A passive sampler for synchronously measuring inorganic and organic pollutants in sediment porewater:Configuration and field application

In situ measurement of multiple pollutants coexisting in sediment porewater is an essential step in comprehensively assessing the bioavailability and risk of pollutants,but to date,this needs to be better *** this study,a passive sampler,consisting of an“I-shaped”supporting frame and inorganic/organic sampling units,incorporating equilibrium dialysis theory and kinetic/equilibrium sorption principle,was developed for the synchronous measurement of inorganic(e.g.,phosphorus and metal(loid)s)and organic pollutants(e.g.,parent and substituted PAHs).The equilibrium time and sampling rates were explored in laboratory tests to support in situ *** of pollutants in porewater within a vertical resolution of centimeters,i.e.,1 cm and 2 cm for inorganic and organic pollutants,respectively,were obtained by field deployment of the sampler for further estimation of diffusive fluxes across the sediment-water *** results suggested that the role of sediments for a specific pollutant may change(e.g.,from“sink”to“source”)during the sampling *** study demonstrated the feasibility of synchronous measurement of inorganic and organic pollutants in sediment porewater by the passive *** addition,it provided new insight for further investigation into the combined pollution effects of various pollutants in sediments.

Detection and analysis of serum bile acid profile in patients with colonic polyps

BACKGROUND Analyzing the variations in serum bile acid(BA)profile can provide a certain biological basis for early warning and prevention of various *** is currently no comprehensive study on the relationship between the serum BA profile and colonic *** To study the serum BA profile detection results of patients with colonic polyps,and analyze the correlation between BA and colonic *** From January 1,2022,to June 1,2023,204 patients with colonic polyps who were diagnosed and treated at Zhongda Hospital Southeast University were chosen as the study subjects,and 135 non-polyp people who underwent physical examination were chosen as the control *** all patients'clinical information,typical biochemical indicators,and BA *** Compared with the control group,the serum levels of taurocholic acid,glycocholic acid,glycochenodeoxycholic acid,and taurochenodeoxycholic acid in the colonic polyp group were significantly higher than those in the control group,while the content of deoxycholic acid(DCA)was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).When colonic polyps were analyzed as subgroups,it was shown that there was a strong correlation between changes in the BA profile and polyp diameter,location,morphology,pathological kind,*** The serum BA profile showed significant changes in patients with colonic polyps,with a significant increase in primary conjugated BA content and a decrease in secondary free bile acid DCA *** is a certain correlation between primary free BA and pathological parameters of polyps.

Dynamic changes in physicochemical property,biogenic amines content and microbial diversity during the fermentation of Sanchuan ham

Sanchuan ham is appreciated in Yunnan Province,China,for its characteristic flavor and taste,while the microbial community structure and biogenic amines content remain unclear during fermentation *** this study,we explored the physicochemical property,biogenic amines concentration and microbial diversity of external and internal Sanchuan ham by high-throughput sequencing during the processing of Sanchuan *** showed that the nitrite remained at a stable level of 0.15 mg/kg which was significantly lower than the national health standard safety level of 20 mg/*** addition,compared with fresh hams,the content of total free amino acids in ripe Sanchuan ham has grown 14 folds;sour and bitter were the main tastes of Sanchuan ***,the concentration of cadaverine was the highest of all biogenic amines during the entire fermentation *** the bacterial phyla level,Firmicutes and Actinobacteria were the two main phyla,while at the genus level,Staphylococcus was a significant strain throughout the whole ***,the dry stage has a great impact on the succession change of microbial community ***,the change trends and composition of bacteria in the interior have slight discrepancies with those of the exterior of Sanchuan ham.

Hollow ZIF-67-derived Co@N-doped carbon nanotubes boosting the hydrogenation of phenolic compounds to alcohols

The selective hydrogenation of highly toxic phenolic compounds to generate alcohols with thermal stability,environmental friendliness,and non-toxicity is of great ***,a series of Co-based catalysts,named Co@NCNTs,were designed and constructed by direct pyrolysis of hollow ZIF-67(HZIF-67)under H_(2)/Ar *** evolution of the catalyst surface from the shell layer assembled by ZIF-67-derived particles to the in situ-grown hollow nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNTs)with certain length and density is achieved by adjusting the pyrolysis atmosphere and *** to the synergistic effects of in situ-formed hollow NCNTs,well-dispersed Co nanoparticles,and intact carbon matrix,the as-prepared Co@NCNTs-0.10-450 catalyst exhibits superior catalytic performance in the hydrogenation of phenolic compounds to *** turnover frequency value of Co@NCNTs-0.10-450is 3.52 h^(-1),5.9 times higher than that of Co@NCNTs-0.40-450 and 4.5 times higher than that of Co@NCNTs-0.10-550,exceeding most previously reported non-noble metal *** findings provide new insights into the development of non-precious metal,efficient,and cost-effective metal-organic framework-derived catalysts for the hydrogenation of phenolic compounds to alcohols.

3%Y_(2)O_(3)p/ZGK200 composites were subjected to unidirectional rolling(UR)and cross rolling(CR)at 400℃and 350℃followed by annealing at 300℃for 1 *** microstructure,texture and mechanical properties of rolled and annealed composites were systematically *** rolled composites exhibited a heterogeneous microstructure,consisting of deformed grains elongated along rolling direction(RD)and Y_(2)O_(3)particles bands distributed along *** annealing,static recrystallization(SRX)occurred and most deformed grains transformed into equiaxed grains.A non-basal texture with two strong T-texture components was obtained after UR while a non-basal elliptical/circle texture with circle multi-peaks was obtained after CR,indicating that rolling path had great influences on texture of the *** annealing process,R-texture component disappeared or weakened,as results,a non-basal texture with double peaks tilting from normal direction(ND)to transverse direction(TD)and a more random non-basal texture with circle multi-peaks were obtained for UR and CR composites,*** yield strength of rolled composites after UR showed obvious anisotropy along RD and TD while a low anisotropic yield strength was obtained after *** Y_(2)O_(3)particles broke during *** fracture of the composites was attributed to the existence of Y_(2)O_(3)clusters and interfacial debonding between particles and matrix during tension,as a result,the ductility was not as superior as matrix alloy.

The sedimentary facies/microfacies,which can be correlated with well logs,determine reservoir quality and hydrocarbon productivity in carbonate *** identification and evaluation of sedimentary facies/microfacies using well logs are very important in order to effectively guide the exploration and development of oil and *** carbonate facies/microfacies identification methods based on conventional well log data often exist multiple *** paper presents a new method of facies/microfacies identification based on core-conventional logs-electrical image log-geological model,and the method is applied in the fourth member of the Dengying Formation(Deng 4)in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area of the Sichuan ***,core data are used to calibrate different types of facies/microfacies,with the aim to systematically clarify the conventional and electrical image log responses for each type of facies/***,through the pair wise correlation analysis of conventional logs,GR,RT and CNL,are selected as sensitive curves to establish the microfacies discrimination criteria ***,five well logging response models and identification charts of facies/microfacies are established based on electrical image *** sedimentary microfacies of 60 exploratory wells was analyzed individually through this method,and the microfacies maps of 4 layers of the Deng 4 Member were compiled,and the plane distribution of microfacies in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area of the Sichuan Basin was *** comparative analysis of oil testing or production results of wells reveals three most favorable types of microfacies and they include algal psammitic shoal,algal agglutinate mound,and algal stromatolite mound,which provide a reliable technical support to the exploration,development and well deployment in the study area.

Non-Hermitian systems with parity–time(PT)-symmetry have been extensively studied and rapidly developed in resonance wireless power transfer(WPT).The WPT system that satisfies PT-symmetry always has real eigenvalues,which promote efficient energy ***,meeting the condition of PT-symmetry is one of the most puzzling *** power transfer under different transmission conditions is also a great *** state in the continuum(BIC)supporting extreme quality-factor mode provides an opportunity for efficient ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally that BIC widely exists in resonance-coupled systems without PT-symmetry,and it can even realize more stable and efficient power transfer than PT-symmetric ***,BIC for efficient WPT is universal and suitable in standard second-order and even high-order WPT *** results not only extend non-Hermitian physics beyond PT-symmetry,but also bridge the gap between BIC and practical application engineering,such as highperformance WPT,wireless sensing and communications.

Antibiotic resistance is an escalating global concern,leading to millions of annual *** resistance genes(ARGs)present in bacteria equip them to withstand the effects of ***-and interspecific ARGs transmission through horizontal gene transfer further exacerbates resistance *** presence of ARGs in the environment heightens the probability of human exposure via direct inhalation,ingestion,or contact with polluted air,food,or water,posing substantial biosafety and health ***,ARGs represent a critical focal point in public health and environmental safety and are classified as emerging *** perspective underscores the necessity to assess ARG exposure within the One Health framework and to accord greater attention to the mitigation strategies and tactics associated with ARGs.

Sources appointment and health risks of PM_(2.5)-bound trace elements in a coastal city of southeastern China

To gain a comprehensive understanding of sources and health risks of trace elements in an area of China with high population densities and low PM_(2.5)concentrations,15 trace elements(Al,K,Ca,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Sn,Ba,Pb)in PM_(2.5)were monitored from December 2020 to November 2021 in a representative city,*** concentrations of trace elements in Xiamen displayed an obvious seasonal variation and were dominated by K,Fe,Al,Ca and *** on Positive Matrix Factorization analysis,source appointment revealed that the major sources of trace elements in Xiamen were traffic,dust,biomass and firework combustion,industrial manufacture and shipping *** to health risk assessment combined with the source appointment results,it indicated that the average noncarcinogenic risk was below the threshold and cancer risk of four hazardous metals(Cr,Ni,As,Pb)exceeded the threshold(10^(-6)).Traffic-related source had almost half amount of contribution to the health risk induced by PM_(2.5)-bound trace *** the dust transport period or Spring Festival period,the health risks exceeded an acceptable threshold even an order of magnitude higher,suggesting that the serious health risks still existed in low PM_(2.5)environment at certain *** risk assessment reminded that the health risk reduction in PM_(2.5)at southeastern China should prioritize traffic-related hazardous trace elements and highlighted the importance of controlling vehicles emissions in the future.

Harmonic State Space Based Impedance Modeling and Virtual Impedance Based Stability Enhancement Control for LCC-HVDC Systems

Line commutated converter based high-voltage direct-current(LCC-HVDC)transmissions are prone to harmonic oscillation under weak *** modeling is an effective method for assessing interaction ***,this paper proposes an improved calculation method for the DC voltage and AC currents of commutation stations to address the complex linearization of the commutation process and constructs an overall harmonic state-space(HSS)model of an *** on the HSS model,the closed-loop AC impedances on the LCC-HVDC sending and receiving ends are then derived and *** impedance characteristics of the LCC-HVDC are then analyzed to provide a physical explanation for the harmonic oscillation of the *** effects of the grid strength and control parameters on system stability are also *** improve the impedance characteristics and operating stability of the LCC-HVDC system,a virtual impedance based stability enhancement control is proposed,and a parameter design method is considered to ensure satisfactory phase margins at both the sending and receiving ***,simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the impedance model and virtual impedance based stability enhancement control.
