler frequency and low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) in satellite communication, this paper proposes a Red and Blue Frequency Shift Discriminator(RBFSD) based on the pseudo-noise(PN) *** paper derives that the cross-correlation function on the Doppler domain exhibits the characteristic of a Sinc function. Therefore, it applies modulation onto the Delay-Doppler domain using PN sequence and adjusts Doppler frequency estimation by red-shifting or blue-shifting. Simulation results show that the performance of Doppler frequency estimation is close to the Cramér-Rao Lower Bound when the SNR is greater than -15dB. The proposed algorithm is about 1/D times less complex than the existing PN pilot sequence algorithm, where D is the resolution of the fractional Doppler.

Background and Aims:Previous studies have reported that the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)of SAMM50-rs738491,PARVB-rs5764455 and PNPLA3-rs738409 are associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).However,no studies have examined the effect of interactions between these three genotypes to affect liver disease *** assessed the effect of these three SNPs on nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)and also examined the gene-gene interactions in a Chinese population with biopsy-confirmed ***:We enrolled 415 consecutive adult individuals with biopsy-proven *** logistic regres-sion analysis was undertaken to test associations between NASH and SNPs in SAMM50-rs738491,PARVB-rs5764455 and ***-gene interactions were ana-lyzed by performing a generalized multifactor dimensionality reduction(GMDR)***:The mean±standard deviation age of these 415 patients was 41.3±12.5 years,and 75.9%were *** with SAMM50-rs738491 TT,PARVB-rs5764455 AA or PNPLA3-rs738409 GG genotypes had a higher risk of NASH,even after adjustment for age,sex and body mass *** analysis showed that the combination of all three SNPs was the best model for predicting ***,the odds ratio of the haplotype T-A-G for predicting the risk of NASH was nearly three times higher than that of the haplotype ***:NAFLD patients carrying the SAMM50-rs738491 TT,PARVB-rs5764455 AA or PNPLA3-rs738409 GG genotypes are at greater risk of *** three SNPs may synergistically interact to increase susceptibility to NASH.

The catalysis technology of propylene dimerization to form 4-methyl-1-pentene(4MP1)using a Cu-K/K_(2)CO_(3) solid base catalyst is a well-known heterogeneous catalytic *** this study,the intrinsic kinetics of propylene dimerization were studied in a fixed-bed continuous *** and external diffusion during the dimerization reaction experiments were eliminated by adjusting the flow rate of the carrier gas and the particle size of the catalyst ***,the concentration changes of each substance at the outlet of the catalyst bed under different residence times were ***,the suitable reaction kinetics equations was derived using the Langmuir Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson kinetic ***,the activation energy for each reaction involved in the dimerization reaction was *** activation energies of 4MP1,branched by-products,and 1-hexene were 115.0,150.8,and 177.4 kJ/mol,*** effect of process conditions on propylene dimerization with solid base catalysts was studied through kinetic model *** comparing the theoretical values obtained from the simulation with the experimental results,the applicability and accuracy of the kinetic model were verified.

The numerical simulation of arc was carried out for both conventional melt inert gas(MIG)welding and ultrasonic assisted melt inert gas(U-MIG)*** on the model established by Fluent,the arc shape,temperature field,and potential distribution were *** study found that the shape of the arc changed when ultrasonic was added radially;the high-temperature area of the arc stretched,and the temperature peak *** as the current increased,the increase in temperature *** addition,under the same conditions,the potential of U-MIG decreased and the pressure on the workpiece *** verify the accuracy of the simulation results,welding experiments under identical conditions were carried out,and a high-speed camera was used to collect dynamic pictures of the *** simulation results were in a favorable agreement with the experimental results,which provided a certain reference value for ultrasonic assisted arc welding.

Introduction:Detecting poliovirus infections proves to be highly challenging due to their asymptomatic nature and infectious potential,highlighting the crucial importance of effective detection methods in the context of polio eradication *** many countries,including China,the primary approach for identifying polio outbreaks has been through acute flaccid paralysis(AFP)*** this study,we conducted an evaluation spanning three decades(1993–2022)to assess the effectiveness of AFP surveillance in ***:Data on all AFP cases identified since 1993 and national-level AFP surveillance system quality indicators aligned with the World Health Organization(WHO)standards were collected for *** quality indicators assess surveillance sensitivity,completeness,timeliness of detection notification,case investigation,and laboratory *** sensitivity is determined by the non-polio AFP(NPAFP)detection rate among children under 15 years of ***:Between 1993 and 2022,a total of 150,779 AFP cases were identified and *** this pool,surveillance identified 95 cases of wild poliovirus(WPV)and 24 cases due to vaccinederived *** 1995 onwards,the detection rate of NPAFP cases consistently adhered to the WHO and national standards of≥1 case per 100,000,falling between 1.38 and *** in 1997,all timeliness indicators consistently achieved the criteria of 80%,apart from the consistency in meeting standards set for the rate of positive specimens sent to the national ***:AFP surveillance has been instrumental in China’s accomplishment of maintaining a polio-free *** ongoing adherence to key performance indicators,ensuring sensitivity and prompt specimen collection,demonstrates that AFP surveillance is proficient in detecting poliovirus in *** we move into the post-eradication phase,AFP surveillance remains crucial for the sustained absence of polioviruses in the long term.

Strengthening mechanism of different morphologies of nanosized MSH on tribological performance of phosphate/MoS2 bonded solid lubricating coatings

magnesium silicate hydroxides(MSHs)with granular,schistose,and tubular morphologies were separately incorporated to enhance the tribological properties of phosphate/MoS2 composite *** nano-schistose MSH demonstrated superior tribological performance due to its effective interactions with the worn surface and frictional synergies with solid *** of nano-schistose MSH decreased the friction coefficient of composite coatings by about 34.7%and increased the anti-wear performance of composite coatings by about thirteen ***-schistose MSH facilitated the formation of a friction-induced multi-layer heterogenous slipping structure with layered solid lubricants at the friction ***,tribo-chemical reactions between nano-schistose MSH and worn surface promoted the in-situ formation of a cermet supporting film,and this also induced the gradual in-situ formation of a lubrication film on the top of worn ***,the contact state between tribo-pairs was timely regulated and the invalidation of the nanocomposite slipping structure was effectively restrained during the friction *** a result,the service life of the phosphate composite coatings was significantly extended and further abrasion on the worn surface was notably reduced.
